K thanks! Oh my, looks like I'll be feeding about 7 cups per rest, unless I rest more than three times a day. That just seems ridiculous to let a dog eat that much at once! How do they do this in real life???
Ok, here goes!
Pace for 2hrs Push for 1 hr Rest for 1 hr and feed 2 cups per dog, plus water Push for 1 hr Pace for 3 hrs Rest for 1 hr and feed 2 cups per dog, plus water Pace for 1 hr Push for 2hrs Rest for 1 hr and feed 2 cups per dog, plus water Pace for 3hrs Push for 2 hrs Rest for 2 hrs and feed 2 cups per dog, plus water Pace for 2 hrs Rest for 2 hrs and feed 2 cups per dog, plus water

Team Thor Goals Push for 1 hrs Pace for 2 hrs
Rest for 2 hrs, feed 4 cups of food and water Push for 1 hrs Pace for 2 hrs
Rest for 1 hrs, feed 4 cups of food and water Push for 1 hrs Pace for 2 hrs
Rest for 2 hrs, feed 4 cups of food and water Push for 1 hrs Pace for 2 hrs
Rest for 1 hrs, feed 4 cups of food and water According to my calculation, I might actually reach Skwentna checkpoint at this point. If so, I'll rest ^^ Otherwise...
Push for 1 hrs Pace for 2 hrs Rest for 3 hrs, feed 4 cups of food and water

I would assume checkpoints have hot meals, showers maybe if you're lucky, possibly supplies, medical personnel etc? I think racers carry tents and sleeping bags to stop anywhere anytime on the trails (depending on terrain and weather of course). LOL again, I think all of my knowledge from the Iditarod is from Iron Will and maybe some sled dog knowledge from Eight Below, so I could be out in left field. I might have to watch those again to get in the spirit.
Also, upon searching for info on kcals this is what I found "Kcal in pet food is the same measurement as calories in human food. On human nutritional labels, calories are measured in kcals, but we shorten the word to “calories” in common use. Calories, or kcal, measure how much energy is present in a serving of food".

Royal Fluff is ready to go! Sorry I don't have a pic made yet, I wanted to make sure they could pull me okay before taking and editing pics, so I'll try and remember to get those done tomorrow! Since y'all have my amount of calories and I don't please make it add up to about 10,000 calories for the 24 hours(assuming that's what I need), divided into equal(or at least close to equal) parts between the feedings. Push for 2 hours Pace for 2 hours 2 hour rest, feed 4 cups and water dogs Push for 2 hours Pace for 2 hours 2 hour rest, feed 4 cups and water dogs Pace for 3 hours 1 hour rest, feed 4 cups and water dogs Pace for 2 hours 3 hour rest, feed 4 cups and water dogs Push for 2 hours Pace for 1 hour If one of my rests is set up close to me reaching a checkpoint I'd rather rest at the checkpoint if it's an hour off either way(so say if I'm 45 minutes from Skwentna and I hit my rest, I'd rather pace the 45 minutes and then take my rest there, same if I'm about to go past a checkpoint but I'm planning a rest in an hour or less). That is if that's not a huge pain, if it is then don't worry about it ~Vanilla

I will run hard for 1.5 hours Rest for .5 hour give dogs a small snack and water. Moderate pace for 4 hours Rest for 1 hour
Rinse and repeated until in reach a check point for rest or run out of hours.
((I'll do better tomorrow. Sorry. Got tangled with RL birthday stuff and forgot to do it earlier.))

Woot! Yay! This is always so exciting <3 Thank you guys so much for running this, I know it takes a lot of work!
********************************************* First day of the race and it all went well! Team Jet Flare passed us up but we seem to be staying ahead of the other teams so far. We made it to mile marker 81 we made it to the Skwentna checkpoint and are headed to Finger Lake now. Hoping to make it further than that today. We hear there is a Blizzard on it's way and we are hoping to avoid that!
Checking out my team, I noticed Maree ended up cracking her paw. I tended to it and put her booty back on. I'll let her rest in the sled today to help it heal.
Wake up & Feed 2 cups of food per dog & give water. Get dogs hooked back up to the sled. 2 hours Push 2 hours Pace 2 hours Stop and rest for 1 hour, feed 2 cups food per dog & give water Push for 1 hour Pace 1 hour Push 1 hour Pace 1 hour Stop and rest for 1 hour, feed 2 cups food per dog & give water Push 1 hour Pace 1 hour Push 1 hour Pace 1 hours Stop and rest 1 hour, feed 2 cup food per dog & give water Push 1 hour Pace 1 hour Push 1 hour Pace 2 hours Stop and rest 2 hours, feed 4 cups food per dog & give water + Check dogs over for injuries and such
Total hours ran: 8 Total hours paced: 9 Total hours rested: 7 Total cups fed: 12

After unintentionally running my poor dogs into the ground, I spent the day camped in the snow while funneling 17 cups of food into the team. All the while profusely apologizing to them.
I noticed some bite marks on both my swing dogs, Kinser and Okami. I pull out the first aid kit and treat the wounds as best I can.

Announcement #5 Howdy all! A quick annoucement for today!
We realize that there were some typos in the updated stats for each team sent out last night. We are currently working to get that fixed, because we didn't notice it until this morning. It should be fixed for day 2. The numbers given for Speed, Endurance, and Strength are good, ignore everything else
If your dog has an absurd amount of endurance, they actually don't, they can't go higher than the endurance stat you assigned to them. Sadly we haven't figured out how to make the computer take the cap into account, so I'm having to do that manually.
Finally, due to the new way of entering things. If you could put a total number of hours paced and pushed at the bottom of your decisions, I would love you forever. Thank you!
PS. This is LB, I have a test account to check things on the forum, and for some reason my phone logged that in instead of my normal account today .Sorry!!!
