Thank you all for sending your petz to the tryouts! Here is how it all went. :)
We had a total of 12 guests visit!
Ace and Ibiza - Dalis from RebeccaMonkey 🍂
Demoiselle and Labooboo - a mini Dachie and a mini Lab from Ratqueen
Goldtongue (who I didn't realize was missing a texture the whole time) and Insufferable Snow - a hexed mini mutt and a dachie from bird
Reya and Parka - a dane mix and a tamsin (and the lone Snowflakes aside from mine!) from tybaxel
Roland and Nibbles - adorable mixies from Thor
Ausrine and Darla - tamsins in love from shaina @ kizmet
and my Husky Satin from kathleen was the host!

We started off by first picking out sled harnesses and booties for everyone, matching their WinOly team colors. Then we went in pairs to the snow scene to try our hand (paws) at riding the sled -
everyone did it!! Some of the younger ones were a bit unsure, but I found having a dog out who already knows how to sled made it easy for them to learn by watching.
Ibiza I'm trying to teach you how to sled, pay attention!
We had a couple times when both petz out would jump on the sled at the exact same time (with varying success) -
and Nibbles and Roland were particularly adorable. Roland was a natural but Nibbles took quite a while to warm up to the sled. But once he did- the two of them kept racing to see who could get on it first, and Nibbles kept winning!!
I had previously posted this pic on discord- Satin was not a fan of the sled when I first tried to get her to play with it.
This time I brought her out with Ballet, an Abno Malamute of mine from Amy
and after watching Ballet all of one time, Satin figured it out!
(I almost forgot this part!) There was also a brief incident, I thought I lost Ratqueen's Demoiselle! The case said she was still out with Labooboo, but she was nowhere to be found?
But when I took a picture, she apparently was glitch frozen off screen eep-
Labooboo the ever attentive friend kept trying to play with her and was so cute! (These two were acting close to in love, that might be in their future)
Changing playscenes did not un-freeze her, she was still stuck in the upper left corner off screen, but the petza > send to pet door option finally freed her unharmed :)

Everyone was tired out from sled riding, so we went back inside for some hot cocoa and eggnog by the fire -
Unfortunately we learned (the probably obvious knowledge) that cocoa and eggnog isn't sufficient calories for hard working snow dogs. It didn't raise their fullness or fatness at all.

Once everyone was fully rested and fueled up, it was time for the main event! Learning how to get pictures for Sled races and events.
It was hard (and/or I'm just not good hahaha). I don't recommend looking at old Iditarod teams if you are easily discouraged lol (surely some of those were individual pictures edited together? Maybe the unedited pics thing is something that wasn't a rule before the new show rules threads were written last year)
I brought in 3 more dogs of my own, and together we had enough for two complete teams to have a race!
Introducing our two made-up teams for the playdate race -
TEAM ALPHA WOLF
and TEAM SNOWNADO
I really love that these races are determined randomly. You don't need perfect pictures at all and no one knows who will end up winning. I ran an actual race for these petz, if you want to count the miles as a real race I'm hoping that will be ok! (I'm going to count it for my petz at least ha)
Race distance: 12 miles (nice and short for everyone's first race ^^)
Team Alpha Wolf's start time: 7
Team Snownado's start time: 4
and they're off!!! Since this is a short race under 50 miles, it's the first team to reach 50. Each number is randomly generated and alternating teams, starting with Team Alpha Wolf since they rolled the higher start number.
Team Alpha Wolf: 7 start time+5 new pic bonus+5+7+15+11
Team Snownado: 4 start time+5 new pic bonus+2+5+15+15+2+12
Alpha Wolf are the winners!!! So if anyone does track this race towards sled dog titles, each dog (on both teams) gets to count 12 miles run, and everyone on Team Alpha Wolf has now won one 1st place. :)
