Oh wow! This is so amazing and amusing! LOL I had no idea that pigz could eat non-food items and that they had their own unique behaviors! HAHA this is awesomesauce! After reading all of this I really want a pet pig. I've never had one before. I'm thinking I want to hex myself one, but I don't know what I want it to look like. I think I'll look up some RL pic pictures for inspiration. Once I get myself a piggy I will totally accept your challenge and see what weird things I can get my pig to eat!
I'm so sorry you lost your notes though, that's really a shame. But don't feel stupid, stuff like that happens to everyone. *hug*
I look forward to reading more of your experiments on pig behavior!
Hmm.... this makes me wonder, do bunnies have any quirks or behaviors we don't know about?

Meer I think there's a pig still on the DG AC that needs a home ;) (at least last time I recall looking) There might also be a bunny ;) dj7.proboards.com/thread/7883/advent-calendar-2019-happy-boxingI believe that bunniez are not as personality-wise unique as pigz are. At least that's what the hacking discord says. I wonder how true it is because I've not owned a bunny and played with them myself either :(

Oh oh oh! I should try to see if older pigz can eat bigger stuff! Good plan! I still want a fourth pig, a cream or white coloured pig with a big orange spot. I'd call the pig Eggs. #BlameBuckForPrinciple #Melon #SleighWithMe

Experiment 7: let's go to the beach Today I took out all three pigz to see if they would dig around at the beach and most importantly to see if they would eat the animated hermit crabs. I'm also curious to see if they dig or not. So far they've been frolicking around with the Frisbee and the stick I have at the beach. They seem to really like it here. (60) 48 Hermit crab (25) 70 Hermit crab with Hamsee Boarjamin my useless little friend seems only invested in sniffing- HAMSEE JUST ATE THE ANIMATED HERMIT CRAB! Well that was a short experiment. Within the first minute they basically ate what I was trying to see if they ate it. The other one is still there and pops out every now and then but it doesn't feel too safe. Hamsee also seems to enjoy playing fetch. And they chase and try to fetch the frisbee. Bacon likes the frisbee. Where was I? Oh yes Boarjamin seems to not be eating objects and him being a hex makes me rather suspicious about this. He's also suspicious/worried/scared of a lot of things he sees. since we hit the beach they have been running around and doing sort of dive rolls (they roll over head first. maybe it's called a front flip or a summer sault, I don't know if there's a specific word) They're really excited being out of the pig pen for today. They also enjoy gazing. (98) 102 Hermit crab (25) 9 Hermit crab To test Boarjamin I spray bottled him, he liked it so I do think he IS a pig. his file also states he's a piglet. It's just a little weird that he doesn't eat weird stuff. Maybe his scared pig personality means he doesn't eat as much weird stuff. We'll see. I might adopt an extra actual pig. Boarjamin keeps picking up the hermit crab but nothing else has really happened. Boarjamin drank some water from the bowl too. Hamsee is eyeing the crab and running at it. He rolled over in front of it and the crab ducked back into his shell. A yellow shell washed up on the beach and instead of eating it Hamsee picked it up. bacon ran at the hermit crab happily and picked it up. Thus far only one hermit crab has been harmed during the making of this slice of ham. (And yes I am sure it was an actual walking talking hermit crab before letting them eat it) Boarjamin keeps looking at a shell with worry, I think Boarjamin is worried Hamsee will eat this shell too. I removed the other pigz to see if Hamsee would start digging around is alone. Hamsee is sniffing around on the beach. There's just Hamsee. a hermit crab and a ball now. She rolled over a bunch of times now from side to side ( a barrel roll?) Hamsee keeps interested in the only lonely hermit crab but has not yet engaged this petit four. Hamsee ate the second hermit crab. I am now out of hermit crabs. It was out of the shell moments before so, hermit crab eating confirmed. #BlameBuckForPrinciple #Melon #SleighWithMe

XD But then maybe my new pig would like a friend, so I can see how two pigz interact together and how that differs from how dogz and catz interact together. So thanks for the heads up!
That's a shame bunniez don't have such unique personalities, I think they should since they are so cute. I have three bunniez, but they are hexed based on Carolyn's breedable bunny file, so they may not act like the original bunniez.
But anyway, I will be introducing my new piggy tomorrow, tonight I am way too tired and need some sleep.

Experiment 8: The one with the snow Today I had a snow playdate planned (well it was somewhere last year I had it planned but I ended up doing it today) So I figured i'd do some casual experimenting with the pigz whilst livestreaming my playdate. I was very tired so it's just a small update on my discoveries today: Hamsee and Bacon ate a bunch of snowballs during my playdate. They also ate a piece of coal and Hamsee rode a sleigh. Here's some pictures to enjoy Next time we'll do some more serious experimenting again! Snowballs fill 3 food yet again. I think all weird stuff do that. But I'm not completely sure because I haven't tested all the weird stuff for fullness yet haha. #BlameBuckForPrinciple #Melon #SleighWithMe

I watched this happen! The snowballs made a really crunchy, dry sound (like treats) I believe? This doesn't seem like an appropriate sound but it makes me wonder about the sound of eating lights and cheese xD

But at least that way I can HEAR them eat stuff when it's too crowded for me to see it #BlameBuckForPrinciple #Melon #SleighWithMe

No slice of ham today, I'm quite busy with doing things responsible adults do. However we do have this nifty news article all the way from whiskerwick: whiskerwick.boards.net/thread/7223/pigz-weirdThank you Creampanda/Schafpanda! for writing this nice post about the recent pig research! Hey folks! Resident pig fanatic here! I'm here to relay some weird stuff we've found out about pigz on reflet 's discord server. I think I've already talked about how pigz are genetically weird in the past, but... this isn't about that. It's about how, from an AI/behavior standpoint, pigs are the weirdest breed of dog in the whole game.
On the technical side of things... pigz have their own "state machine", on top of the normal dogz "state machine." I don't think anyone's really done a writeup on what the "state machine" is yet, so... basically it's all the possible AI behaviors a pet can have. Stuff it can want to do. Basically, pigs have thoughts that dogs don't have. Crazy, right?
Which means it's theoretically possible for hexers to make wildz with unique behaviors someday. What does this mean for... actual gameplay, though? Some exciting things, actually! @blackbird26 's been doing some experiments with pigz in Duke's Group, after sappire noticed that her pigz seem to eat bug barns. The two biggest things so far are: 1. Pigz eat inedible toyz. Bug barns, tennis balls, jingle balls, flowers, flower seeds, christmas ornaments, christmas lights, snowballs, coal, and hermit crabs (yes, live and whole!) are all things Bird has observed pigz eating so far. Eating non-food always restores 3 fullness and 0 fatness for a pig. The only rule so far seems to be that the toy has to have an internally coded size-value of 25 or smaller. So beach balls are safe, but watch out for your smaller trinkets when your pigz are out.
2. Pigz LIKE the spray bottle. Love it, even. They don't gain neglect when sprayed, will often do pleased-looking animations when sprayed, and the information bar at the bottom of the screen will even tell you that the sprayed pig was rewarded, not punished, for whatever behavior it's been doing. They also often do the "pleased" animation for snowballs, too.
Pigz also seem to have a few more subtle special behaviors ("pig marching," "truffle hunting," rooting, dirt-rolling, pushing stuff with their snouts), but I thought those first two things were by far the most "lolwtf" findings so far. Hope you enjoy this information! #BlameBuckForPrinciple #Melon #SleighWithMe

Experiment 9: Accidental discovery So the other day I wasn't really slice of hamming, just had the hogz out with a bunch of hairballs to see if they'd feast on them to freak out one of my dear dukelings. They didn't touch any of them. but whilst I was away working on some art for the iditarod one of the pigz decided to leave me a nice little surprise! If you look at the right side of the picture there's the start (or nearly end) of a hole! So we now know that pigz CAN in fact dig holes. Besides the fact that they look like they dig around So tiny confirmation there! I hope to slice some actual chunks of ham soon-ish but I've been tired lately and do have something called real life to slow down the ham slicing. Thank you for reading! #BlameBuckForPrinciple #Melon #SleighWithMe
