Thanks for stopping by and happy Summer Olympics! Here I'm going to introduce my special edition Police K9 themed
SumOly team and give you a little backstory as to why I chose this theme this year and why I wanted to raise
awareness for the
National Police Dog Foundation charity. This charity has high ratings and the money is used to support the training and medical care of real life police dogs I am going to keep a running tally of all of the money raised. There's no pressure at all, but let me know if you give to this charity so we can celebrate. I will be providing personalized Police K9 stamps to donors and anyone who promotes this charity <3Last year, my team's theme was Miami simply because my mother and I were planning a trip to Miami to see our favourite
music artist, Pitbull, and we were super excited about it! But this year, the meaning behind my theme is a lot deeper and
hits home on a personal level for me. I hope it's appropriate to share this story because it does have to do with a relationship
I had, but I think it's definitely worth mentioning since it was very influential in conceiving this charity champaign and
I wouldn't have started this campaign in the first place if it wasn't for my ex.
While I've always known how important law enforcement was for our community, I didn't
pay much attention to appreciate them for just how much they do for us. However, in November 2023, this changed because I started dating a Correctional Officer. Long story short, we didn't work out and I had to break up with him. But this correctional officer taught me about the things he dealt with at the jail he worked at, and I started thinking it was, quite frankly, attractive and cool that he was an officer. I started watching the TV show 60 Days In, and I even tried my hardest to
get a job as a Sheriff Services Clerk which, I did not get the job,but I did make it onto their waitlist
(I'm #7)
Anyway, the point is this guy I dated made me realize how awesome Law Enforcement can be when they do their best to
uphold the law and be fair for our safety. As a result of my new found interest and being the goofy girl I am, I
made a few too many law enforcement jokes.
It was all light hearted and was never anything offensive, just stuff like "If I talk too much just tell me that I
have the right to remain silent" or asking him to pretend arrest me because it would make me giggle. He put
up with it for a while, but eventually he started downing me whenever I made jokes about the law. Which I also
happened to be taking a course in Law Office Administration, and whenever I study something, a new subject especially,
I tie it into jokes because I find it fun and I want to become a paralegal someday.
Then there was the final straw which was something pretty petty in my opinion
that he did not tell me was a dealbreaker initially that we previously discussed 3.5 months before he brough it up again.
I'm not too shy to share but I don't think I should go off on a tangent about that here.
Anyway, I knew I needed to breakup with him so I literally typed
up a two-page termination letter telling him how I feel in a kind and professional way, this letter which happened to be law-themed as if to say "I'm not changing my humour because of you", and it also mentioned that I did not feel comfortable even sharing this fun little SumOly charity campaign with him because he thought I was "way too into law enforcement". Then I started
thinking "How dare him?" He knows that he was the only reason I started actively appreciating law enforcement in the first
place so he should be proud. I knew I needed
to be with someone better who would appreciate my humour because I really enjoy being myself. At the end of the letter I did include "I wish you the best" Because I really do want him to be happy in life. I titled the letter "Notice of termination."
I proceeded to print this letter and mail it to him along with the steady ring he had given me. I was hurt and anxious for a few days after I shipped the package, but I'm ultimately grateful because God showed me his true colours and I truly believe that
everyone who comes into your life is either a lesson or a blessin'. I'm also grateful because my ex ignited a fascination
and appreciation within me for law enforcement, and as a result I started learning more about the law and I started
this campaign which I'm very much enjoying
TLDR: My ex who was a correctional officer didn't like me poking innocent fun about law enforcement but still
inspired this campaign/interest/appreciation I have for law enforcement which I will continue to enjoy.
Without further ado, meet Team K9 Unit!
In order from left to right: Sieta, Davina, Gacela, Mocha
Sieta:
Sieta is my K9 prodigy! The next generation heir to the Auvieay throne. She is Hershel's eight puppy born because it took
eight tries to actually get a puppy that had the athletic standard I was looking for. I actually had to pair Hershel with
a different mate to have Sieta because his former mate could not give us an heir. Sieta was named after the number seven
Siete, in Spanish because for a moment I thought she was the seventh born. Seven, which happens to be my favourite number
and the number of perfection, I felt this was a good omen for her
Sieta is very enegetic and hit the ground running as a puppy. She used to trot as an infant, but for some reason grew
out of it. She loves playing tug of war and has a sibling rivalry with her sister Tang! But thankfully gets along with
her family team members just fine. She has a lot of husky in her since I bred her with the classic husky OW file in-game.
Gacela:Gacela is Sieta's mother. Danes are stereotypically not athletically gifted, but don't let that fool you! She's very
agile and great at catching soccer balls. She loves running around, jumping through hoops, is judgmental towards cheese,
and her name means Gazelle in Spanish. I bred her from my own alternative acrobatic line so she is unrelated to the Auvieay
family, but fits right in especially with her deer-like appearance. Historically, many Auvieay dogz have been given deer
themed names.
Davina:Davina is our Deputy because she is our experienced athlete on our team. While she's not the most talented, she has
an abundance of passion for sports which makes up for it
She has competed in the 2022 Summer Olympics,
the 2023 Winter Olympics, as well as a few agility and trick shows around here. I love her personality as she's very
playful, free spirited, enjoys catching sticks, eating tomatoes, hoop jumping, and tug of war! She's been around for a
while as she was born in 2022. She is Hershel's sister which makes her Sieta's aunt!
Mocha:Mocha is a chocolate coloured Pitbull husky mix bred from my alternative acrobatic lines, which is a line of dogz I breed behind the scenes
in order to produce in-laws to breed with my Auvieay heirs.
Mocha is our newest member of the team. I was originally only going to have our three girls, but I figured Sieta needed a partner
for a special project I will be revealing soon, so I let her choose who she wanted and she chose him. Mocha and Sieta are best friends, but I hope I can strike them with cupid's arrow when the time is right
He is energetic and loves frolicking with the girls, but he's still rusty in sports because
I have not spent time training him. He participated and won fourth place in Amy's Frisbee Trial #4 and this is his first Summer Olympics event.
If you're wondering why he is not featured in my video intro, it's because it was before I added him to our team.
