I have decided to run our Flyball trials like they do in real life. Here's a run down of how things will work.
We will have Catz & Dogz trials so catz don't get left out. Everything is the same for the Catz.
TEAM Trials
You will need to enter a team of 4 dogs. Each dog will need to be timed and will require two pictures.
Pictures required;
1. Jump right - no toy
2. Jump left - with ball
Times from each dog will be added up for a total time for the whole team.
In real life, teams / dogs earn points based on their times. So they won't be competing against other teams, just their own times. I am adjusting the times for petz because it takes petz a little longer to do things than RL dogs. Here's how points will be received;
3 - 5 minutes = 1 Point per dog
2 - 3 minutes = 5 Points per dog
0 - 2 minutes - 25 Points per dog
North American Flyball Association-
Each time a team races in a NAFA sanctioned flyball tournament with a recorded time under 24 seconds, each dog racing in that heat will receive 25 points toward a flyball title; under 28 seconds each dog racing in that heat will receive 5 points; under 32 seconds each dog racing in that heat will receive 1 point.
SINGLE Trials
Single trials are judged like normal petz shows but using the tasks above and petz placements are as follows;
1st - 5 points
2nd - 3 points
3rd - 1 point
These points will go towards your petz Flyball titles listed below.
Titles
Credit to the NAFA
For catz, just put a C instead of a D.
(Let me know if you think that's a bit much. If you were to get 25 points each time, it'd only take 20 trials to reach 500 points.)
NOTE- If your dog already has points from previous Flyball trials, they can be transferred over to here. Just post in the Registered dogs page with how many points your dog has already.

-Tips-
1. Train / work with your dog on the tasks before the trial!
2. Be sure to hold the hoop still.
3. Reward your dog for jumping, picking up the ball, and jumping with ball in mouth with petting and treats.
4. If you're having trouble getting your pet to jump through the hoop, try giving a treat for any interaction with it even if it's just pawing at it. Then try again. This might take a few tries.
5. If your dog keeps dropping the ball before jumping, try petting them really quick right after they pick the ball up, then holding the hoop.
6. If your dog stands there forever after petting them, wanting more petting, work with them on this. Pet them, then call them to you. After 5 or so repetitions, they will get over being pet faster. Give them a treat when they come to you too.
7. Make sure you have Auto Save pictures on during the competition!
Hope this helps!
