This is going to be a big update! I couldn't type much for a couple of days because I got my COVID shot and my arm was sore. I might actually update again later, but I couldn't wait to get caught up on all that's happened.
Hermit is extremely cute!
Seaglass seems to be very partial to Raffles and doesn't get along with Caro very well, so it's nice to see that Hermit seems to love her <3
Seaglass has been slowly warming up to Hermit's general existence. Meanwhile, for a while there, Splendor kept bringing Hermit his favourite toys and it was very cute.
My plan used to be that after Raffles had had 1-2 kids, I'd breed more of them so I could gift them to people. Unfortunately, I'm too attached! I made an exception for
meowlissa, though, because I got Caro from her. This Raffles's 4th kid, who I named Flotsam.
She played with her family for a bit and then said goodbye to them, which was very emotional. I hope she has a great time in her new home!
I also decided to celebrate the arrival of September by grabbing an autumn forest playscene and
gyiyg's edible clover. I've wanted to have a foresty place for a bit so I figured why not? It's not like I was in the mood to do anything intense.
The seeds themselves are edible, so I had to send everyone inside. They just kept eating them.
Scrampus decided to help at some point. I let her, thinking she might help with the mice who kept stealing the seeds. Unfortunately, she decided to run back and forth under the watering can instead, because of course she did.
I brought everyone out in pairs so they could see the new forest and snack on some clover.
I took the babies to the beach. Nothing much happened (there was a lot of napping) but Splendor tried to hog all the toys at one point.
I decided to take them to the tropical island instead, hoping more would happen. It did! Hermit somehow ate the message in the bottle. O.o
Lobo finally made it to SGCh! This means the show type he's focusing on now is frisbee. Once Raffles finishes getting the agility, tricks, and hopefully mousing titles, it'll be his turn. Sadly, those shows have been moving pretty slowly lately.
To celebrate, I decided to throw him a party on the island, complete with catnip.
Lamb decided to constantly drop the music box in the water.
I had everyone come out in small groups to say hi. That's Jonas, contemplating existence. A nice thing that happened is that Jonas and Raffles seem to be getting along again! They used to be bffs but then started to fight for no reason, so I'm glad they seem to have called a truce in the name of partying.

Rory wasn't very sure about it.

I decided to hold what turned out to be the world's worst football tournament. First, I sorted the babies into teams:
Yellow, with Seaglass and Hermit.
Pink, with Rain and Splendor.
Red, with Rage and the dog I got from Bunni.
The first match was Pink vs. Yellow. Almost everyone decided to sleep in the middle of the field, except for Seaglass.
She only actually scored after everyone else woke up, though.
I don't remember who won, I think it was pink?
There was A LOT of everyone getting the ball but then running in the wrong direction.
The next match was Yellow vs. Red. Rage climbed up on the tree and the dogs spent an eternity just barking and being upset instead of actually playing the game.
This dog was not amused when Hermit finally scored a goal.
Red vs. Pink was frankly a very ridiculous match.
At one point, Rain got the ball... and then she decided to drop it in the middle of the field, instead of scoring a goal. I don't know what the still-unnamed dog was doing.
Rage decided to plop himself down in the goal area and lick his butt.
At some point, Rain fell asleep, and then I guess everyone decided to wrestle. Keep in mind that the score was still 0-0 at this point.
Unnamed Dog FINALLY scored a goal, much to my relief.
The last and definitely worst game was Yellow vs. Red. It went on forever because nobody was scoring or doing any playing. Unnamed Dog again came to the rescue and finally scored the match's single goal, making Red victorious.
With Lobo done with pose shows, it was time to prepare the next wave of contestants. I decided to bring them out for some pose training.
It was kind of a disaster. Truffle seems to have started posing again, but the Unnamed Dog, who usually poses whenever I take pictures, decided to... not pose.
Worse, she decided to be hostile to the others, and especially poor Truffles.
meowlissa gave me this dog. She's a ridiculously enormous orange dog.
I introduced her to everyone and thought she and Raffles might get along.
Instead, she decided to chase him around while he ran away in terror.
She's terrifying and ridiculous, which is a great combination.
