Day 3: Eeek, glad there is only a minor paw injury.I treated Felix for his paw, but he was so excited to run didn't have the heart to put him on the sled. We are pushing a bit more today as a surge before we slow down into a "turtle wins the race" pace for the harder days ahead.
Updated my card for Day 4

Day 3Accident Report Aspen Grove - After a day in the sled, Echo is ready to rock and roll! Blackbird - Rue is still struggling with diarrhea. Borealis - Danger is still struggling with Diarrhea, and it has spread to Jessie - 1 endurance. Insanity - Felix's paw looks good to go. However Spirit broke his foot and must be dropped at the next checkpoint. (I will do this, but you need to plan accordingly) Lighthouse - I fell off and wrecked, and almost busted myself. Thankfully my dogs swerved and managed to make sure nothing broke. I'm ok, but my leg is super bruised. Lucky me, I have a sit-down sled. Nightshade - Nothing happened, you are trucking along! Northern Lights - Still gathering energy at the start line! Thor - Lucky's paw is still pretty raw. But the rest of your team is happy and perky!

I probably should rest and give Danger and Jessie some time to heal, but that weather report is calling out to me to continue while the weather is still looking lovely. So I head back out after treating both Danger and Jessie for diarrhea and making sure they both drink plenty of water.

Thor Day 4: I've updated my sheet :) Action 1: I will continue to treat Lucky, and he will continue to rest on the sled until he's better. Action 2: Taking my 8 hr rest in whatever place I can. I'm running/pacing for 16 hrs today and might be able to stop in whatever is nearest-- it might be Cripple because I don't think I'll make it to Ruby. (Wonders if I'll see bird resting here) I decided to do a little roleplaying in a journal (separate post so people can comment): dj7.proboards.com/post/74414/thread

@little Bit I'd like 8 hours rest at the next checkpoint (is that possible? How does this work? I'm just filling in 16 hours and hoping for the best?). And treat Rue (if possible) whilst resting anyway.
Day 4: Poopsiedaisy. Hmm Rue's been pooping all over the place. You can probably track us down all the way to when her diarrhea started. So I decided to start today with 8 hours rest! I watch Thor disappear in the horizon. I'm sure we'll catch up soon though! The weather up ahead looks terrible. So we better make sure everyone has a high mood. We decide to sing who let the dogz out. The dogz mostly barked, I sang. By the time we had rested and went my counterweight Sleighdog hid deep inside her bag. He doesn't like stormy weather at all. It's game on now, but we're ready for this!

Day 4: Going to do quite a bit of pushing today, feeling good after a day of no incidents, taking breaks and some low time pacing here and there, being sure to give the dogz plenty of food to keep a steady run most of the day

Day 4: We are going to pace for 8 hours, then take our mandatory rest of 8 hours, then run for 8 hours (hopefully missing the majority of that bad weather spike in the middle). Spirit is now on the sled, and will be dropped off whenever the next checkpoint is reached.

Day 4 Accident Report Aspen Grove - Nothing happened, you parked it in the snow, and had a restful day. Blackbird - Rues Diarrhea has cleared up! Borealis - Danger and Jesse are both still struggling with Diarrhea. Lacey has come down with a virus. -2 Endurance, and she must be treated in the field or put on the sled. Insanity - Puck has come down with Diarrhea, this will eventually go away on it's own. -1 endurance Lighthouse - My dogs Rosita, and Austin got into a dog fight, no injuries, but I will be keeping a close eye on them! Nightshade - Amazing luck! Nothing happened! Northern Lights - You have officially been drafted into the cheering squad! Thor - Lucky is still limping on that foot. But you now have bigger problems. Raspberry broke their foot and must be dropped at the next checkpoint!

I notice that Lacey has come down with a virus, so I tuck her onto the sled and keep alternating pacing and pushing the last few miles to Ruby. Upon arriving at Ruby, I take an 8-hour rest during which I treat Danger and Jessie for diarrhea and also treat Lacey's virus - and grab a nap for myself! After our rest, we get back on the trail refreshed and ready to go!
PS: I am not sure how to fill out the card for Lacey's being on sled for the 50-ish miles to Ruby, so I'm leaving it blank.
