Stilts and Hydrogen - My First Catz!

Hello, everyone! I'm Penny, formerly of LPK, now of Just Dandy. After a long, long, break due to a computer crash losing my last natural pup and most of my total petz, I'm returning to the wonderful world of naturally raising some petz!

If you know me, you know I love dali mixes; they're one of my favorite breedz and they have my favorite faces by far! Dogz in general have been my thing since I started playing Petz again in 2016 or so... until now!

For the first time since I played the game as a little kid, I'm going to be playing with catz. It's been so long, I've forgotten all of their behaviors, so it's very much like I'm playing the game for the first time again! I'm going to be naturally raising two cute little kittenz to explore this new side of the game. I'm so excited to get to know them, and to discover what catz are all about!

I've adopted two catz! When I first got them, I aged them down to age 20 and will start from there!

Let's meet the newest members of the Just Dandy crew!

First up is Hydrogen, a cute red and cream kitty from Arie @ Litterz Factory. I fell in love with his beautiful colors; they're my two favorites! His orange eyes and fluffy tail also made him a must-have for my first pair of catz.

Isn't he a cutie??? I took him out in a room full of cat toyz that my dogz had never really loved: the cat dancer, a ball of yarn, the little jingle ball thing, and a scratching post to see what he'd like! I also put out the unicorn, my personal favorite toy from P5 (a set of P4-converted toyz from P5 can be found at Gossipin) and a bowl of kibble. Time to play!

Before Hydrogen went for the toys, he decided to frolic around a bit, letting me get to see a bunch of awesome cat behaviors! I had totally forgotten how cute and playful kittenz are! AND THEY CAN SCRATCH THE CARRY CASE omg I love this game <3

He then went straight for the ball of yarn. I guess the stereotype is true! He enjoyed carrying it around and batting it with his cute little paws!

Then he tried out the jingle ball. What a fierce hunter!

The cat dancer amused him for a while, but soon he decided he'd rather play with his food. He wasn't eating kibble, so I tried to give him treats and I was so shocked when he pounced on it! I absolutely love the way catz launch themselves at treats; it's a Big Mood lol

Next up is Stilts from the amazing Thor , the one who brought me back to Duke's Group and showed me the joys of naturally raising! Stilts is everything I wanted in a cat; I love his green eyes and the lovely cream and blue combo! Getting to know him is already amazing; he's so sweet and loving.

This little guy knew exactly what he wanted; he came out running and went right for the food! A cat after my own heart. He pushed it around for a bit but didn't eat, so I knew I had to give him treatz after playtime! It's only as I'm writing this that I'm realizing that these kittiez may be too young for kibble! I'll have to give them a bottle next time!

Stilts proved himself to be a competent hunter and caught both the jingle ball and the ball of yarn immediately. He ran around with the jingle ball, then pounced on the yarn. Look how proud he is of catching his coveted prey! So cute!!

While Hydrogen hadn't shown any interest towards the unicorn, Stilts loved it! He picked it up and carried it around. We have the same taste in toyz!

After all that play, it was time for treatz, which resulted in these amazing photos:

I'm super in love with Hydrogen's colors! What a dream kitty that Arie sold you <3 I'm glad you like Stilts! <3 Those images of them launching themselves at the treatz xD I love when Calicos do that little dance with their front paws all excitedly x3 And now I need that unicorn toy....

Thor They do!!!

After getting to know them individually, I decided to get to know them together!

Here's their first introduction they both seem a little unsure...

... and Hydrogen seems downright done with Stilts in this photo!

But soon they found they had something in common: a love for wrestling!

And by the end, they were friends!

I also decided to introduce these two to Dapper! He's the orange cutie in my profile pic, the mascot for my site, and my favorite pet I've ever had. He's the friendliest, goofiest, sweetest pup ever to grace a computer screen. He was the only dog to survive my big file crash (I recovered his file from when I sent him out on a playdate) and I love him a lot! I was hopeful that my new catz would love him too.

First I brought out Hydrogen to meet his first ever dog! Dapper had never met a cat, either, so they were both a little hesitant at first. There were more than a few cautious sniffs!

Soon, though, Dapper brought out Hydrogen's playful side! Look at that supercat leap!

The friendship was even faster with Stilts. It seemed like as soon as I brought him out, he ran right over to Dapper and began to play!

When I put Stilts away to close up the game for the night, Dapper got super sad! But don't worry; I let them play the next day! Update coming soon!

Another day, more time to play! I took my new boys out for some TLC, and that came in the form of a milk bottle! They're only age 26 here, and it's been so long since I naturally raised that I can't remember if that's too young for solid food. I decided to give it a try with the milk!

First came Hydrogen (who gets milk first because he's the first alphabetically lol). He saw the milk bottle and hated it! I was so surprised; I thought catz liked milk! But all he did for a good five minutes was stalk around, glaring at his bottle.

Just as I was starting to think that this cat hated milk, he took the bottle!!!

After he was all full, he decided to play around with the bottle, which he must have thought was the world's greatest toy. He ran around with it for quite some time, carrying it and pouncing on it!

I gave him a nice brushing after dinner; he seemed to really like it! Lots of purring here!

Then it was Stilts's turn for some yummy dinner! I brought him out and he began to eat immediately. I guess he was hungry! He even took the milk bottle and began to feed himself, which I thought was possibly the cutest thing ever.

I was getting ready to brush out his fur, but as I took out the brush, I heard a dog's whine from the door! Who was it? Dapper, of course, wanting to play with his new friend! I couldn't say no to that, so I let him out.

After a while of running and jumping around with Stilts, Dapper went to the carry case and knocked down his favorite toy, the unicorn, for them to play with.

This was followed by a howling/yowling duet and some more kisses for Dapper.

I'm thrilled that these two are already such good friends! Dapper's first experience with catz has been a great one so far, and I know Stilts will always have a big orange brother to look after him.

I think 26 is old enough for solid food ahaha because they are teenagers at that point :P

I love your new kitties! Their color schemes are particularly nice! I especially love Hydrogen's, very fall-esque. It looks like the two of them are becoming good friends! Looking forward to more updates

Every day I learn something new about catz, and today I learned that catz are really freaking weird.

Introducing... The Battle of the Bowls

I started out with four food bowls of kibble for my kittiez to choose from. I chose the green catz food, the generic petz red kibble, the generic petz blue kibble, and dog food just for kicks. I arranged them in a line (modeled by the lovely Stilts and Hydrogen themselves):

First I let Hydrogen pick his dinner; he's got the advantage of being first alphabetically, so he always gets let out first! Soon I'll start taking them out together more (and introducing them to some of the other petz in my crew), but I want to get to know them as individuals first. Hydrogen was very playful and did a little dance as he looked at all his yummy food choices!

Then he pounced on the blue bowl! I was shocked that he had chosen so quickly, but it turned out that he just wanted to play with it for a bit. His love soon soured, though, and he didn't touch the blue bowl again! I guess it tasted bad.

Next he went for the silver dog food bowl, but the same thing happened; after a while of playing, he began glaring at it and then me (for even daring to suggest he'd eat food like a dog). I ended up putting it away so he wouldn't be so mad!

And then came the weird part. When he picked up the green food bowl, I thought it would be the same thing, but Hydrogen surprised me: he took the food and put it on the yellow chair in the toy closet room. And then he left it there! I assumed that he didn't like it...

Until he did the same thing with the red bowl! Here's a picture with background with him on the chair (I'm calling it the Food Chair). No clue why he thought food bowls = perfect chair decorations.

This cat was getting hungrier and hungrier but making no moves to eat. I took the bowls off the Food Chair and placed them on the ground, hoping I would convince him of their deliciousness. And it worked! Hydrogen jumped off the chair and went straight for the red food bowl.

After running around with it for a bit, he began to eat!

But after dinner, where did the bowl go? Back on the Food Chair!

Apparently bowls go on chairs in this house.

Of course, Stilts needed to be fed as well, so I took him out after arranging the bowls in the same way. He made a beeline for the blue bowl and did a fun little cat dance to celebrate.

But soon something shinier caught his eye. He abandoned the blue for the dog food bowl and took it... to the Food Chair!!! He began dropping it or even throwing it from the chair, which I wasn't even aware was something petz could do. I didn't manage to snap any photos of Stilts hurling his food across the room, but there are some of him dropping it from the chair. He did this for a good five minutes. I think I may have found his favorite game!

And then he started doing the same thing with the blue food bowl!!!

After playing with the blue food bowl for some time, Stilts jumped down from the Food Chair and went over to the silver dish. I thought it was going to be another round of the weird Food Chair game, but he actually wanted to eat! I think he liked it, every once in a while he would stop to meow and wiggle with joy. He even started tossing it in the air with his paws at one point! So cute!

I suppose it's a good thing he found a kibble he likes, even if that kibble is technically dog food.

Anyway, long story short, both of my cats are obsessed with the Food Chair and are very weird, which only makes me love them more. Thanks so much for reading along!
