My baby Omella, eldest athlete Hershel, and his son Ciervo had fun doing lure coursing yesterday. They had a blast chasing the ball, following it when it was in my hand, and jumping and hanging on to it when I was holding the auto-ball xD Hershel was the most eager to catch it and whack it with his paw.
I  entered these three in Amy's Lure Coursing Trial #3. Ciervo won fourth place, Hershel at seventh, and
Omella actually won first place! I'm grateful and proud of her because this is the first time she's ever won anything before. She's not as acrobatic as my other dogz, but I really want her to shine like the star she is <3

We have a new puppy who was born just a few days ago <3 His parents, Hershel and Starlight, were in love right before the Summer Olympics this year and they had his siblings Ciervo, and Astro, who competed in the Summer Olympics. However, his brothers didn't have great Acrobatics value like their parents, so I knew I wanted to breed them again after the SumOly.
Their parents also fell out of love and used to fight, but they finally made up and now we have this cutie patootie <3 I love watching our family grow and I just love baby puppies


I wasn't sure what to name him at first, but I decided on the name Cosmo because his brother Astro, and his mother Starlight are both named with a star-theme.

I love his soft-looking brown fur and pink eyes.
It looks like he got his eye-colour from his grandpa Quinoa, and great-great-great grandma Quail! His fur colour is likely from his great-great-great grandpa Reeses. (Check the family pedigree in this thread for reference) 

He's a lively baby so far. He stood up and opened his eyes the day he was born. His mommy Starlight is dearly fond of him. She's been nursing him and sometimes she carries him to a different part of the play-scene. He's currently age 9, and not yet old enough to find out his acrobatic value through the personality revealing program I have; although I hope he'll have a high enough value to be the next heir to the Auvieay throne, it really doesn't matter because I'm going to love him up either way <3 



I introduced him to his older brothers thinking they might play, but they acted more like babysitters as they observed him. I guess he's still too small to play.

Today I wanted to let Cosmo the puppy choose his favourite stuffed animal toy, so I sat out a bunch of new toyz I downloaded and brought him out. He spent a while just gazing at the toyz, unsure of what to do. However, while he was contemplating, a squirrel popped on scene right in front of him! He pounced and caught the squirrel on his first try! he might just be a natural-born hunter.





In the end he just couldn't decide which toy he liked the best, instead of playing with the toyz
he enjoyed waddling around the backyard and walking on two legs. He still has his baby fat, lol.

Now that Cosmo is older I let him socialize with his brothers.



When he encountered Astro, he seemed irritated at him and I'm not sure why, but I think he knows it's important to be kind to his brother because he started grooming him. It was tricky getting pictures of these two interacting because they're scared of the camera shutter, lol. Cosmo didn't have much to say to Astro and was happy when I put him away. He even waved as if to say "Thank you!"


Now let's see if he likes his oldest brother, Ciervo, more...


Cosmo and Ciervo got along together very well! They play fought a little bit, tossed a frisbee back and fourth, and just seemed to enjoy each other's company. Ciervo was even grooming little Cosmo, how sweet!




Also, I noticed Astro and Ciervo kept wanting to take naps. I can't help but wonder if they're lethargic because I don't feed them routinely. Some petz owner I am, oof, haha.

I just realized how Cosmo is only age 12 but he's the same size as both of his fully grown brothers. He'll be a good sized adult doggy. I love his white markings

Today I introduced Cosmo to the bubble machine. At first he wasn't sure what to think about it, but he soon picked it up and proceeded to waddle around holding it :3 He's so cute hehe.


I captured this gif of him <3 He also happens to be displaying his brexed orange paw-pads, thanks to Buck for showing me how to change paw-pad colour Starting now, this is going to be a special signature trait for all Auvieay puppies born to have orange paw-pads. Orange is my favourite colour, and I just think it's neat for my dogz to have an identifying feature in common.

Cosmo has a new little sister! Her name is Doea Rae. My aunt named her because I told her I wanted a deer themed name since all of Cosmo's siblings have either deer or celestial themed names. 

 

Just look how tiny she was when she was born! So far she's the smallest of all her siblings. She's also the only baby girl in her family. In the picture you can see mother Starlight, brother Cosmo, and her aunt Davina observing her drinking milk.

 


As you can see, Cosmo is such a peppy puppy! But he certainly misses being the baby because he is jealous of Doea Rae.
Doea Rae gets irritated with him because he barks at her in a bullying tone, so as a result these two can't stop decking each-other by pouncing, hahaha. I even captured it on the gif below Hehe





On the breeding project side of things, Doea Rae has an acrobatic value of 30, whereas her brother has a value of 0. Although, what Cosmo lacks in acrobaticness, he makes up for with energy and zeal! These two will make great competitors for this year's Winter Olympics or next year's Summer Olympics

Photo-dump I've been meaning to share. I discovered Doea Rae and Cosmo both like to sway to the music



I also introduced these two, who are my youngest Auvieay, to their oldest ancestors!
Cosmo got to meet his greatX3 grandfather, Reeses pup. They barked "hi" at each other and ran around happily.


Doea Rae on the other hand, wasn't so happy about her greatX4 grandma, Quail. They seemed irritated at each other, but they did play wrestle a little bit

Phew, it's been a long time since I've posted any updates here! But I do have a couple of announcements to make.
After breeding eight puppies from Hershel in attempt to acquire a suitable heir to continue the line, I decided to put the last four pups in the same generation against each other in an athletic competition called The 2024 Spring Pupcup and let's just say there was definitely some entertaining rivalry

I have three pups who participated in my PupCup (Tang, Baby, and Nova) who are currently up for adoption if anyone wants to adopt part of the family <3
