SLASHER NIGHT: HALLOWEEN Today's feature is Halloween! This iconic 1978 slasher sees Laurie Strode and friends defending themselves from Michael Myers, an escaped murderer who's returned to his hometown to kill again. Today's hexie brexie, the oh-so-charming Laurie, would love to come home with the first person to correctly answer this trivia question:
Which Italian film genre are slashers based heavily off of? A. Giallo, B. Polizieschi, C. Spaghetti Western, D. Telefoni Bianchi

I'm guessing A because I *think* that B says Police or something about Police and D is something about a White Telephone? Neither of those strike me as very slashery. Of course I have NO idea what A is, so I could be way wrong, especially if it was like the police catching the bad guys kind of thing? I don't know, I'm sticking with A because Power of Elimination!

Good job, Emmer! Giallo is a film genre surrounding serial killers whose identities are never revealed; this eventually morphed into the slasher genre we see today. Laurie is on her way : - ) Switching reels ...

COMEDY NIGHT: THE CABIN IN THE WOODS Today's feature is The Cabin in the Woods! This supernatural horror comedy satirizes the tropes common in horror movies through the framing of a group of college kids' trip to the titular cabin in the woods. Today's hexie, the growly Alley Marty, would love to come home with the first person who correctly answers the following trivia question:
Which of the following could be considered a horror comedy? A. Psycho, B. American Psycho, C. American Beauty, D. Coming to America

SCI-FI NIGHT: THE FLY Today's feature is The Fly, a personal favorite of mine. This classic Cronenberg film follows the eccentric but charming Seth Brundle as he experiments with his transportation pods, unwittingly combining his DNA with that of a fly. Today's hexie, the timid Brundlefly, would love to come home with whoever can answer the following trivia question:
Which of these is widely regarded as the first sci-fi horror novel? A. Jekyll & Hyde, B. War of the Worlds, C. Frankenstein, D. Twenty-Thousand Leagues Under the Sea
ANNOUNCEMENT: Now that all of this week's movies have been revealed, you can vote on which of them to watch at tomorrow's (10.7) watchparty here!

C.? Frankenstein I haven't read all of these but maybe being a head library assistant might have paid off ? XD Hi Kayla! Since you won Sundays's hexie, you'll have to wait until the week after (so in this case, 10.8) to take another stab at it.
