((Disclaimer: I did not come up with the word "tamsanity". I stole that name from Buck and I hope she didn't copyright it because its such a funny word))
I've decided to naturally raise a couple of tamsins
Meet Mystik
I won him in an auction! (I was the only one who bid but that still counts as a win!) He was bred by the Tamsin Queen herself, Buck @ Medusa! I am quite honored to have won him ^^
I fell in love with him the moment I saw him on the auction page. Not going to lie, I actually stayed on the page to make sure no one outbid me at the last second, because he was that cute. I never realized I loved tamsins, but I really love how they are half colored Dalmatians with white patches in all the right places.
I love the color combo of dusty, black and white; his eyes match perfectly! The dusty being the front half and black being the back half is visually better. And his black half has a sheepie tail <3 He's got one paw with white toes and behind that same paw near the ankle, is another spot of white. And one black ear <3 I love when Dalmatians have one black ear. Ah, what a beautiful dog!
But his personality is my favorite part. He's not actually sleepy in any of those photos. He narrows his eyes and points up his nose, giving him a condescending look. (I like to call them bedroom eyes) He's got a part personality of a self-important poodle, part personality of a lovably sweet dalmatian mixed with a little bit of that sheepdog clumsiness and trotting. My heart has been taken by all this cute.
I decided he needed a friend. I remembered I adopted a tamsin earlier from an RKC Adoption Thread:
Meet Camellia
I adopted her from Shade @ NSP on 7/3/2018. This was my second RKC adoption ever! I had been interested in, but never owned a tamsin before at this point, so when I saw her, I immediately stated my interest.
I must confess, I'm not a huge fan of pink eyes. And at the time, I really wasn't a fan of cream. But I adopted her because I really wanted a tamsin. And then it took almost a month for me to finally play with her.
She didn't have a name. I find it very hard to come up with names (probably another reason it took so long to play with her). Her eyes were really anime so I thought of an anime character with pink eyes. Izayoi from Blazblue came to mind but her name didn't translate to anything pretty. So, I used her human name, Tsubaki, which translates to camellia: a pink flower found in Asia. Perfect. Matches her eyes.
However, I've grown found of her eyes now that I've played with her and seen her personality. And how wrong was eye: pink eyes go well with a cream coat <3 I love that all her paws are white except for one cream. And the tip of her tail is cream too! And she has black spots everywhere <3 tho more on her right side than on her left. The black ears go so well with the black eyelids.
As for her personality, well, at first I thought she was just a generic, play-it-safe Dalmatian. But, I learned she has a wild side... (;
Both of these gorgeous creatures have been bred by lovely folks here at Duke's. <3 THANK YOU
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Let's start by introducing the two pups. I played with each of them separately for a time to get into their personality. I decided that the backyard would be a fun playscene and brought out Camellia alone first for a bit.
Now, my toys in playscenes are a mess. I have a wide variety of them kind of just thrown about as I like my petz to try different things. And I didn't realize that in my backyard was cat nip..... And Camellia found it....
Really? You're going to get wasted on your first meeting with Mystik?
"Yeah, what of it?"
(The catnip was hiding at the bottom of the screen where the tool tips are!)
"Let me meet this pup!" she demanded. She was not sober yet, but I let them meet.
She drunkenly stared at Mystik for several seconds.
Mystik tried really hard to get her attention. "Excuse me, miss."
Petz have an obsession with greeting each other to the point where if ignored, it could sour a relationship. But she just stared blankly. I grew concerned.
And so did Mystik. He wonders to himself what is wrong with this creature.
But she eventually realized there was another dog there and did the most bizarre greeting I've ever seen. Usually when petz greet each other for the first time, they face each other without turning their head. But this... she was on top of him. Even Mystik wasn't sure what was going on.
"Eyyyyyyyy boiiiiii!"
Okay. That was just the first greeting. It did not go smoothly, but its okay. They can enjoy the beautiful rose garden.
Camellia planking in photos isn't popular anymore.
The playing part was going smoothly. Mystik wasn't mad or upset. Camellia was being, well Camellia.
And then she found the paint can. (I really gotta clean up my playscenes)
"Mmmm this smells great!"
"Yo, magic boy, you gotta try this."
Mystik: "I- I've got spots on me bum! This is grand!"
And he liked it a lot.
"I'm blue! This is brilliant!"
Camellia: "Okay, you have fun, Captain Planet. I think I need a sleep."
Mystik learned the joys of painting himself. And Thor learned he has hidden spots and a tail tip.
