For those unable to watch the video right now and need to make your decisions, basically, you want to take weather and terrain into consideration when making your decisions. You'll also want to be sure to feed your dog enough calories to get you through the day.
Your decisions should add up to 24 hours. Try to not push your dogs too hard and get some rest along with snacks! If you're still confused, please ask questions either here, fb chat, or discord chat. Looking at other peoples decisions can also help!
******************************************************************************* Here are my decisions for the day. Might change with the weather report.
Push 2 hours Pace 2 hours Stop and rest for 1 hour, feed 4 cups food per dog & give water Push for 1 hour Pace 1 hour Push 1 hour Pace 1 hour Stop and rest for 2 hours, feed 2 cups food per dog & give water Push 1 hour Pace 1 hour Push 1 hour Pace 2 hours Stop and rest 1 hour, feed 2 cup food per dog & give water Push 1 hour Pace 1 hour Push 1 hour Pace 2 hours Stop and rest 2 hours, feed 4 cups food per dog & give water + Check dogs over for injuries and such

Ok, so in the race chat Andrew mentioned we should have 10,000 calories per dog per day, but he mentioned home feeding?
If we're posting for our 24hrs, shouldn't we try to add up to that calorie goal with the amount of feedings?

Yes, I think so Buck. I'm not sure how many calories my food is... so I wasn't 100% what to put for my serving sizes but I figured last years decision of 1 cup per dog per rest was not enough XD
And the home feeding was just a comparison I believe.
And I have no idea how to figure out how many calories is in what I'm feeding since I'm mixing the kibble with real beef and chicken.

Starting at Anchorage, and skipping the first checkpoint, the checkpoint, Yetna Station, is 53 miles from Anchorage. How do we know the speed of our sled? I assume pushing is full speed and pacing is half speed?
Also jumping on the food question, my food says 526 kcal/cup, which I assume is 5,260 cal/cup? That's quite a lot.

I'm really not sure on that Thor. I believe we get an average speed for our team depending on everyone's speed stats, but I also think it was decided that it'd be based on your slowest dog this year? I'm not 100%. But everything else also comes into play with weather, terrain, and the weight of your sled. So... just do your best. Focus on using up the 24 hours and LB will let us know where we made it when the race is ran.

I can't answer the specifics for the math, my hubby handled all of that. I'm in the same boat as everyone else. Just run the race as best you can, it'll be ok. Honest.
