We are following how AKC does their titles, if you're curious how our's compares to AKC, read the Branstorming Thread.
*****
Titles That can be earned;
Titles used before the show name-
Junior Courser (JC) - Dogs between the age of 35 & 99 on the brainslider must get 2 Qualifying scores of 80 or higher.
Qualified Courser (QC) - dog must run clean (not interfere with the other hound and pursue the lure) with another dog of similar running style.
Field Champion (FC) - 15 Points + 2 Majors in Open Trials
Titles used after the show name-
Lure Courser Excellent (LCX) - FC Title + 45 additional points from Special and Veteran Trials.
-The title of Lure Courser Excellent is a cumulative title. Each time a hound accrues an additional 45 championship points, it would be eligible to receive the next title level (LCX II, LCX III, LCX IV, etc.).
Senior Courser(SC) - 4 Qualifying runs
Master Courser (MC) - SC title + 20 Qualifying Runs
*****
The JC Title-
The Junior Courser (JC) title, is something fun for dogs between the age of 35 & 99.
They'd get judged the same as the actual races, but the scoring serves a different purpose. This time, they simply have to score 80 or higher to Qualify / Pass.
They'd have to do this 2 times to get their JC Title.
Please note, this does not certify your dog for the open races. You'll still need to earn the QC title on your dog before entering them in the Open trials.
The QC Title-
1. Dog must be Certified in order to compete in the Open category of the breed.
2. To certify, a dog must run clean (not interfere with the other hound and pursue the lure) with another dog of similar running style.
3. Judges can certify two or three dogs at the same time.
This means, you need to get your dog Certified before it can race in the Open races. You can certify up to 3 dogs at the same time.
This would require 1 video of 2-3 dogs running together after a lure;
^^After re-watching the video, Indy (Deerhound) also would not have passed because she was just bringing me the bowl, not pursuing the lure. So only Lavina would have gained his QC title in this example.
All dogs do not need to be trying for their QC title and you may use dogs that already have their QC title if you need to. Or you can have all 3 dogs trying for their QC title at the same time. It's up to you. As long as your dog / dogs pursue the lure and don't interfere with other dogs, they will pass. Dogs that get distracted / don't reach the end point will be considered as not pursuing the lure.
Open Trials
*Open to all breeds, but to enter, your dog must have their QC title.
1st place winner will be awarded points. Points will depend on how many other dogs are entered. So there must be at least 2 petz entered for points to be awarded. Here's a run down of how points would go;
1 Entry - 0 Points, no placement, but can get a 'Qualifying Run'
2 Entries - 1 point
3 Entries - 2 points
4 Entries - 3 points + 1 major
5 Entries - 4 points + 1 Major
6 Entries - 5 points + 1 Major
^You get the idea right?
Please note, any dogs Disqualified in the event will not be counted toward the total dogs won over.
15 Points + 2 Majors = Field Champion (FC) Prefix title (Meaning it'll go in front of the dog's show name)
Each dog will also earn a 'Qualifying Run' if they score 80 or higher. See below for more info on Qualifying Runs and what you can get from them.
Lure Courser Excellent Title
As well as Specials & Veterans Stake
*Any dog that has earned the title of Field Champion and has earned 45 additional championship points from the Special or Veterans Stake, shall be awarded the suffix title of Lure Courser Excellent (LCX).
*Specials will be breed specific. I will open Special trials once there are 5 or more of one breed registered and active. You will be able to earn points , majors, and Qualifying runs in these trials just like in open trials.
*Veterans Stake are open to all breeds but only to dogs who have achieved their FC Title. I will open Veteran Stakes once we have some FC titled dogs. Points will be given out the same way as in open trials, but no majors will be needed. You'll be able to earn 'Qualifying Runs' in these races too.
*The title of Lure Courser Excellent is a cumulative title. Each time a hound accrues an additional 45 championship points, it would be eligible to receive the next title level (LCX II, LCX III, LCX IV, etc.).
^Meaning, you can continue to race your dog for as long as you like and build up more and more titles. It's recommended to retire your dog from racing at 8 years of age. (Real life time or Game time, your choice )
Qualifying Runs
*Once a dog has achieved four qualifying runs (scoring 80 or higher) they earn a Senior Courser(SC) suffix title. Twenty additional qualifying runs after the SC title is earned will results in a Master Courser (MC) suffix title.
*You can earn 'Qualifying Runs' in Open, Special, and Veterans Stake trials.
