It's been a few days, and I've got a bunch of pics. First off, Wilfred and both the Meezers got their Happy Pet awards. Wilfred's neglect level has gone down to zero.
Wilfred and Akini are still good friends. I just want them to be something more! x)
Daisy and Jack definitely are, at this point. I don't know why Jack looks angry while flirting with her, but he occasionally just does. I guess it could be interpreted as a "naughty" expression, rather than angry.
I'm ready for a second generation, so now I'm actively trying to pair up petz. Oh yeah, and seeing who actually enjoy spending time together, while being platonic friends. Ricka and Jasper do indeed like each other.
Funny enough, so do Sadie and Charlie. How many orange catz are too many?
I tried the foxes two and two. Birdie and Nickolas just ignored each other.
Cilla's lunch date with Mattias was awkward.
Casey and Riona are pretty solid, at least. I think they'll be a pair. Maybe I can hook one of their pups up with one of Reika and Storm's, if both pairs breed.
(Oh, that reminds me. I don't know how to import P4 petz to P5! There's no ingame option. Research needed! I do know about the P5-P4 backwards converting program, though.)
Riona is not at all bad at catching frisbees. For a dog with Dane SCP she's great at it!
TinTin is part chameleon, and carpet is her natural habitat.
And now it's time for some new introductions! Meet Oliver and Lucas. (Those are very likely names for future real cats of mine, just saying.) The Silver Tabby is Oliver, and Lucas is the BWS. They actually get along great, and I'm so happy about it!
The first residents they met were Jack and Charlie. Oliver seemed to take a liking to Jack right away. He kept showing off with saltos and dance.
The default angry cat (at least next in line after the Alley) seems to be one of the happiest. x)
Jack went almost right to sleep, though. Look at those stink-eyes Charlie's delivering.
This is when I started wondering if Jack really starts all the fights between them, or if Charlie's just as much of an asshole. It's weird, because I almost feel like I'm victim-blaming when I'm asking if a skittish Oshie is actually aggressive towards another cat. But I know they can be, because the fox-catz are based on Oshies and they fight a lot. Not as much as they used to, but it still happens regularly.
Jack went right back to snoozing with the butterflies, and it seemed like he just wanted to sleep.
"I don't trust you, because you LIKE JACK!"
"I'm supposed to be the tuff guy here."
Charlie felt comfortable enough to go to sleep, so I sort of doubt he was feeling all that harassed.
Oh gosh what is this? What happened to Akini?! How did she get reset?!!!!
No, that's not her at all. This is Malika, another little Dali that I'm raising in hopes that she may like Baines. Dali x Dane is another step in my "from scratch" nostalgia project. Just like her "big sister" Akini, she's named after one of my Planet Zoo zebras, because I really can't names. The Lab is Tobie. He's named after an identical black Labrador I had back in 2005, whose name was Tobias. Since then, my extended family has acquired two (step) children by that name, however. I kind of hope my cousins won't discover my online activities, LOL, but if they do and somehow manage to connect me with them, at least they won't think that I consider their kids to have dog names.
Wilbur had found some expired mushroom pizza in the bin, and now he was having pizza hallucinations.
The puppies went to the beach to horse around and get some pent-up energy released. Tobie appears to have a natural talent for frisbee. Malika, well.... she doesn't really, but she seems more interested than Akini was at that age.
Time to meet the mini-me's!
I'm sure Akini thought it was very interesting.
There are a couple of random P4 pics next in line (I use a numbering system for my screen shots), so apparently I was running both games. I remember I took this one, because the line-up of orange kittens amused me. Something about them reminded me of the bee-swarms in Winnie-the-Pooh, when they get disturbed. Their target was just an auto-ball, though, not a Honey Bear.
Ricka was worried that her friends would play too roughly and get hurt.
The squirts met the two teens, and they seemed to hit it off very nicely. Both of the smols tried impressing Reika with their summersaults.
Tobie wondered why Storm was wearing maroon shorts.
(I don't know if those are markings that are supposed to be visible or not. He's only got that one segment in that colour, and when he was smaller it was mostly hidden. I think my first hex-painting project will be making him all black.)
Malika got some light customisation to set her apart from Akini. I painted one ear white, and put black socks on two of her legs. I actually wanted just the paws black, at least on the front leg, but I don't have any black mittens. You'd think something as basic as that would be in the closet, but no. Looks like I'm going "shopping" around on the sites again. I'm thinking of hex-painting those markings on her, though. Her puppies wouldn't inherit them, but they'll probably have coat mutations of some sort, so that doesn't matter.
Charlie was still butthurt when the gang came out to play later. Maybe I'm reading too much into this, but I'm looking at their body language, and it seems like Jack is in more of a defensive, stand-offish pose, while Charlie's leaning forward with murder written in bold. I was so sure it was Jack being the bully, and I was going to punish him if it continued. They're not real cats, and I'm over-analysing, but I'm actually preparing to have real cats in my life again. I want to think I'll be a fair and just parent to them.
Daisy came out to take up the part of Jack's attention span that was likely to get him into trouble, and Charlie lay down for a nap with his new buddy Lucas.
Then he changed his mind, and discovered that he did indeed kind of like Oliver.
He took the soccer ball football to teach Jack a lesson, ran up in the tree and out of the scene with it, but Jack's focus was apparently elsewhere.
And then he started beating up the flying saucer, in case there were tiny aliens in it, so they'd be thrown all around and getting concussions.
"That is disgusting!"
Lucas and Daisy missed out on all the drama.
Um, yeah.... Not all of it. This happened almost the moment they got in. Someone didn't leave their football-related aggression on the grass.
This was a separate incident. We can add TinTin and Sadie to catz who should not be left unattended together for more than a minute. At least Charlie and Jack stayed out of it, and pursued healthier relationships elsewhere.
I'd let Sadie stay behind when some of the other petz her age left for a holiday. There seemed to be something between her and Charlie, and I wanted to see how it developed. It was a bad idea to remove all her other friends, though. If you've noticed, Hunny Bee, Moon, Baines and Trinnie are absent from this update. They'll be back later, when their potential love interests (Oliver, Lucas, Malika and a few other petz you'll meet in upcoming updates) come of age. Then we'll see who pairs off, and who doesn't. I'll definitely be revolving my petz, though, like I do with my Sims families. Sadie's gone to join her friends on their adventurous journey. You'll see her again, I'm pretty sure!
Jack, you don't think that maybe the loving couple would prefer not to share their bed with you?
Things quieted down after that, and I exited to let them sleep.
I think this is a good place to end the post, because next up we'll see even more new faces! Enjoy this cute picture of Jasper and Ricka showing off their new, properly "Number 4" green collars.

You can never have enough orange cats Also I really like Oliver's colours! I thought the tabby only came in the one orangey-brown colour/texture, is that an OW you used with the Tabby? Or am I just still unaware of some things in the petz games? I also can't wait to see the puppies and kittens when they do arrive!

Thank you, nyro ! Oliver is a Silver Tabby, so it's a separate breed entirely. I can tell you this: There were some babies born today, but whose they are is spoilers.

This is Meredith and her sister Whitney. Turn around, Whitney. They can't see you!
Yes, that's better. These two were bred by my best friend, Sam. She's running a selective breeding program, and I was allowed to have these two because they weren't quite what she was going for. They're Honey Bear x Persian, bred with gyiyg 's reworked HB and (I think) the Sunhill Persian OW. Whitney - and their four brothers - don't really look like either of those breeds, though. Meredith has her mother's face. Sam said Meredith reminded her of a fox, and she knows I love foxes! But you know what? When I look at Meredith, I don't see fox as much as red panda. Which are criminally cute animals too, BTW!
The other kittens came out to meet them, and Lucas tried to make a good impression on Whitney.
Oliver was a little conserned.
They had an outing to a field that's been infested with a mutated species of mice, which roll around and around in a constant state of intoxication.
(It's an auto-ball from Unique Petz, and it's hilarious!)
Back home, TinTin politely introduced herself to Meredith.
One of the mice had followed them home. Oliver tried to tame it, but it was too deranged to be domesticated.
The kids had a sleepover to get to know each other. Yeah, I don't know what's going on with Oliver. Some after-effect of having handled the mouse, maybe.
Oliver discovered something odd about the new plushie.
"Hey, there's a note stuck to it, and it says: "Dear Meredith and Whitney. This is your strict aunt Huberta. She will keep an eye on you when I can't, to make sure you stay on the right side of the law. Love, Dad."
Lucas found comfort in the green light of the night lamp, which was almost the same colour as his eyes.
Oh, and Sam? You'll be happy to know that Meredith is just as much of a food vacuum as that certain brother. Whitney's also a very hungry kitteh, but since she's already larger than most dogz that's really no wonder.
Malika tried to copy Akini, so everyone could see how cool and grown-up she was becoming. They don't really like each other. To be honest, at the time of writing most of the dogs seem to do the happy wave when Malika goes in the carrier.
Tobie has a habit of burying everything. It may just be a coincidence, but since he's joined the crew toys disappear from play scenes more often than they used to.
Jack's been spending time with the younger petz lately. He seems to get on pretty well with this crowd. Welp, mostly. But we'll get into that later.
Meredith did not like her sister's new friend.
They needed a distraction, so back to the field it was. The environment did strange things to Jack, but most of the others decided this was a lovely, quiet place for a nap.
Siesta time was mostly peaceful, although Lucas did some angry jumping and seemed to want to challenge Meredith to come at him. Seriously, Lucas? Who wants to fight a fluffy, innocent red panda?
And THIS.... this is Percy and Parsnip. They're two of the kittens I bred from a Honey Bear (standard edition) and a Chinchilla Persian (gyiyg 's OW). I thought they'd make good companions for the other two HB mixes, maybe even future love interests. What can I say, though? These dudes have issues.
So far so good. The tan one's Parsnip, and the white one Percy. (Such unique and clever name for a Persian, yes/yes?)
Percy apparently liked Meredith Whitney.
The two sisters also did some bonding. I'm glad they get along, because most of their family.... uh, don't.
All the kittens - and Jack - had a playdate, to hopefully form some new friendships.
Meredith apparently disliked Percy.
And Parsnip got in a brawl with sweet little Oliver. This is just great.
Lucas made a point out of sitting serenely on the fence and being the picture of innocense. He knows his clan - the BWS - has a bit of a rep.
No, go and take your pent-up aggression out on the mutant mice instead!
Meanwhile, in Petz 4, Ricka and Jasper found the same species of mouse in an ivy-covered clearing in the woods.
Casey and Riona aren't small fluffy balls anymore. They're going to be fairly large dogs.
And I was naughty again! Meet Maeve (tricolor) and Brody (blue merle). They're both Border Collies from the same hexer, whose identity escapes me right now, although different versions. They also have a third version, which is very showy. Riona, and especially Casey, needed more members of their own species, because Casey is too "Tigger" for most of the catz to handle.
Brody immediately showed an interest in frisbee, while Casey (who can't frisbee worth a darn) tried to put more wholesome ideas into his young, impressionable mind. Yeah, that yellow dog just washed up. The fact that it reminds me a bit of Odie from Garfield tickles my funny bone, because it makes me think of that coast line in France where thousands of Garfield-shaped phones have washed up.
Yes, I'm definitely thinking puppies from these two, if they keep getting along.
Mattias wasn't sure he was thrilled by having more mini-Caseys around.
I love my foxes, and I just don't take enough pictures of them.
I've got a feeling that Birdie has a problem with a lot of petz.
Fortunately, catz can't beat up small dogz, and vice versa. I'm actually really glad that dogz apparently can't fight in this game. At least, I've never seen them do anything similar to the catz' spinning wheels of hatred. Can they?
I think I like my catz best when they're too exhausted for mischief. Although, that often means they're exhausted from mischief. Alas.
Will these two ever become romantically involved?
Wilfred likes the two pups, and he played catch with both of them at once. I didn't know that could happen! Maybe Tobie was just sitting next to Malika so it looked like he was playing too, but I think I saw him catch the ball. Anyway, it was cute! Wilfred's gonna be a good dad one day.
Akini, are you okay?
Awwww, look at this! Storm found an acceptable way to play with a frisbee. So, I'll just end this update here. Next up is lots of drama and high emotions, some surprising friendships and love!

Meredith is really cute, I love her colouring! When I saw her at first I also thought "what kind of breed is that? It looks like a fox but I know it's not the fox cat". Then when you said she looked more like a Red Panda I realized that actually is a bit more fitting.
That mouse auto rolling ball looks amazing LOL. I've gotta go download that now.
I don't know about Petz 5 if that's what you were referring to, but in Petz 4 anyway they don't fight like catz, but they do have a negative interaction. One of the dogs will yelp and run away from the other dog (usually from the bullyer) and try to run at the door. I don't think catz and dogz can fight among each other though...? I've never seen it but I'm not totally sure. They might hiss or angry bark though.

Thank you! Meredith is quite unique, and doesn't she look so fluffy and innocent? Welp. You'll see her true self soon. Everyone needs the auto-mouse in their toy closet! Ouch, I'll have to look out for that interaction between dogz, then. I've learned how to edit their relationships, so now I can nip anything like that in the bud. The pictures are a few days old at this point, so there's an interesting back-log coming up, is all I can say.

Why do I have a feeling that if these two were TS2 Sims, Jack would be telling dirty jokes as a romantic gesture? Because he's definitely flirting.
Daisy met the new Persian boys, and immediately liked at least one of them.
She got very sad when they had to be put away because they were out of control.
Jack's always surrounded by butterflies, for some reason. Maybe they just see him as a little flower child.
Suddenly there was a lot of violence featuring Tim.
I wonder if he's jealous towards Lucas and Oliver, since TinTin likes both of them and spends more time with them than with him, when they're out together.
BTW, Casey doesn't like Maeve.
"LOLBYE bratzo!"
I thought it would be a good idea to take all the super-nervous foxes to the beach, where they'd have a good chance of being horrifically splashed. That said, the ocean in P4 isn't as rageful as the one in P5. I wish they'd kept the wave animation, instead of having the whole bottom of the screen fill up with water.
Many emotions were had.
One of my real cats slept like this a lot. Sometimes his head would be hanging off the edge of the sofa too.
Oh no! Why are you doing this? You two liked each other, right?
At least Oliver and Lucas are good buddies, and don't have any unpleasant tendencies towards each other.
Tim definitely has competition from Oliver, though.
Lucas slept in this adorable position, with his head held up, for a while. Awwwww.
Then I started taking notes of which petz got sad when another pet left. Cilla got mopey when Birdie was sent out, which is kind of sad, because Birdie dances when Cilla leaves. Birdie's a little brat, in other words, but Cilla really likes her anyway.
Nickolas was also happy to see Cilla's tail disappearing into the door, according to my notes.
Mattias likes Nickolas, and wanted him to stay. I'm not sure that's 100% mutual either. Checking the P4 gang's relationships is next on the list.
A lot of the petz love Oliver. The only two he's had real problems with are Parsnip and Charlie, especially Parsnip.
Jasper and Ricka had some out-alone-time, and murdered auto-balls on the lawn.
Hey, this is promising! They're looking at each other like they LIKE-like each other, and that's what we want!
The younger dogs have been hanging out together a bit. They always look like they have a lot of fun, even if Tobie's the only one who's actually good at catching frisbees. One time he even jumped four times his own height and snapped a boomerang right out of the air.
For some reason, it feels like Malika is growing faster than Akini did. It's probably just because I've got more petz at this point, and she's not out all day long like my first little gang was. I feel like I've been neglecting her and Tobie, although they have received their Happy Pet papers, and I have the receipts.
Tobie's also quickly growing up to be a big dog. Labradors in real life really do, in my experience.
I should take a few pictures of the "old timers" too, so they don't feel forgotten.
"Alright! That's enough frisbee!"
I let all the kittens out together, so the least bitey of them could at least attempt to make friends. Wilbur was there to take up way too much space, as usual. He annoys me.
Percy doesn't like Meredith much.
And Lucas doesn't like Whitney. At this point I was starting to feel guilty about having adopted my friend's kittens into this homicidal environment. (Homicidal? Felicidal?)
Fantastic. Fabulous.
Charlie and his frienemesis Jack switched between playfully wrestling and being legit hatefaced. They have issues.
After Jack fell asleep with a teddy bear, Charlie grabbed a unicorn and went over to sleep next to him.
Spoiler, I eventually fix their relationship so they become friends.
BUT WHAT IS THIS?!!??!
Surprise! Akini had puppies with Wilfred, a girl and two boys. In case it's hard to read on the picture above, the Dali spotted puppy is a boy named Cole. The two identical twins are a girl named Ellie and another boy named Alfie.
I'm very happy with how Cole turned out, actually. He's ALL Mutt, but has the Dalmatian coat, except for his eyelids which I'll brex to be black.
Wilfred's life suddenly got weird.
Oh, BTW.... I've been misspelling his name all along. It's actually Willfred, with two Ls. Yeah, I guess I thought I'd give it a slightly unique spelling (like I did with Nickolas) and just forgot about it.
Ellie was Akini's favourite babbeh, who she always carried into playscenes and fussed over. Willfred seems to slightly favour Alfie, though he's been a good dad to all of them.
The young P4 residents went to the beach with Riona and Casey. Maeve worked on making Casey like her.
This was happening in the P5 window at the same time. Percy is a fierce predator of treats.
And occasionally of his twin brother. x( Maybe it's more Parsnip who's the predator of Percy, though. Percy seems chill. Parsnip only gets along with Meredith, and she's a whole chapter to herself. Spoiler!
Crazy mice are a nice distraction. They wear them flat out until they're too tired to hate.
Meanwhile, Casey got Ricka to sing a duet with him. I play with the sound of, because I hath misophonia, but I'm sure it sounded lovely!
New additions to the hate-list: Whitney and Parsnip.
Whitney's sad in the face, and Meredith is dancing. Let me guess: Percy left.
Daisy and Jack were icky in front of the kittens.
Then there was an outing to Crazy Mouse Hill.
Foxes. Yes.
Accidental picture of Reika, but she does look a lot more regal than what she normally manages.
I seriously don't take enough pictures of Tobie.
Ellie took her first steps.
Then Cole did the same. Oh, and I painted Alfie, so I could tell which one was him and which one was Ellie. Making him a Mini-Willfred was just an impulse I had, but darn if he doesn't have the same white markings on his leg! He's a true copy of his dad!
Next episode: The first rule of Fight Club!

Ouch, I'll have to look out for that interaction between dogz, then. I've learned how to edit their relationships, so now I can nip anything like that in the bud. The pictures are a few days old at this point, so there's an interesting back-log coming up, is all I can say. Glad I'm not the only one who ends up editing the relationships lol. It was honestly starting to get annoying having most of my petz fighting constantly and I couldn't have a lot out at once. I just want to see them happy, not screaming and running away or becoming a dust cloud of fury lol. (Especially when it was two that were based on characters that were supposed to be FRIENDS, and then immediately hating each other in the game ) It's weird though because when I was editing some of them the other day, I noticed some of my dogz who had paired up and had puppies apparently hated each other...? I never noticed them fighting beforehand but maybe they didn't reach screaming and running stage before suddenly falling in love. And YAY PUPPIES!! I like how Alfie and Ellie look like twins. Do you plan on further breeding them to eventually get Tamsins? BTW I hope you don't mind me asking... but I was curious on your thoughts of Petz 4 vs Petz 5? I've only ever played Petz 4, because although Petz 5 seems to have more things in it that I feel would be better (being able to take any toyz out of the carrying case instead of going to the playroom every time I think? Litterz, and I think something else but it evades me right now) I heard it was extremely buggy and crashes and corrupts files a lot, compared to Petz 4? And I've already had Petz 4 crash on my occasionally for no reason (I wish there was a save button instead of closing to save), so if Petz 5 is worse I feel like it would get on my nerves haha. Have you had any issues with this though? And which version of Windows do you run it on? I might try it out if it's not actually as bad as it's been made out to be. (Because I would really like to use other rooms in Petz 4 but I just... hate having to move toyz around with the carrying case so much I just stick to the playpen). I'd still use Petz 4 too though.

nyro I haven't had Petz 5 crash more than once so far, and that was after it had been running over night, and there were several other programs running. If you try to open Petz (any of them, it seems) and FarmVille at the same time, for example, neither of them load. They just lag forever on the loading screen. It seems they compete for resources, despite neither of them being heavy-weights. Petz 4 has crashed four or five times, probably for the same reasons. I play on Windows 10. I would say that at this point I still much prefer Petz 5, only for the reason that everything is in the carrier. It kind of sucks having to interrupt a fun play group because someone's burying all the toys, and when you get back from the toy closet everyone just lays down and goes to sleep. And if you've got several catz out horking hairballs, well, the carrier only has so many slots. It's much easier to find fun custom stuff for Petz 4, though! And you can just dump it into the folders without reinstalling Tinker every time. It's very handy to be able to split up the crew into two separate households. I take backups all the time, in case something corrupts. My breeding plans are very vague still, but I'm definitely going to keep trying for cool Tamsin-type dogz. Akini and Willfred will probably have a couple of more litters, and I'm planning to have Malika and Baines be a pair. (They do get along!) I've also got two male Dali pups that I plan on pairing up with a female Mutt and Dane. How am I going to customise all those purebred Dalmatians? I'll probably manage to individualise them somehow, I hope! When I've got a few second generation litters, I'll start thinking about grandchildren!
