General Playing
Introduce your pet to various toyz and let him/her interact with whichever they want.
Decorate your home: hang photos, display decorative items, etc.
Let your pet help you grow a garden.
Make a photo of your pet for the photo frame.
Find an outfit or outfits that your pet likes. Dress for the weather or occasion.
Find your pet a friend. Did you discover a rivalry or other type of relationship with other petz you own?
Get your pet to drink from the water bowl.
Take your pet to a travel playscene and document them meeting the other playscene hosts. Dress for the occasion. Which playscenes hosts does your pet like/dislike?
Throw a party for your pet to celebrate a recent win or age growth. Is a holiday coming up that you can celebrate with your petz?
Host a playdate, inviting petz over and documenting the visit.
Get the catnip out and see how your pet reacts to it.
Does your pet have any interesting quirks (animations) or moves that he does when he's nervous or excited?
Training
Come up with a list of items you would like to improve on with your pet. Will this pet be shown? Will this pet do trials? Flyball? Training is important to start young. Be sure to reward with pets and treats.
Train your pet to fetch a toy (meaning to bring back). Can they catch the toy mid-air? Are they clumsy? Do they stay focused?
Train your pet to catch the flying disk.
Train your pet to hunt prey that moves such as a mouse or an auto-rolling ball.
Train your pet to jump through hoops.
Train your pet to compete in flyball. Try a flyball trial.
Train your pet to pose for a camera click. Alignment and head position are important so reward lots when they have good ones (even before full age).
Train your pet to come when called-- no focused on distractions, trotting, sitting when called. Always reward good behavior.
Train your pet to run and chase when called and focus on your hand. Perhaps you can even get some good photos for PKC trials!
Train some tricks. I like to look at PKC when deciding what tricks to teach-- Sit & Lie Down Alert (down tricks) are common for Novice Obedience. Handstand, headstand, backflip, somersault (up tricks) and Roll (left/right tricks) are commonly used in Open Obedience. Other ones for Toy and Terrier premier offer other fun tricks for photos.
Try out the P4 feature-- Voice Commands. See what happens when you try to talk to your pet. Ask him to bring a toy or call him by name.
Issue a challenge to other petz-- either a specific one or species or all petz. Think of what your pet does well and see if other petz can compete!
Join a contest or show with your pet on DG. If no shows exist, host one instead.
Show your pet in forum shows or register and show on PKC (or other similar forums outside of DG).
