The story begins with my friend playing Sims 4. She started creating people she knew in real life in her Sims game and described to us what "we" did in the game. I didn't own Sims, but the pet expansion of the game reminded me of Petz.
And thus I hunted and downloaded the game.
I decided I would try to re-create some of the real life pets of friends in this virtual game. The friend that played Sims had two dogs in real life: a dachshund-chihuahua mix and a pug-chihuahua mix.
Since both were mixed with Chihuahua, I decided to adopt one Chihuahua, one Pug, and one Dachshund. The goal was to let the Chihuahua decide who he wanted to breed with, and that would be the winner. I felt like I was creating a cruel drama, pitting three pups in this love triangle. But in the end I learned that Petz don't mate for life and the joke was on me: he chose both.
Astrid the Dachshund
I adopted her from the Adoption Center on 6/5/2018. I streamed when adopted her, and my friend loved her spicy attitude so much that she named her Astrid after the character from "How to Train Your Dragon" movies. She's so small compared to my other adopted dogs!
Malory the Pug
I adopted her from the Adoption Center on 6/8/2018. I asked a friend to help me name her. I accidentally told her it would be a male pug, so she named her after Sir Thomas Malory. It worked out in the end because Malory can be a girl's name. Malory is great learning tricks and catching flying disks.
Spenser the Chihuahua
I adopted Spenser at the same time I adopted Malory. The same friend that named Malory named this little dude. He is named after Edmund Spenser. Spenser is really great at tricks. He is so easily distracted by his ladies though!
All three of them actually love each other. Even the two females will make lovey eyes and noises at each other! I didn't think that could happen with the same gender.
