After a little time out to relax post-squabble, I brought Chessie out and presented her with a nice mug of hot cocoa.
She was definitely quite curious about what I was up to... If also a little skeptical.
Pretty soon she decided she would enjoy drinking it and she slurped it all up.
She got a bit lost in deep contemplative thought.
And then fell asleep...
I thought this was a good opportunity to bring Arthur out!
His first reaction to the mug was blind panic...
But after the prerequisite panic run, he got used to the idea and decided to have a drink too. And then to contemplate the nature of the universe in typical oshie fashion of course.
When he was done figuring it all out, he decided the best thing to do was to pick up the mug and start wandering around with it. And so that's exactly what he did.
At this point I thought why not try a little frisbee catching? Arthur was obviously in the right frame of mind right? And Chessie was asleep so that's ideal so they don't fight each other.
I put Chessie away for a bit to finish her nap in peace and introduced Arthur to the frisbee.
Of course Arthur's first reaction was panic. But this fear gradually morphed into ferocity.
Now I wouldn't say he 'caught' the frisbee within the 2 minutes... But he certainly picked it up.
And then he carried it around for a while like it was a mug.
Ok, well, Chessie's turn!
She was curious...
Until it got a little bit too close!
She panicked for pretty much the entire 2 minutes... But did eventually manage to conquer her fear and go pick the frisbee up.
Catching might have to be something we work up to more slowly...
After the whole frisbee ordeal, I thought we needed a change of pace... We went over to the clothes closet and we started trying on some outfits!
I just about managed to get a scarf on Chessie before she toppled over and fell asleep... again.
To be entirely honest though, I think that was for the best because it meant I could get Arthur dressed without worrying that Chessie might pounce on him!
The most important thing was to ensure that Arthur's tentacles would stay toasty warm! So that's what we did!
