as part of her Fall Festival activity!
[ this recounts our time with Deven a couple of days ago! he has been sent on his way since to the next house (to nalamittenz!) ]
A few days ago, we had the pleasure of hosting Emmer's Deven as he made his trick or treat rounds!
I had a vague agenda planned for his time here: some fun dressing up, some trick training, a rumble in the autumn yard with the rest of our petz, then a warm comfort meal before sending him along to the next person. It didn't, however, go quite as planned!
personable boy <3
First, we got him into some clothes befitting of the chilly weather,
topped off with a snazzy beret that compliments his natural blue feet.
As he eases into our game, I thought it best to wait before introducing him to the other petz,
directing him first into our kitchen for a "tricks for treats" session. Boy, did he work hard for those candies!
As a bonus ... er, treat, Deven managed to catch himself a chocolatey shelled snack to nom on for a bit.
(we have a roach problem, sorry Emmer lol!) ๐
Hoping his appetite for sugar has been sated, I introduced him to two of my petz: Seance & October!

Meeting the crew
Seance (hexed by Amanda) and October (bred by Vesale) greeted him in our backyard.
I placed an auto-rolling ball to tire them out, and left the twigs in the environment for them to play with, minimising my own contact with them so they can interact! Seance and Deven got on immediately (though this fact is misconstrued by the dogs' lukewarm reception of him in the picture above lol). Both vied for the stick in friendly tug-of-war, chased each other around, and wrestled in friendly play. Occasionally, Seance would bark angrily when he would lose possession of his prized yard stick (nevermind that there was another one lying about), but both boys were on good (albeit competitive) terms. October on the other hand ...
It was so odd - they were so focused on each other!
Past Nebula summed up these interactions in her session notes
-- though hindsight makes it laughable.

October now his sole focus, Deven's new buddy Seance no longer existed to him!
At this stage, I allowed them build this new budding friendship, with the intention of bringing Seance out again later one-on-one. So far in my game, October hasn't taken a liking to any pet the way she did him, nor did any other pet take such an interest in her! (even high nurturing petz)
One moment, they were laying across each other, then the next -
The realisation hit me like a car lol!
I totally misread the situation (it's been that long since I've had a love litter)
My boyfriend tsk'ed at me when I showed him - "irresponsible pet mom" he'd teased!
I was so relieved it was well received by Emmer, because I felt so bad!
The impending responsibility of motherhood definitely dawned on young October afterward.
Deven though, I'd say, was quite happy about the situation c:

What to expect when you're expecting
when you didn't expect it at all
I was quite excited by this, and turned off instant birth on Petz A.
I let the parents to be play in the yard to stretch their legs. While the lovey-dovey state was over, they both still gravitated toward each other in such a sweet way. October developed a streak of running into/bowling over Deven if he ignored her to play with the ball, waddling over to spend time with him. Deven, stanning equal rights, would do the same to her. They were very similiar in energy and personality, it made sense they were so compatible!
With bellies full and energy exerted into running (and more) , the dogz settled down for a post-meal nap.
October was exhausted, and Deven soon joined her in the land of languid afternoon naps.
(not before I captured him tilting his head as he watched her sleep, it was so sweet).

A Happy Accident
(aka, Surprise!)
Remembering Deven had to be on his way and continue his travels, I put October away when they arose from their nap then turned on instant birth. Honestly, I couldn't wait to meet the little baby, so as much as I enjoyed this experience, I had no qualms about speeding things up for the pup's arrival. Deven needed to meet his pup before his journey continued!!
Taking October out of the carrier, there came along a surprise --

I ran out of creativity with names, and quite frankly, Surprise was - well - a surprise!
He is a gorgeous puppy, with colours perfect for Halloween.
Though he takes after October heavily in stature, with his ears and colour, his eyes are Deven's lovely grey.
Deven was a wonderful with his newborn pup and mother, giving them space as needed, but keeping an eye on them constantly. October is a very protective mother, protesting everytime I carried her baby, but loved carrying him, sharing him with Deven. It'd been a while since I had a love-litter and family, their interactions were so sweet to just watch.

Sadly, it was getting late, and with full days of work ahead of me, I knew I had to send Deven along.
Putting October and Surprise away earned me this heartwrenching pout ;;
I had to take October out again, just for one last goodbye (for the time being)
His last little show of affection before being put away melted my heart.
sweet lil family โค

So sorry I took a few days to write this up!
Deven is already on his way, though Surprise is still with me -
I'm planning on sharing updates of the next couple of days on here, getting to know him.
(made this thread to avoid flooding Emmer's with all these pictures!)
Just let me know Emmer if you want me to send Surprise over to you when he's old enough!
While I adore him, I've already got October, and it'd be sweet to reunite father and son again <3
