Barbarian - Juno x Duvet Bard - Juno x Asterisk Cleric - Juno x Asterisk Druid - Franklin x Duvet Fighter - Franklin x Duvet Monk - Juno x Asterisk Paladin - Juno x Duvet Ranger - Franklin x Asterisk Rogue - Franklin x Duvet Sorcerer - Franklin x Asterisk Warlock - Juno x Asterisk
Wow you guys did really good! I'd have had a hard time with this since I wasn't paying attention to who the parents were as they were being bred.
The flirting between all pairs of catz got pretty intense. I thought for sure both girls were really into Juno, I mean he was the tall, calm, and handsome one. Franklin always seemed to just tackle and annoy everyone with his hyper.
But suddenly, Franklin came in and immediately won Duvet over and she was pregnant.
And then he worked his way over to Asterisk!
I was like "damn, this brother is gonna steal all the ladies!" But then-- he didn't. Almost as if they planned this...
Bard - Cleric - Monk - Ranger - Sorcerer Asterisk's chinchi bloodline is very strong here! It was obvious this was hers except little ranger but at least he had a RB face like his dad. I kind of wonder what Asterisk's parents are like? She's a mystery (maybe delighy can answer-- Beech and Gallo?).
Barbarian - Druid - Fighter - Paladin - Rogue - Warlock Franklin produced a lot of RB faces! They were brothers afterall-- its in his blood. When Primrose said she got a lot of Maine Coon mixes for Franklin and Juno's brothers I'm wondering how many Russian Blues she got too haha. A lot of these kittens have features that are very Duvet. Heck, Fighter looks like Duvet's mom x Franklin.
The two pairs of catz stayed true to their chosen partner? I did try to see if separating them would allow them to have a child with the other but it didn't (and I wasn't interested in spending more than 15 min waiting hahaha). They all flirt with each other but stayed pretty true to their partner. Kind of a cute happy ending kind of story there.
I decided to get one kitten from each pairing for myself-- I feel a bit greedy but I really wanted a kitten from each of the pairs. I'll keep Druid and Cleric and explain why with some photos in the next post :) (Spoiler tho-- they hate each other :crying: </3 )
Anyway... how did you do? (better than my guesses hahaha)
Picking one kitten from this litter was extremely challenging. I really loved Fighter (adopted by Koda 🦑)-- skinny Persians are really lovely and Fighter has the colors of Duvet's mother, Situs. Paladin was adopted by Shade and Warlock was adopted by kathleen ❄ <3 I hope to see them around :) I brexed the leftovers Rogue and Barbarian to look more like their parents and be more exciting for adoption-- am offering them on PKC and Buck adopted the new Rogue <3
I'd honestly be curious to know if any of these kittens adopted by others have attitude problems. Please do share stories.
So, I chose--
Son of Duvet and Franklin-- I love how he has the colors of his father and the body proportions of his mother. But the alley cat face?? Duvet's father, while he has a Persian face, he has an alley cat personality!
Son of Asterisk and Juno! His family is kind of a mystery because of missing parent information for Asterisk and Juno, but I chose Star because he has Asterisk's Main Coon face and body type with Juno's cream colors and black markings! Star even has partial gypsy markings like his dad-- but they mutated to orange; his face patches are from his mother. His eyes are a very interesting green color-- not sure if that's a mutation or if one of the parents had green somewhere in their lines. And his Chinchi personality is definitely from his mom's side of the family.
Just like with Noir, I can totally tell how Star is just like his mom-- he's a huge bubble head/ absent minded. He's not as playful as his mom, maybe inherited some of the calm traits from his dad? Its hard to tell.
I recently adopted our good friend the Mean Persian Sacha from Arie and @pinto from the Prizebox... I don't know if it's from sitting around there waiting to be adopted, but he is very rude indeed, but a super gorgeous cat and deserving of being in my crew.
Thor noticed him when I posted about him, and drew up some similarities with one of their own Catz, Duvet - an equally smug Persian. So, we decided to invite Duvet over so the two could bask in their own Mean Pearsiany goodness.
As I always like to, I started the playdate by welcoming Duvet to the household alone.
I got her out first in the Playpen, where we have a couple toys including those cute plushies. She started out in your typical cute Persian way, of course showing me her belly and telling me she was All It. I didn't see any of that mean streak straight away, and she settled in nice and quickly. Definitely an outgoing one, that's for sure.
Thor left a note saying that she was actually a bit of a picky eater for her breed, and she especially didn't like food from the blue bowl... For sure, she didn't eat out of the automatic feeder (Sacha has been known to gobble food out of it like there's no tomorrow!) and sure enough, she looked at the blue food with disgust. Since she was coming over for tea, it was a bit of a problem. I offered her some soup out of the blue cup and she preferred to play with it, too... I wonder if she just has a problem with blue. (I'd better not introduce her to my crew mascots...) I filled her up on beef jerky so she at least wouldn't be hangry for her meeting with Sacha. Then, we gave her a bath and gave her an accessory she probably thinks is just right for her.
Sacha needed to get ready quickly, so he just threw on this outfit that matches his eyes. An easy choice for a quick playdate.
We had them meet in the family room first.
A little unsure? Relaxed, both of them, definitely, but they took quite some time to get used to each other... They did a lot of their own thing.
I have to wonder if they were both getting used to their new surroundings... Sacha is quite new to the household himself, after all, and Duvet was only a guest. Lots of curiosity between them, though! Lots of waiting... watching...
I decided to take them to the circus to try and loosen them both up.
Well, now that's more like it. (Duvet got a bit cut off in that picture... erm... just don't tell her. Let her keep being smug...)
You know, Duvet is a lot sweeter than I thought she'd be! Rude Sacha kept being his rude self as you can see, but nothing really seemed to offend Duvet. I wonder if she developed a bit of a soft spot for him, or whether being a guest made her mind her manners. Well, she at least didn't seem to mind being pawed in the face while playfighting.
And at least they have one thing in common - they love to stuff their faces with ungodly amounts of sweets. Teatime was definitely the best time.
And there you have it! The verdict, I suppose, is that any guest will feel there are certain boundaries. I have to wonder if Sacha would feel the same way as Duvet coming over to yours, Thor.
Hope everyone enjoyed their little playdate! These are definitely fun to do!
That's a super cute play date. I demand pictures if you ever have Sacha over to yours for a play date. He's a super cute cat(even if he isn't yours). I may just be biased about loving Duvet as an angry Persian though.
