Worked hard a few days ago on hexing a bunny breedfile that meets my personal criteria for both cuteness and petzyness! Along the way, I adopted a test bunny who I just got so attatched to that I just... couldn't delete him. Instead, I started editing his personal lnz to match the breedfile as I made various tweaks until I was satisfied.
LNZwise, there's actually very little "originality" in this file. This is mostly just a hex-painted composite of PFM's two slightly-different bunny lnz files.
The color scheme and texture is lifted directly from the Persian and Chinchilla Persian
The idea to add outlines to the Linez on the edges of the ears came from looking at the Bunny Ears clothing item.
My hexing motto: "Why be original, when you can steal from the people who made the game?"
"Original" choices were that I:
omitted the buttmost tail ball for pants-related reasons - also unused brown/pink LNZ in the bunny breedfile suggests it's not part of the "cotton tail" anyways? just nix it
made the head and body a little bigger so he'd be cuter and more "to scale" with other breeds of petz. - I also like to think he's a "giant" bunny breed, like a Flemish Giant or something.
And... yea. I didn't change the head or ear shape at all! Probably one of the most conservative "bunny fixes" out there, seeing as the majority of the "fixing" was combining it with other PFM files (including, essentially, an alternate-universe version of itself).
I'll probably age him down and play with him from babyhood now that the file is finished. While playtesting him, I noticed some cute quirks... he seems to to the Meezer Walk sometimes, and I've noticed he's fussy about food. Pretty sure this is a "him" thing, not a "typical bunny personality" thing... maybe he's unusually Finicky for a rabbit?
He broke physics at one point, entering a state of simultaneously being "inside" and "outside" the basket... levitating when I picked the basket up... I haven't seen it happen since, though. A magician's bunny?
Also he does BunnyStuff! BunnyStuff is special animations bunnies do sometimes when they're not focused on anything more important. You can usually recognize when BunnyStuff is happening because their eyes glaze over, like so:
I've seen a grazing animation (this one), a hopping animation, and a sniffing animation, but I'm just kind of terrible at capturing pics when they do happen. There might be more animations than those three? I need to play with bunnies more to really know for sure, I think.

LOL Ass Master, what a name for a bunny! XD I love it! I like your bunny file, even if it is not changed much from the original, I still think it is cuter than the original and I like the little tweaks you made. I think I like the face better than the face on my own bunny file, makes me want to mess with it some more and see if I can make mine better than it is. Maybe I will get around to that.
But anyway, yay for someone else knowing that rabbits don't have paw pads! Just a random fun fact that I think it's cool to know. And I'm excited to discover that there are unique animations for rabbits, they have at least a few behaviors of their own! I have a few bunniez but I have never seen them do any of the BunnyStuff. However, there could be two reasons for that. One, I haven't actually spent a whole lot of time playing with them and paying attention to what they were doing. And two, they are all based on Carolyn's Breedable Bunny file, and I don't know what she did to make them breedable, whatever she did may have changed their behavior, I'd like to find out. Time to spend some time with my bunniez and do some testing! This is because my three bunniez were all hexed using Carolyn's Breedable Bunny file as a base. But I really want to see the BunnyStuff, so I guess it's time to adopt some new bunnies!
It's good to meet Ass Master with his finickyness and basket levitating trick, LOL!

The funny thing is, Meer? I didn't change the face at all! All the ballz on the head are exactly the same size and position they would be on the original PFM breedfile. It's just that the face PFM designed for the bunny looks better when it's rendered bigger. The shape of the muzzle, the cute little nose... they just don't show up quite right on the original breed's size settings.
Normally PFM was pretty good about scaling the complexity of a pet's face to the size of its face (mice faces are simpler than catz faces are simpler than dogz faces, chihuahuas have more mouse/cat like faces than bigger dogz breeds...), so I have to wonder what happened there. The bunny seems like it shipped in a far less finished state than the pig, though, so that probably has a lot to do with it.
(I'd love to build a history of the bunny but it's a little harder than the pig... less in the way of documentation, more in the way of weird scraps of unused content scattered around the game files. Less of a "Bunny Historia" and more of a... Cottontail Apocrypha? Lapine Arcana?) Yea, sorry about that . You want Bunnystuff, you gotta hex off of the PFM bunny behavioral data! (Sidenote: ButterflyChaser made a nonbreeding Bunny OW in 2014 that took advantage of the bunny's weird coding to give it oddballz flying animations, but she apparently had to do all kinds of weird stuff with dog breedfiles and dog/cat hybrid monstrosities to get the behavior to pass down to second-gens... So that makes me wonder if the normal breedfile's "BunnyStuff" animations are equally difficult to carry over to 2nd-gens? I hope not, but I haven't had an opportunity to test it.)
Oh, and one more thing...
Assmaster's breedfile, the 2020 Bunny, is now up for download on Litterz Factory! (Thanks, Arie!) It's explicitly designated as hexing base as well as just a file to adopt from, so... if anyone would like to build their own personalized bunny off of this base, it's 100% allowed.

Wow I really love what you've done here! It feels so like the original, but definitely a much needed improvement. Really nice work I hope to hear more about "BunnyStuff". Ooooo maybe I should hex some for PUGS, since it's up for download
