A trivial comedy for serious petz
After recently seeing this play again, I decided it was worth doing a remake with some petz of Duke's Group. And if anybody hasn't read it before, here's your chance to experience it! This is a fairly short play, and it's a very excellent comedy, so it should be fun!
I don't want to spoil the story as it really is worth experiencing. So without any further ado, here is the casting call! Feel free to sign up for any parts you think your petz would fit into, and we'll be hopefully starting the play soon!
The Cast:
1. John (Jack) Worthing - Male - a very proper, somewhat secretive man, who is trying to marry Miss Gwendolen Fairfax
2. Algernon Moncrieff - Male - an extremely stylish young man who loves to eat muffins
3. Rev. Canon Chasuble - Male - a sweet old reverend whose every line is just weird metaphors and puns
4. Merriman - Male - a butler (small part)
5. Lane - Male - another butler (small part, but more than Merriman)
6. Moulton - Male - gardener (very small part)
7. Lady Bracknell - Female - A VERY commanding, high-class female who terrifies EVERYONE and is usually the star of the play
8. Gwendolen Fairfax - Female - A beautiful young miss, under the care of Lady Bracknell, who is in love with Jack Worthing
9. Cecily Cardew - Female - Jack Worthing's ward (young girl under his care) who is the youngest of all the cast; falls in love with Algernon; very wild and interesting
10. Miss Prism - Female - Cecily's teacher and caretaker; an older lady, who is quite obviously in love with the Reverend Canon Chasuble
So we need 10 petz in total for the play! To sign up, post a picture of your auditioning pet, let me know their name, and which role they'd like to play. Feel free to include as many of your crew as you'd like for signups!
