Quick question- Does staying on the trail vs at a checkpoint have any effect on the team? I remember it did in the first year we did it, but I'm not sure if that is still a thing to worry about or not.
* Checking dogs over I found that Tikaani had cracked his paw so I put some ointment on it and threw a booty on his paw to keep it protected. Tikaani and Timber also got in a fight out on the trail, Timber is hurt. I tended to his wounds and decided to put him on the sled for today. The dogs seemed well rested so I hooked them all up and we were ready to head out.*
Pace 4 hours Stop and rest for 2 hours, feed 1 cup food per dog & give water Pace 4 hours Stop and rest for 2 hours, feed 1 cup food per dog & give water Pace 4 hours *If I did my math right, I should be close to Nikolai Checkpoint now or at the checkpoint. I'd like to pace to the Nikolai Checkpoint. I should hit it at 2 hours in, but I put 4 to be safe. I don't want to pace more than 4 hours though.*
Stop and Rest at the Nikolai Checkpoint, taking my 8 hour rest to wait out the crazy blizzard. Feed 2 cups food per dog & give water + Check dogs over for injuries and such upon arriving.
*If I don't hit the Nikolai Checkpoint then I will rest on the trail for 2 hours to feed and water then Pace again till Nikolai.*
If I am wrong on the checkpoints then let me know.

Since Trigger is hurt, I'll do what I can to treat his wounds, then I'm going to rest Trigger on the sleigh until we reach Nukoli. Since Queen has a case of diarrhea I'm going to monitor her as closely as I can to watch out for worse symptoms.
Rest 1 hour. Give dogs a snack. Pace 2 hours. Rest 1 hour. Give dogs 1 cup of food each and water. Push 2 hours. Rest 30 minutes. Give dogs a snack water dogs. Pace 3 hours. Rest 1 hours. Give dogs 2 cups of food each and water. Push 2 hours. Pace 1.5 hours. Rest 1 hour. Give dogs a 1 cup of food each and water. Pace for 4 hours. Rest for 2 hours. Pace for 1 hour. Rest for 2 hours. Give dogs a snack and water
If we reach the checkpoint at Nukoli at any point, we're taking the first 8 hour rest there, to wait out that storm. By my calculations I think we'll be close, but I'm not sure.
And sorry about yesterday LB, I didn't realize, and then I wasn't on for the rest of the day!
