Lesson #2- Down
Homework Assignment #2 is to teach your dog to down. This should be the alert down, not the relaxed down. Get a different treat than you used yesterday to teach sit. You don't want your puppy getting confused! Wiggle it below your puppy and wait for it to do a down. Drop the treat and pet your puppy! Repeat this 2-3 times to be sure they understand what you want. Now play a fun game with your pet that they like and note down what treat you used to teach them down! Good luck! You have all of today to get your homework in!

Puppy's Name: Purity Homework Assignment #: 2 (Down) 3-5 Pictures of pup in training: Picture of completed task: Notes: Purity did pretty good today, took her a little bit to learn the down, but she got it in the end. Roaches kept coming in the kitchen and distracting her. Then for some reason she got really mad at me. At first I thought it was because of the chicken treats because she'd do it everytime she had a chicken treat. But then she stopped doing it and wanted more... so I'm really not sure why she was mad. She was growling and barking at me. Puppy's Name: Ritzy Homework Assignment #: 2 (Down) 3-5 Pictures of pup in training: Picture of completed task: Notes: Ritzy did good, it took her a while though. She kept wanting to do the relaxed down instead. She got it in the end though

Very good Vanilla on what you were able to get. Again, I think it's a program glitch. I've tried for DAYS before to get a dog to lie down in p5 and never could. P4 I've had the problem too. So I'd say just keep going with the rest of the class, don't worry too much about the down. They can still pass the class with out doing everything 100% Thanks for getting them in! Also wanted to say sorry I was gone all weekend (didn't realize I would be) so am a little behind with everything. Here's the next one: Lesson #3- Come Homework Assignment #3 is to teach your dog to come to you when you call! Your dog should learn to come to you no matter what! For this, get some treats handy, but leave them in the box. Now move your hand away from your puppy and whistle. Your puppy should come running over to you. If he or she does, give lots of petting and a treat! You can also use a toy and play a short game with them if you want. Continue moving your hand away from your puppy and calling them. Keep making it harder by adding in distractions like other toys, moving toys, and calling them while they are chasing a toy. Once they are able to come and not having those distractions bothering them, bring out another pet and let them play for a moment. Now try calling your pet while they are playing. Be sure to give lots of praise and rewards when they do! You should now have a puppy that will come no matter what! If your puppy doesn't come, pick them up then set them down and try again.

Sorry about the day on my entries! I was off the computer completely for two days after signing up because I was really busy, and then I was just on few a little while the couple days afterward from being busy, etc. I havn't even opened a few a my naturally raised petz profiles in a while because of how tired I've been w/ my work scheduel, but I'm not working nearly as much this week, and I'll have time to catch up on these entries. So I'll get myself up to date on this today and tomorrow when I have time. Sorry about that <3
