A puppy with two mothers (Natural raising thread)

So long story short, my naturally raised pupper Quail fell in love with a dog I least expected...
my purebred Great Dane Mia, another lady dog! Today Quail was due to give birth, the moment she carried her newborn out for everyone to see she looked just as shocked as I was that this whole thing actually happened xDDD



I decided yesterday that I was going to name her puppy after a bird, but preferably a bird name that starts with the letter M, because Quail is named after a bird and the other mother Mia's name starts with an M.

Magpie, Pheasant, and Dove were all on my girl name list, but Magpie takes the cake because of how cute I think it sounds, and because it starts with an M like I wanted ^_^




Everyone seemed pretty eager to gather around the baby, Reeses my other naturally raised doggo was being nice but curious, and once Quail even growled at him for being too close to her puppy! She'd never growled at him before By the way, Quail and Reeses are really good friends and if you'd like to see their lovely friendship together you can go here

She loves to look at her pup <3 Oh and I'm delighted that Magpie has precious cotton-candy pink eyes just like her parents do I thought she would! I was able to bottle-feed the baby a wee bit, and Quail struck a pose! I'd love to work on pose-training with her soon if she's not too infatuated with her young, but if she is I understand, because I will be too <3

I'll be naturally raising this lovely little lassie and getting to know her until she's 12 on the brainslider, I must mention I'll most likely keep this puppy, BUT there is a chance she may be for adoption when she's old enough to leave her mum so keep an eye out if Magpie steals your heart. (I'm sorry if I do keep her and disappoint anyone xD)

Awww Magpie is absolutely stunning I can't wait to watch her grow up. Reeses really wanted to check her out lol! They'll be playing and having fun soon enough!

Thank you Thor That's what I was wondering! but I think it's all the Great Dane influence, Mia is a 9th generation purebred so I think it gave Maggie a whole lot of Dane-like traits ^_^

So Magpie is now age 3 on the brainslider, I let the delightful parents out together and Quail seemed pretty glad!
she began to really enjoy me petting her, so naturally she laid down... but she did it while still holding her baby, then
she rolled on her back and got in some really odd positions holding her precious puppy! careful Quail

Quail: Am I doing it right? is this how you mother?

MsWildiful: No not really, take caution with your fragile baby xDD

So I've come to realise Quail is.. let's just say different xDDD But that's why I love her so much, so it's going to be
a treat to see how baby Maggie turns out, her mum is such a peculiar pup. Maybe the baby will be funky like her xP


After giving birth yesterday Quail was practically a skeleton!

She's always been on the thinner side but never this thin! poor girl, I offered her some candy floss and juicy berries, along with a nice chunk of meat, I think she's beginning to regain her muscle mass and average weight


MsWildiful: What's the matter Quail?
Quail: My fluffy *sarcasm "bundle of joy" took all of my muscle! I don't even feel fit to run, much less practice for the Flyball competition! I didn't know it would be like this.


MsWildiful: I'm sorry dearie, please eat your fill! things will get sweeter with your puppy too, she's going to be a-lot like you!



I was actually a little concerned because Quail seemed to be mad at her infant puppy! it's like is she going to reject her
young for no reason? that's like a bird who's babies have been touched (which is a myth btw) well I did name her after a bird, and I did pet her baby... wAiT nO QuAiL, you're not a wild bird! xDD I'm sure she'll bond with her puppy soon <3 she hasn't
nursed her yet, so I bottle fed little Maggie. I thought Maggie would be a cute nickname off Magpie <3


Little Ms Magpie laid preciously on a pillow while her mum snacks on berries <3 Ahhh she had her feetsies in the air
^_^ I love infant Petz, they're tiny adorable little pixels! Maggie's a wiggly little puppy, loves flailing her paws in the air ^_^

And for some reason Quail put her puppy down on the plate of food and seemed pretty pleased with herself xP
I guess mum can lick and clean her off haha.


Also, poor Mia the tall and mighty Dane is getting bullied by a dog who's 11x smaller than her xD Reeses even tripped her,
don't be so mean Reeses D: Blast :/



Mia just runs for the hills D: Reeses feels like because Mia is so much bigger than him he has to be the big-bad-dog
in attitude I guess xD As you can see he wrestled with her and she's enormous cradling the little dog haha.

and I just love when Mia lolls her long red tongue like Quail does haha.


And this is the best compilation I could make capturing the brutal harassment Mia faces when Reeses torments her with
his repetitive Dachie barks of doom Dx The look of utter fear and surprise on Mia's face as Reeses trips her xD
she's totally gobsmacked, and I assure you guys I don't let this go on for very long before I put Reeses away </3


And I'm not totally sure what's going on in these pictures, it's some weird mixed emotions I guess! Quail is snarling
while Mia eats? but in the one I took a moment later the loveliest most cartoony loose-tongue smile rises on Quail's face
admiring her pup, soooo yeah xD I've been having loads of fun with this groovy pack of mine, and I'm about to reveal a wonderful whiskery addition.... :3

Another update, finally! What happens is I love to play with my Petz, I also love to take pictures of my Petz... I struggle not to take pictures of my Petz (especially babies!) when I frolic with them, as a result we now have a cute mess of Petz pix spam xD
I can't help it, they just capture their personalities so well xP




I discovered Magpie is a trotter! and she makes the most precious whining sounds watching her mum eat <3
I forgot to mention she was a very vocal infant, loved to grunt, and even a few barks when she was crawling ^_^

So now at 9 on the brainslider Maggie is so happy to be able to run and trot along with her mother and uncle/brother
Reeses I've also learned she loves pushing toyz around, she'll trot over to one corner, push the ball of yarn, run down
to the bottom of my screen and nuzzle a towel! Awwww, such a funny playful trait xP the picture below is her trying to push stuff <3



As for Reeses and his rival Mia, the two seem to easily put their differences aside to play a beloved game of infinitely-chase-
the-auto-ball (Reeses being a goof in the top right corner xD )

As for the whiskered surprise I mentioned, I've been meaning to introduce them! (they're a couple of kittenz, I'm sure you've already guessed) but sadly it's too late tonight for me to put together more photo montages (as much as I'd love too) but I promise I'll reveal them soon

I gave my Reeses pup some one-on-one, I think he's a little envious of all the attention Me and new-mother Quail has been giving the baby, he's such a special little lad! I love how he wiggled his body excited to be brushed xP

A jump holding his carnivorous food! such talent in the little doggo, a real team player in the Summer Olympics What did I do to deserve such a good little dog?




He was shaking his tin-foil doll xD it was quite adorable and violent for such a little dog!





And the fire of love is still very much ignited between Mia and Quail ^_^ Ahhh I'll probably let them have one more puppy <3 It'd be nice if it was one a little more mixed-looking like Quail.

And thank you for giving me Reeses and  being a follower <3 He's so special and frolicsome with his Dachie personality ^_^ And I love  his tan chest and brown fur, he  really is the colours of the Reeses candy xD which I didn't realise before! Peanut butter and chocolate colours yay.

Now time for kittens!

Without further ado, meet Pippin and Pesto! I know they look nothing alike xD that's because they are two kittenz from two different breeders whom I bought on PUGS.



This little brown and white one was originally named Pippin who I won as
an auction for 13 pts, she was bred by Delighy and supposedly bred with an OW, but I forgot which OW was used to breed her! I'm sure we'll find out soon and I decided to keep her name because Pippin the kitten just sounds plum cute!

As for this stylish autumnal coloured orange Calico, I decided to name him Pesto!

because Pesto the Calico has a good ring to it, xP. So I'd love for everyone to meet Pesto the Calico, and Pippin the Kitten!


The only thing I've learned about them so far
is Pesto is terribly frightened of Pippin becauselittle kitten Pippin hisses at him Dx CheeriOh No.


I've played with them together the last couple days, captured some introduction pictures of them Besides Pippin's
dispise of Peso, they seem like sweet kits and thankfully Pippin isn't significantly mean! it's just she's a little rude and Pesto
is really skittish, sometimes I think Pesto just darts around because he's a scaredey cat (Poor Pesto hanging upside down on the ceiling Dx)
here's to hoping they'll become nice friends with time! I'm looking forward with spending more time with these two

You're probably wondering why I'm introducing these two here? well I'm thinking it would be lovely to raise
these kittens with my dear Magpie, she'll have some kitty friends and learn to be friendly with others as she develops which is always important for puppies and kittens I'm also considering hosting a playdate soon! and allow a few other people's petz to come over and visit Maggie mainly, but the whole family. Magpie could make some new friends!
