Welcome to the official thread documenting my shenanigans as I attempt to prepare some pups for showing! I've never shown petz before, so I really would appreciate any and all critiques or tips! Also, if you haven't met the pups who will be involved, I recommend checking out this thread introducing all the pups. Anyways, here we go!
So I thought a first good step would be getting my petz used to the camera. Usually when a photo is taken, the dogs react in a shocked or fearful manner, and this is obviously something I don't want when I'm trying to train petz to pose. So, my idea was each time a pup striked a pose or didn't react to the camera, I'd reward them with treats and pets (I have no idea if this actually works).
Boitelle

Boitelle did well, I got some decent poses, these were the best ones I got! The only thing I can see is the alignment of his paws might be off?
Columbidea

Paw alignment maybe is the only issue? Columbidea is more fearful of the camera than Boitelle!
Kubla

I think one of the eyelids on the first pose might be uneven? Also the arc of the tail on the dali pose seems a bit off to me
Lime

The alignment on the back feet on the dali pose is not too good, also the tail could maybe be more curved? On the dane pose the alignment is plain awful, but the tail looks better?
Rinat

Leg alignment is off on both poses. Also I think her ears are pulled in too much on the second pose?
Shoeshine

Leg and eye alignment is off on the second pose, maybe the tail is too curved too? The first one actually looks pretty ok!
Sleigh

I have no idea about these poses, I'm thinking the last one is bad because of the angry expression? Not sure, time to read up on poodle posing!
I never knew posing took so long, I'm physically tired from photographing all these dogs
I'd appreciate any feedback! Next step is to work on tricks!
