Striker leaves us for Rainbow Bridge today. The mother of many a pup, Striker was a mostly friendly dog and unusually athletic for a Dane, actually capable of catching the frisbee. When not being athletic however, she was usually upside down with her tongue lolling out, knowing how to live the high life. She managed the good age of 14.

Aww. I find this idea of having a Rainbow Bridge algorithm fascinating, though I'd be incapable of following it myself. Can I ask what you do with the petz files afterwards? Do you delete them, or tuck them away somewhere and never launch them again?
For whatever reason Big Blue really grabbed onto my heartstrings and it just made me idly wonder if you've ever considered giving these retired dogz to anyone, perhaps aging them down to puppies again and considering it a reincarnation.
I was also going to ask if you ever threw Rainbow Bridge parties in the afterlife for your retired petz, but I'm going to guess this idea is too counter to your philosophy of keeping your time spent with your dogz limited and precious -- I imagine you wouldn't want an "out" to have more romps with them, even if they were very restricted. But... now I can't help but think about how cool a Dia de los Muertos celebration could be for you every November, hah! The only day each year you could play with those old files again.

But... now I can't help but think about how cool a Dia de los Muertos celebration could be for you every November, hah! The only day each year you could play with those old files again. They're deleted off my computer, but I keep a copy on my drive just in case. And no, the only dogz who might get adopted out once they're "dead" are petz I adopted from someone else who wants them back; it's too weird to me to see petz who I spent an entire life and then death with with someone else, as though it never happened. I have to do it this way because I want new petz and to be able to breed long-lasting lines, but I also want to actually spend plenty of time with all my petz most days a week, so having them "die" after a year or so is a good compromise (and also realistic to their time frame). I never really thought about it tbh, and given how many petz I already have in rainbow bridge (the ones on my thread are only since I returned, I have a load more before that) I'd end up spending a month a year with them at some point. It is a nice idea, but impractical in the long run. Little Baguette has grown up. Yes she's named after bread, long bread.

It is with great sadness that today we lose 15 yo Tweedie, a long beloved sausage by me and many others, petz and all. As one of Sock's loves it's especially sad that he has now lost her, but they had much happy times and two children together while it lasted. Tweedie very much took no nonsense, but was generally friendly to others of all varieties when they were to her. RIP old girl.

We are expecting dane puppies! Kaspar is siring pups with both Mosaic and Mousey, as they are both lovey with him (sadly not each other, jealousy perhaps?), and there will be 5 pups available fairly soon. waddle waddle We also acquired a new borzoi pup, a grey-faced grizzle who does not have a name yet. Despite appearences, he's actually genetically solid black! ~~~ I feel I have walked into something I should not have seen...

Puppers have been born and are close to being separated; I'm going to make a sign up list for potential adopters to express their interest.

The floppy offspring have been weaned and are either up for adoption or have already been sent out. The two I kept... hate each other. Sigh. This is Fudge and Midnight.
