Task #1 Featuring Blam! With no distractions Blam did great! He loves the attention so he was pretty eager to come over.
To challenge ourselves more we headed to the backyard where Blam's favorite toy was on display, the autoroll ball! This was a disaster, as Blam chose the ball over my calls every time. However, it is one of his favorites so maybe this behavior is specific only to this toy?
To test this theory I brought out Bailey and attempted to call Blam
Success! Blam listened perfectly and stopped playing with Bailey in order to follow my calls! So I guess toy distractions are something I need to work on with him in the future

Great job so far everyone! I am giving a few days between tasks so everyone can have time to do them and practice them more than once. The more you practice, the better your petz will get! Being able to come away from toy distractions will be very handy when it comes to Petz Citizen Scheme especially!

I went digging through my e-mails & happened across this 2010 girl from Anne @ Still Water! I totally didn't freak out when I saw that she was a PB dane Right now, she's named Eclipse, but that's definitely subject to change with how weird I get about names lol Thought she'd be fun to train up & show at the PKC with, so who knows (I think she's P-reg anyway)?!
Task #1- Recall
^ Ready for her first lesson!Didn't realize the background was on for the rest of these pics lol Eclipse was easily distracted at first & I definitely wanted her attention off of me & back to the task at hand. She did want those treats though! The last two pics are of a good scratching & reward after her first go about. After a few times more of trying the 'click and come' technique it was onto the big test... distraction timeeeeHad to bring the big guns out for this, & I'm talking cheese, hedgehog plushie, bone, wool chew toy, and star ball Of course we had the pillows and cat scratchers too, but she really took no notice of those. ^ The cheese was too much of a temptation!
It took about three clicks to get her back on track. ^ Weaving past the hedgie! It's the home stretch Eclipse!
All in all, tonight was a success! Definitely need to keep up the practice, but she's also still a lil pup. ^ A nice recall even when tired. What a trooper!Tomorrow I definitely want to test her with another pet present. It's her first night, don't wanna overwhelm her. Extra pic cause I thought it was too cute not to include <33

Maxine knew a decent recall starting this...
She loves to sit at the end of a recall (reminds me of a real recall)
She did really well with a few distractions.
Whoops, the circus ball was too much.
RUN!
Trotting past a bone
Running past toys and food like a champ
Turbo isn't a problem either.
Toys AND Turbo? No problemo!

Great job everyone!!!! Looks like all the petz did a pretty good job!
*Task #2*
For this task, we are going to build on the recall and work a bit on heeling. A pet who will follow you anywhere, you'll be able to easily guide them where you need them. Great for free stacking, good petz citizen tasks, and obedience work.
For this, simply click close to your dog, then move slowly away. If they follow you by walking, pet and reward them. Start with going just a little ways in front of them, then build it to following you clear across the scene. Once they are doing good with that, have them follow you across the scene to the right, then back to the left side of the scene.
Then you can make things harder by adding in the distractions again. See if they can follow you even with distractions laying around or another pet out. You can even work in moving your hand in random directions.
Don't forget to reward with lots of petting and treats!

Task #2 Blam loves attention of any sort so he was pretty eager to follow my hand!
He even did well with toys this time, even if a certain furry friend tagged along...

Great job everyone! ::Task #3:: Take out the Milk Bone treats and wiggle it below your dog. If you've never trained your dog anything with treats before, the first two times you wiggle it, they'll do something silly and usually fall over. Reward them for trying. Reward them two times in a row for what ever they do. This shortens how many times they do silly stuff. If you have trained with treats before, skip this part. Now, wiggle the treat below and wait for a sit OR alert down. Reward the first one they give you! Try to get them to do the same thing 3 times in a row. Note down in their profile what they did and for what treat. If you have an adult dog, put a treat at the top of the scene, after they eat it, call them down to your hand so they have to walk straight down. If they aren't completely straight, use a treat to help straighten them out. I'll post an example below. Wiggle the treat and take a pic (no background) of them doing the task. You can use this in PKC Obedience. Example:
