I didn't get to play much today. We're having renovations done and it's really tiring (and boring. So boring.) I've still managed to fit in some Petzing, though.
Splendor sits in a really weird way? I'd previously taken a picture of him doing this and thought he was scratching his butt but no, this is how he sits. Truffle was feeling restless today (same) so I just played with her instead of teaching her to pose. He's figured it out! I thought he never would.
I decided to let him play with Raffles and Seaglass. They mostly wanted to play frisbee and it was impressive and kind of boring at the same time, because they're really good. I was rooting for Seaglass to catch the Frisbee but she didn't. It doesn't help that she seems afraid of it. Poor baby. She really enjoys playing tug, though, and is overall really energetic. Raffles with his daughters, who were probably arguing at the time. Rain is looking so big already!
Wow I was confused because Seaglass looks SO MUCH like her dad! Spitting image! She does! It was so unexpected and it makes telling who's in photos at a glance a bit harder. xD Though Seaglass is chubbier with shorter legs and a stubby tail, they look weirdly similar. What a band of mutants <3 Weird Truffles has started perking up now, she must have needed a friend </3 I'm glad you like them! I'm really happy for her and you're right, she clearly needed to get closer to other dogs to really bring out her personality.

Seaglass is indeed super similar to her dad! Though it's funny, she's growing up so much she might end up being bigger than either of her parents. Rain and Seaglass don't get along very well... you can tell they're sisters. xD This was the first time Seaglass ever caught the frisbee! I'm very proud of her. Funnily enough, Rain seems to be a bit less interested in (and less good at) catching the frisbee. Seaglass is the one who is more like her father, personality-wise; they seem to share a lot of the same interests and can play together for ages. Rain is a lot more like her mum, being really into naps. She's a bit more high-energy than Cloud, though, and seems especially obsessed with the tug toy. Also obsessed with the tug toy? Truffle and Splendor. Splendor is weirdly good at it for some reason?? It's really cute that Splendor has already grown so much but Truffle STILL does that thing where petz mums lie down and stare at their babies. Truffle doesn't seem very focused these days. She almost never wants to pose, just asks for pets and runs around. Which is fine by me -- she seems to finally be having fun and chilling out a bit, so it's ok if she wants to take a break from training. Meanwhile, I've been training this guy, who I've tentatively named Lobo. I'm getting the hang of posing him, I think, even though (like Raffles) he often just starts running around when I align him. The picture above is actually from trick training! I'd done some of it with him before but at the time I didn't write down which tricks I'd trained him on. We've been revising what he knows and hopefully he'll learn new tricks as well. Amazingly, he's a REALLY fast learner. Showing him a trick a couple of times is enough for him to do it mostly consistently from then on. I had no plans to show Seaglass but she seems interested in following in Raffles's footsteps, so I've been training her as well. Here she is, doing her best to pose. (It's not a great picture because for now I'm just teaching her to remember to pose when I take a picture and she's still a puppy anyway.) She's becoming better at frisbee by the day! She came out of the door when I was taking pictures of Raffles doing tricks, and seemed to decide the treat cues were for her... so I'm training tricks with her too. She was confused at first but she's getting the hang of it! She's also much easier to train than Raffles was (that dog takes forever to remember stuff, he's very forgetful). I'm really excited about this group, I wonder where they'll end up. Raffles and Truffle are my faves, they're so cute ;; I love how much personality they have, this was super fun to read Thank you! I love them too, they're extra expressive and their personalities are very distinctive, you're right! I'm glad you liked reading it.

I think this picture really illustrates the personality differences and the interactions between Seaglass, Rain, and Splendor.
Seaglass is very energetic and carefree. Rain is quieter but has a stubborn streak. Splendor is calm and sensitive.
One of the times when I had to send Rain to the door for a time out, I managed to get this picture... not sure what's happening with Splendor but Seaglass is waving. I hope Rain is just going through a moody teenager phase and that the two sisters will get along better when they're older.
For all her attempts at being intimidating, Rain is afraid of weird things... like the food bowl.
On MsWildiful's legacy thread (I've been reading it slowly, I'm not a stalker weirdo, I just think it's so cool) I saw the idea of a temperament test for puppies. I tried to do it but didn't finish so here's just some of the highlights.
Seaglass already knows (and gets along with) cats, but I decided to introduce her to Ragtag. She managed to charm Ragtag and they've become friends. That's how cute she is.
I also discovered she doesn't like water! It's so unexpected. I've only ever had one other dog who didn't like it.
Unrelated but I also gave her a new style. She seems to look up to her dad a lot so her outfit is a version of his (like when children try to imitate their parents). It's a red bow collar with a silver star.
This and similar reactions were pretty much Rain's thoughts about the test tasks. She does not care. It's funny how much she reminds me of Lamb even though he's not her dad, much more so than Splendor.
She was unimpressed by the fish bowl. She also sniffed the Jack o' Lantern and picked it up. Which is funny, because she's afraid of the food bowl.
She's absolutely OBSESSED with playing tug. When given a choice of toys, she picks the tug toy a lot.
While I was playing with Rain, this guy came out of the pet door. They played for a bit, though he seemed uninterested in playing tug (he's super mellow).
Meanwhile, my attempts at training have continued.
Lobo is slowly getting the hang of posing... or almost. It's weird because exactly when I get a nice alignment, he does a little flip/hop instead so I haven't gotten a picture with a very good alignment. I know he's not the best for showing but whatever, even if he only gets HM, I'll still be proud of him.
Truffles absolutely refuses to pose right now xD
Seaglass did super well in our most recent training session. She got the hang of each trick really quickly and only struggled more with the cheese.
After she was done training for the day, she seemed to want to play, so we played fetch and I brought out Caro. I figured Seaglass might want to hang out with her mum, since she mostly plays with her dad.
Not so! She kept barking angrily and making angry faces at Caro. Ah, teenagers. I ended up sending her to the door and just chillin' with Caro.
Lobo was considerably less focused on his training today. At some point he managed to steal the treat out of my hand. He's hilarious so I can't stay mad.

Sorry to say but a wave when putting a pet away means "good riddance I hate you"; I don't find many petz who become even neutral with each other after that :/

It was time to show Seaglass and Rain that they're sisters. They should play nice!
In the absence of one of those shirts you put two people in until they get along, I had them play together, just the two of them. There were a lot of angry faces but when seeing a new toy or watching the music box, they seemed to band together. I sprayed them with the perfume, hoping it would work for platonic relationships, and switched on calming music. Could it be working??? The answer was no. They went back to fighting. So I Look, I never use the spray bottle because I wouldn't use one irl and I like to keep things relatively realistic. However, I wanted to see if it might actually help them be less mean. It didn't! What it did lead to was to Seaglass freaking out and Rain deciding to pick up the bottle and carry it out, possibly to scare her older sister. Man, they're psychos. After a while, they seemed to be playing nicer. They even seemed to be wrestling in a way that didn't seem mean or aggressive! Yeah, it didn't last long. Seaglass's training is still ongoing. She was less focused today but did well overall! She learns really fast. Afterwards, I decided to let her lose all those treats calories by playing with her bff, Raffles. Next it, it was Rain's turn to spend some time with her dad. She picked him up and carried him around! They get along but they mostly seemed to play separately. That didn't stop Raffles from trying to play with her. Rain: omg dad stop you're embarrassing me i'm not a kid anymore Raffles: Parenting teenagers is harder than I expected. I then let Rain and Splendor hang out with their mums (Cloudberry and Truffle). They all get along surprisingly well! It was cute. Truffle and Splendor are surprisingly in sync, sometimes they'll even do things like jump or bark at the exact same time. Cloudberry ended up doing some gymnastics moves and then falling asleep. xD I'm a messy b*tch who lives for petz drama so I had to bring out Truffle, Lamb, and Lobo. See, Truffle and Lobo have been flirting a lot. Lamb didn't seem very fussed. They did adopt different strategies -- Lobo likes to impress Truffle by running around her and barking non-stop, while Lamb is more lowkey and likes to give her gifts. It may not look like it from the picture but Lobo also didn't seem to care that Lamb and Truffle were flirting. It's funny, I thought pets got jealous a lot more easily... maybe once they've fallen in love they no longer care, as opposed to the start of flirting (or when you pet one more than the other or when they compete over toys...). Very chill. Good for you, Truffle! Sorry to say but a wave when putting a pet away means "good riddance I hate you"; I don't find many petz who become even neutral with each other after that :/ Oh no! I knew that it was kind of a mean wave where they're relieved the other pet had left but had no idea it was THAT much of a bad sign! Now I'm less hopeful that they'll get along again.

First things first, I bred this weird dog. I think he looks kind of like a penguin. I might naturally raise him too, not sure.
Today was kind of a slow day because I didn't play petz as much.
I wanted to show the babies what a skateboard is, so I brought it out when Raffles and Seaglass were playing together. He immediately decided to show off.
Seaglass: dad, please, let me try it too! Raffles: EAT DUST, KID
I made sure Seaglass eventually got her chance to skateboard. She seems scared but I guess Raffles has taught her well!
I then decided to show her the hoop. She can't figure out how to jump yet, but Raffles decided to show off.
He then immediately jumped on the skateboard and rode off.
I really like playing with these two together, because they're both very playful and there's never a dull moment with them.
I then decided to show them the plane because meowlissa's post reminded me that it exists. At first, only Raffles managed to catch it.
Soon, though, Seaglass managed to get the hang of it and caught it a few times -- including doing some impressive jumps like it was no big deal.
This makes me wonder whether we could have plane-catching challenges, it reminds me a bit of a more unpredictable frisbee.
Her training session today didn't go very well, because she kept getting distracted. It must have been all the excitment!
Yeah.
I ended up interrupting it and I'll try again tomorrow.
I still haven't done the play/training sessions with the others because I'm tired today.

I didn't get to play much today because today was... not a great day. Anyway. Today, Raffles and Seaglass played together and I decided to throw some confetti for no reason. Truffle was pretty scared of the plane at first, poor baby. <3
She and Splendor both really love the teddy bear! They're really similar in many ways. I grabbed this incredible picture of Rain running into Raffles and accidentally catapulting him into the air. It's beautiful. I completely forgot about Splendor having a father, so I decided to have them hang out. Lamb did not seem to approve of... something. (Nothing personal against Splendor.) Splendor was being a total goof and Lamb got mad at him ahahahahaha. "Young man, what are these shenanigans?" I'm dying. YAY SKATING! I want to have skating shows but I feel like petz doing it is so rare. I get really excited when any petz do it lol. omg skating shows would be INCREDIBLE! A few of my petz skateboard and Raffles seems to really enjoy it, so it would be really fun to do more with the skateboard. Let me know if you'd like to brainstorm ideas, you have my full support!
