The Assignments
Day #1-
Today is a really fun and easy day. Basically, we're just seeing where are petz are at and where they need improvement, as well as what they find most rewarding.
So, first of all, bring your pet out and bring out every ball you have in the toy closet. Let your pet pick out it's favorite ball. This will be the ball you use to reward with during training sessions. Do the same with the food bowls. Once you have their favorites, keep them handy in the supply case. You might also add a box of treats to keep on hand.
Now, bring your pet to the playpen in p4, or the desktop in p5 (you want a room where the food and/or toy isn't going to bounce around, and a room with no distractions)
Once you're there, give them the food and let them eat. Once they are done eating, put the food away and call them to your hand. When they come, pet and reward them. You can just pet, or you can also give a treat or a toss of the ball. Practice calling them and having them follow you around the screen. Do this until they have 0 hesitation when you call them, even if you just pet them.
Now that they have a good recall and they will follow your hand, let them do their own thing.
*Note* Remember, if you pet them, be sure to pick them up and set them back down before taking pics, otherwise they will do a skinny pose which is not what you want.
While they are doing their own thing, start clicking the camera. I recommend waiting around 3 seconds in between each click. Remember to count each click of the camera! This is important! (Make sure Auto Save is off) Now, click until they go into a stack. Right now we aren't worried about direction, alignment, or anything. We just want to let them know what they are supposed to do. As soon as they go into a stack (be sure to take the picture & remember how many clicks it took to get them to do it) then pet them like crazy. Pet them until they fall asleep. Let them take their well deserved nap! While they nap, save your pictures as this:
Pet's Name Stack # - Date - How many clicks it took
Example: NeraS1-2911-10Clicks
This way when you are filling in your form, you don't have to remember anything XD It's all right there in the pic.
Now, once they wake up, give them another pet, some more food if they want it, and a toss of the ball. Play for a minute, then put everything away and repeat the process. For today, continue petting them until they fall asleep each time they stack.
Aim for 5 stacks for today, it's okay if you don't get that many though, if they get too tired to work, call it a day
Day #2
Will post once at least one person completes day 1 It's too late to type them all out tonight XD
