Thank you! I love sharing my progress, so I'm glad you like seeing it.
Leona Gameplay Challenge - Day 1 of 7 Day One Get to know your new petz. What is your pet's name and gender, what did you name them? What is your initial impression of your new petz?
I missed participating in and hosting Gameplay challenges so I took the list of challenges from Litterz Factory and scooped up Leona. Naturally, I'll rewrite the challenges to fit a single pet.
Leona of AngryKitten Female American Shorthair
Many of you might already know a little about Leona from my posts about her in Duke's Group. She's my only show cat right now and though she is not A-reg at PKC, I'm still working on fully titling her. Breeding isn't in her future, but she's such a sweet cat I doubt she'll have problems making lots of friends anyway. She was adopted in May 2015. I'm going to start entering her in pose shows as well.
I already know that she's compatible for me - she likes dress up and is pretty cooperative when it comes to training. The only training she isn't so into is trick training. Overall, I really like her! I had American Shorthairs come out until I found a cat I really liked, so I'm not very surprised.
See you again soon Leona! The rest of this challenge is gonna be fun.
Leona Gameplay Challenge - Day 2 of 7 Day Two Go catch some rays (to the beach)! What is your petz' favorite toy(s)?
I was so sick yesterday that I was hardly able to sit up, nevermind get any hexing done. That I was able to talk about Leona at all was a miracle. Anyway.
It's been so cold here that it seemed nice to get out and enjoy some warmer weather with my virtual fur baby. I like to dress my petz up in costumes so I put an eyepatch and bandana on her and off we went!
It didn't take long for Leona to play with all the toys in the scene, after all there were only 2! Knowing she enjoyed fetch, I tossed the frisbee and the beach ball for her, but she didn't spend too much time with them.
When a shell finally washed up, she pushed it around a little, gave it a good sniff and eventually just fell asleep!
After a nap and some lunch, I took Leona into the playroom to figure out what her favorite toy was! I separated them all into categories.
Balls are any toy that's... well, a ball. This includes the jingle ball but does not include the auto-rolling ball. Includes the yarn ball, not pictured.
Thrown toys are frisbees, the boomerang and the stick. Suitable for fetch, but not a ball.
Plushies include all plushies. That includes the parrot, the leprechaun but the pumpkin is not included. Includes the shoe.
Moving toys are things like the plane, the auto rolling ball and the toy car.
Lastly are owner toys. That doesn't mean that they're for me! It means that the pet needs me to play with them. These include the hoops, the rubber tug toy.
Of the balls, Leona played with the soccer ball the most. She played with the tennis ball a little bit and pushed around pounced on the blue circus ball, but she seemed to prefer the soccer ball - she played with it despite other toys in the room rolling around.
Of the thrown toys, she preferred to carry the stick, but the yellow disk is the one she actually played with most. She even brought it to me to toss for her! I even tossed the plane toy for her, since it's technically thrown, but she didn't seem especially interested. At first, it intimidated her and I think she pounced on it to stop it. XD
Except for the shoe, she played with all of the plushies! She even walked through them a number of times and sat among them before deciding on which to play with first. She picked the little bear first and it turned out to be the toy that she came back to the most. For laughs, I brought out the pumpkin to see how she'd react. She didn't seem to like it.
Of the moving toys, Leona preferred the auto-rolling ball. I already tried the plane earlier but yeesh. Leona completely ignored the car in favor of that auto-rolling ball! It really set off her hunting instincts.
Finally, it wasn't hard to figure out what her favorite of the owner toys was. She couldn't seem to figure out what to do with the red tug toy and the silver hoop was the one that we'd practiced jumping with before. She was so tired after all that she was ready for a nap. Oh well! We'll just play more tomorrow.
I can kinda see it, actually! I think the colors match a little, too.
Leona Gameplay Challenge - Day 3 of 7
Day Three Introduce your pet to some of your other petz. What is your petz' favorite food?
Hey Leona! I have a surprise for you today! There's cocoa, dog food, cat food and leftovers!
Check it out! It's a feast! We're going to figure out what your favorite food is today. I used the slider to drain her fullness and watched to see which bowl she would pick. It didn't take her long to decide.
Once she did decide on the green cat bowl, I interrupted her meal to see if she'd pick something else. She ran right for the green food bowl again. So I did it again, but this time, she was visibly annoyed with me. I guess we've figured out her favorite food pretty quickly.
When it came time to make some new friends, her choice was limited. She'd already met Buzzie and the two got along famously. Who else could she meet?
Who else but my two new mixed cats? It was an opportunity for me to get to know them a little better too.
When Leona met Cherry, she seemed a bit nervous, and she should have been!
Every chance he had, he pounced on Leona and they would roll on the floor for a while. It was cute at first, but I think Leona was getting tired of it. She just wanted to play with the yarn ball I set out for them but she'd pounce on the ball, he'd pounce on her. There was nothing malicious about it either! She didn't seem to mind and would give him kitty kisses back while they played. I just wish they'd given me more to talk about.
When it was time to put Cherry away, Leona frowned and slunked into the corner. Poor girl.
When Leona met Rebel, Leona seemed nervous and, again she should have been.
Rebel also pounced Leona but I don't think she wanted to be friends. They started fighting right away! I was a little surprised since Rebel and Cherry got on so well. I guess everybody can't be friends with everybody! I put Rebel away and Leona seemed indifferent. Can't say I blame her!
Sorry about the delay! Thanksgiving kinda threw a wrench into my schedule. I have time now, but this one still has to run a little short. XD Also playing with the idea of giving Leona a voice for these.
Leona Gameplay Challenge - Day 4 of 7 Day Four Go explore afar (visit the circus, the wild west, etc.)! Dress up your pet as they explore!
"Dress up your pet as they explore!" Dress up? That's my favorite thing to do with petz!
L: Ugh, I have to dress up again? K: Relax, Leona, this'll be fun!
L: Fine. How do I look, Ma? K: Ready to wrangle up some tumbleweeds! L: ... People don't actually do that, do they?
L: I hate you. C: I hate you, too.
We'd visited the Wild West before so I knew Leona didn't get along with the Chihuahua host, so I'd hoped that she and I could enjoy playing with the tumbleweeds instead. No such luck, though! The host showed up and the two made angry noises at each other. They never got into any fights and actually wound up ignoring each other instead! It was nice to see a disagreement that didn't lead to a vicious fight.
It didn't take long for things to get tense, so we moved on with our adventure.
L: Uhm. Yarr? J : Sure.
We visited the south seas next and I was worried when the host came out right away. The kind admiral got along with Leona famously, though! At first, they were both nervous and spent a long time sniffing each other, but I guess the careful inspection paid off. Leona has a new friend! Hooray for new friends!
My hexies just aren't working out. Aaaaaugh! I'm taking a break.
Leona Gameplay Challenge - Day 5 of 7 Day Five Teach your new petz some tricks (or try to)! Boogie-down. Do your petz like to dance to the music box?
Since tomorrow would be the first day of December, I traded in Leona's white collar with some Flannel. That'll keep her cozy warm! Afterwards, we had a quick dinner and it was time to get to work.
Being a catz, Leona had some difficulty learning to do any tricks. So instead, we tried other types of training!
First, I tried to get her to play fetch with me. We'd played it in the past but this time, she didn't seem to want to have any of it. She didn't want to let go of her soccer ball! We did have a compromise and we did some jump training. She got to keep her soccer ball.
Next, we tried dancing to the music box. She didn't seem to get into the rhythm so much as she wanted to redecorate and put the music box on top of the mantle. Rather than dance, she just kept picking it up and jumping onto the furniture. Maybe she wanted me to put it away or she wanted to shut it off? Who knows!
Thor: I did a bit of a clean up in the Adoptions board. If your adoptions are old (6 months is like the rule) feel free to close the thread and take any extra petz elsewhere
