You can find meowlissa's guide here!
Just post a picture of your pet catching the mouse (or showing it off, or interacting with it after catching it).
+ no backgrounds + all ages welcome + both catz and dogz welcome + clothes are fine as long as they don't make it harder to see what's going on + closes at 5 entries

Results: 1st - EC's Divine Inspiration 2nd - gyiyg/Coyote's Cell Phone Destroyer 3rd - gyiyg's I'm Not Other People 4th - LKC/Unique's Big Brain Time 5th - SRK / SBY I'll Cry a Million Tears
Explanation: I really liked Jesse's picture. He's clearly confident enough in having caught the mouse that he's strolling around with it, with a focused expression on his face. Mallet's entry is also really expressive. Damien was close tie and I liked how poised he looks and how clear the angle is. Big Brain Time and Crying placed lower as they seemed comparatively less expressive, though they could have placed higher depending on the competition.
My criteria: I'm still getting used to judging mousing shows but I'd say a bit factor for me is how confident and expressive the cat looks. Something that helped Jesse win was his pose -- I've noticed mice sometimes get away when cats shift from a "sitting catch pose" to playing or carrying it, so that and his facial expression helped convey confindence. Angle is also something I take into account: Damien's entry looked really balanced and pleasant to look at, and only didn't place higher because of Mallet's terrifying face ahaha. Basically, I like it when entries show exhuberance or expressiveness and/or confidence and poise in having caught the mouse. The more visible some kind of emotion or action is, the better the placement.
(I hope this makes sense.)
Good job everyone!
If you have any feedback about judging, please let me know! This was my first mousing show so I'm always looking to improve.
P.S.: ECRose, I don't know about other judges but a pet being painted or not doesn't really matter in my shows, for the same reason why I allow things like small accessories/clothes that aren't intrusive. I take what's going on in the picture into account over looks.

Thank you so much! I am surprised and flattered. In all of my years playing petz I've never even placed in a show, so this was very unexpected!
Also, thank you for the note about painted petz. I figured the rule is more relevant to pose and PKC type shows where there are faulted colors, but I wanted to be sure. ^_^
