Day 24 Pippa and Abbot: 75 days old Ginger: 60 days old Cerys and Riley: 15 days oldIt's been a bit since I've felt like playing with this group, but we're back and we're easing into it.
Abbot failed his "play nice with others" task for his Bronze Petz Citizen (who, Abbot? Couldn't be!), so we worked on getting a more neutral expression out of him today. Here are all the outtakes:
He and Pippa started acting too lovesick, so I put her away and brought out the pups next. Abbot was not pleased:
Anyway, he he is with Riley, who is absolutely nonplussed by Abbot's antics. I think he brings out the puppy in Abbot?
Cerys:
Why is everyone asleep?
And the winning photo:
Err, well, the photo I selected -- TBD if it's a winner! I think it's the most boring, but I couldn't be sure Abbot wasn't looking too worried in the others.
Then we worked on Pippa's BPC tasks:
Can you guess what happened in her last task?
Like mother, like son.
^ I thought about submitting this for the "play nice with others" task. They're so cute! They love playing with each other.
Giving her little baby a groom <3
Nighty night!

Happy Halloween from the SzK naturally raised crew! It's been, uhh, a while since I last checked in here? The crew has been (somewhat) busy outside of this thread. We participated in the summer Olympics (well, kinda. I got burnt out by the 3rd wave — not necessarily on Petz, but I had broken my foot right at the start of SumOly, and Petz was all I could do, and you know how that works. Suddenly it was the last thing I wanted to do). Riley's also been helping me staff the cornhole toss at the Fall Festival. Between all of this, Pippa and Abbot have both reached 100 days old — which means they're officially retiring from the naturally-raised rotation. Now that they're retired, they're both working on their SPC and GPC titles for Good Petz Citizen Scheme. After GPC, they'll both enter the showring! (Actually, Abbot has already made his debut in a couple of puppy shows.) Speaking of Good Petz Citizen Scheme, here were their entries for SPC: They have yet to be assessed, so we're waiting to see how they did *fingers crossed* Meanwhile, yes, that is a new face in the naturally raised crew. Dressed up as an elephant is Cadfael — a PB/NIB dalmatian from a specially bred and naturally raised litter by nebula ☃️ . I've had him for several months now, but I haven't really been doing any natural raising, so he's only making his debut now. So, after all this time away, he's what ages we're coming back to our petz on for Day-26-that's-not-actually-Day-26 (I went up to a 4-day increase increment during SumOly, and we're going to hold there for now): Day 26 Ginger: 83 days old Riley and Cerys: 38 days old Cadfael: 12 days old
We're off to do some trick or treating around the community!

Pippa and Abbot have both earned their Silver Petz Citizen! I immediately started working with Abbot on his Gold Petz Citizen tasks: I will admit, I'm a bit worried about his inability to keep a neutral-looking expression. He always looks slightly sad (and sometimes angry, though we managed to keep the anger out today). And this was a challenging one, especially the "get your pass a pile of treats, ignoring the treats and focusing on you." We spent A LOT of time trying to train this, where I'd discipline Abbot with the spray bottle if he went for a treat instead of coming to my cursor after a double-click. He was NOT happy about this. I didn't realize one of the tasks for GPC was a conformation pose picture, but that's great, given it's my intention to show Abbot to SGCh after he becomes a Gold Petz Citizen! So we've got his pose picture all ready to go when that time comes: He doesn't have PB dali scales (he's actually a little smaller), so with his back feet aligned, his eyes are unlevel. But what can you do. I'm just happy when my dali mixies can line their back feet up

January 18, 2024Cadfael is 28 days oldRiley & Cerys are 55 days oldGinger is 99(!) days oldIt's been a while since I've played with my naturally raised crew. We were doing No-dopt, and then of course it was advent season, and now I'm back with a new addition to the crew: Alba! First things first, she got her bow. But here's a better picture of her showing off her double snout patches:
I adopted Alba from Helen. Her parents were naturally raised — and actually her mother, Wren, is the brother of Cadfael! So that means Alba is Cadfael's niece. Once I found that out, I knew I was going to end up naturally raising her too. I also knew that Cerys and Cadfael were related, but I didn't exactly know how. Well, looking through Alba and Cadfael's family tree made me realize that their grandmother/great grandmother, Budapest, is, it appears, a dalmatian I bred out of Perdita x Pongo (from my very first line of dalmatians!). And Perdita and Ponga are, of course, Cerys's great-grandparents. Making her and Cadfael...second cousins? Anyway, if that's confusing, I pieced together their family tree: So I had to introduce her to her uncle first: Uncle Cadfael is still waddling around from the see-how-many-treats-it-takes-to-make-a-pup-waddle No-dopt challenge. It wasn't long before they were playing with each other! They are both still puppies, though today is Cadfael's last day as one. Then we had to introduce Cerys and Riley:
Alba and Cerys seemed smitten with one another. (Cadfael, meanwhile, found this whole introductions thing quite still and formal and decided to take a nap.) We moved to the playpen where we also brought Pippa out. It's Pippa's last day in the crew before retirement! She will officially be 100 days old next time we take her out. We'll have to have a party for both her and Cadfael's adult birthday. After playing around for a while, I decided to give everyone a lunch break. Alba surprised me by willing to be able to take a bottle admidst this chaos. Of course, it didn't last long, and I had to put everyone else away to get her to eat. she's wary of the food bowl. but willing to give it a chance but she always has her guard up I rewarded her for being such a good girl with some treats. And then we went to see if she would take a nap (she would not). That's all for today!

Aww, this puppy crew is so cute! How is Alba mixed breed when all her ancestors are Dalmatians? I'm pretty sure the game is just not recognizing mixed breeds for any dogz that aren't currently in-game(?). Because while Alba's mom, Wren, is a PB dalmatian, her father, Rusty, is not. You can see a picture of Rusty (from Helen@DaisyChain) in this show on WW. Rusty is from whom she gets her cute lil lab tail. It's weird, right? loveee following your updates Szmantha ! the way you pieced together the family tree is so smooth, it's great seeing all the relatives branched out like that. Isn't it so fun? I love family trees too! So satisfying to see where everyone comes from and how eveyone is related in one place.
