Welcome to my kennel. I have two dogz who are very excited to meet you!
First up, let's get to know Pearce the Pyr. I hexed him to show at PKC, as I do with most of my petz. But unlike most of my other petz, he's been chosen to grow up naturally. His birthdate is May 20, 2018, so the timing is perfect.
Today we spent a lot of time exploring and trying new things so I could figure out what makes him tick.
After pulling out some toys, I found out Pearce LOVES the auto rolling ball. He's quite good at chasing and catching it, and spent a lot of time playing. He seemed interested in the frisbee, so we gave that a go. Unfortunatley, Pearce is clumsy! He did not catch the frisbee once, so it looks like we'll have to keep practicing. Looks like he's really good at jumping through the hoop, though. He didn't need much coaxing, and even managed to complete some flyball runs! (not depicted).
Then we played fetch. Pearce knew exactly what to do, and seemed like he would never tire of chasing the ball, then returning it to me. He was a pro! I almost forgot he's still a pup, until he tripped all over those big feet of his. He never let go of the ball, though.
Next up let's try some bravery tasks. Pearce had no fear when he was put on the tall stool, and was brave enough to jump down right away. At first, he was a little weary of the basket, but then he warmed up and let me put him inside it. Then came the Jack-o-lantern test, and man, did Pearce not like it at all! He stood wide eyed and stunned for a moment, before tearing away from the creepy flickering thing. I don't know if he'll ever grow to like that toy.
I figured it was about time to feed the poor frightened thing, so time to find out what food he likes best. This traditional guy likes his silver food bowl, and gobbled down the whole bowl. He ate even after he was full, and felt the affects once he was done. He recovered pretty quickly, though, and I figured he needed some treats to finish off his meal. I brought out the cheese, and he loved it! We tried a few tricks, and Pearce performed sit and down rather willingly. After all that exploring and a hearty meal, he finally settled down for a long snooze on his pillow of choice. Sweet dreams to a sweet pup.
