Bringing Training classes back to Duke's Group and this is our first class of 2020! This class will mostly be focused on getting your dog or puppy ready for everything at PKC. Which means...
We'll be focusing on;
* Obedience (Novice & Open tasks) * Petz Citizen Scheme Tasks * Posing ability for conformation and / or forum showing
We won't be covering Premier tasks because they vary by breed / group. I might open separate training classes for those if there is interest.
How this class works;
1. You sign your pet up (Only 1 at a time please or we'll both get overwhelmed) 2. I post a task each day once class starts 3. You post pictures of you doing that task with your pet 4. I will give feedback & answer questions if needed 5. At the end of the class, I will do a 'test' to see if your pet passes or not 6. If your pet passes, I will try to do a Certificate or something if I have time
By the end of this class;
Your pet should be ready to enter PKC Conformation, Obedience, and Petz Citizen Scheme! You'll also have a better bond with your pet and know more about them. We'll cheer each other on in the ring!
Ready? Sign up here:
*This class starts on: May 4th 2020 Once class starts, I won't be accepting any more sign ups until the next class. * Any age is welcome! Age 12-100
To sign up, simply post a picture of the dog / puppy you are signing up, along with their name.

Let's get this class started! Sorry for the wait!
::Task #1::
In order for your pet to do well in Obedience, Conformation, and Petz citizen tasks, there is one very handy thing for your petz to know that will help a lot! That thing is their recall. If they are good at coming to you and following your hand when you call them, you can get them to do just about anything.
So your first task is to have some treats handy, and practice randomly calling your pet to your hand. When they get to your hand, pet them and toss a treat out for them. Practice with no distractions, then during playing with toys, going to other playscenes, and even playing with other petz. Want to make it really...really tricky? Practice calling them away from something they want in the carry case or away from a ball you throw or a treat laying on the ground.
You can also practice calling your pet and moving your hand around the scene for them to follow. Reward for coming and following your hand.
Post your pics below and tell us how things went!

Class #1 -- Kelsey I think she did okay with recall. She did get distracted and sometimes would rebel when I called her once and awhile. We tried a crowded room with lots of toyz and things on high shelves. I played fetch with her and then called her and sometimes she'd come. I'm not sure if she's just quirky or doesn't like to be obedient. I gave her treats and pets and it sorta helped a bit. Wonder if she'll improve with time? Do dogz improve with daily training or is it like they kind of are who they are?

Almost late entry with Jazz! Decided if we're gonna do a challenge we're gonna do a challenge. Started out with her sister, Reggae out as a distraction They both thought I was pretty nuts clicking all over the place. When Jazzz finally decided to come Reggae decided to get a jump kick and send her rolling though. Moved to some 1 on 1 in the living room, Jazz did great! came away from distractions like the mice And even treats struggled with profile pics of her head butt she ran pretty straight! Until she got tiered. Then I wasn't worth the effort any more.
