Announcement #2
Good Evening all! Team cards just went out, here is a quick video on how to fill them in. Please post questions here so they aren't lost in the FB chat. That way others who have the same questions can read the answers. Also, there are more videos coming to explain things like weather, terrain, breed bonuses, rescue, and more.

Can we check and doctor dogs paws when we rest on the trail and at checkpoints?

You can. But the only way to cure a cracked paw pad quickly is to put that dog on the sled and let them rest for a day.

But will paw maintenance on trail help prevent cracked paws? Day 1Run for 4 hours Rest 1 hour (Feed dogs 1 cup of food mixed with water and check/doctor paws) Pace for 4 hours (Somewhere in this time should be where the storm is based on my teams avg speed) Rest 30 Minutes (After we get through Storm)(Water and check/doctor paws) Run 5 hours Pace 3 hours Rest 3 1/2 hours (Feed dogs 1 1/2 cup of food mixed with water and check/doctor paws) Pace 3 hours (Note: Put any dogs with injured/ cracked paws on sled up to max, place any others in slightly less stressful/physically taxing positions such as a team dog near the wheel dogs)

No it won't,the max amount of dogs that can go on the sled is three, and there is no easy pulling positions.
