This Bentley thread will mainly be x-posts this month from Rho's Photo A Day Challenge on RKC.

Hi, I'm Bentley II!



I recently received Bentley (the second!) from salem and I'm really excited to naturally raise him over the next month and hopefully share a lot of photos of him here during this challenge (thank you Rho for hosting!).

This pup has quite the interesting backstory! You may know his ancestor... Bentley (the first!).



He was very popular for two reasons.

The first being his beauty! He was such a gorgeous dali with those icy blue eyes, fuzziness, and the halfie cream that perfectly matched his cream chi chest patch. I gasped the day I bred him because I thought he was sooo stunning! I ended up getting a lot of requests for him on my Funfetti Breeding Service @ WW. A lot of fellow pc members adopted his pups!

And the second reason, well, it ended up being referred to as the Bentley Curse. One day, on Petzcord, we were all talking about an odd phenomena that a lot of us were experiencing all of a sudden... some of our dogz just would NOT pose! I remember snapping photos of one of my pups for over 30 minutes before he finally posed for me. As we began to look further into it, we realized a couple common features of these non-posing dogz. They all had 100 independence and Bentley was in their family tree. I quickly checked Bentley's independence value to see that his was 97. Eep! Was Bentley the cause of all these terrible show dogz? His genetics were so beautiful, yet so frustrating xD;;

Bentley was one of my top favorite petz, but unfortunately, I ended up losing him last month in a computer crash. A lot of my petz were backed up on either Google Drive, TFM, emails, Discord, etc but I lost a good few petz that I personally bred or hexed... Bentley included. This was super sad for me, but to my surprise... the incredible friend and breeder salem came to my rescue...



I still have no idea how she so perfectly bred a second Bentley! He even has the old Bentley in his lineage. She was beyond sweet and thoughtful to have spent so much time breeding him for me ;-; Seriously, so so kind. <3

I can't wait to naturally raise and get to know this new Bentley! I'm also so excited to be doing this along side of everyone! It's going to be so wonderful to log on (hopefully) everyday and watch all of our petz grow up together, hehee.

Day 2: Holding A Flower



I was so excited to play with Bentley this morning when I woke up. I haven't naturally raised a pet since rejoining the pc back in November. Honestly, I was so blown away at PetzA that I just really got into using that, ahaha. But now that the magic of PetzA has somewhat faded for me, I'm really happy to get back into playing the game as it used to be played back when I was a kid.

It's so nice to get to know Bentley! We went to the garden today and planted some tulips together. I found out that he is absolutely terrified of the watering can. He got in the way as I was watering the seeds and he flipped out and lost his mind, ahaha. Poor pup. 

We grew some pretty tulips together though and he seemed very curious and happy to be growing them! Something really funny about Bentley II is that he is ALWAYS posing for the camera. I'm like, "Oooh this is a cute shot! I love how you're interacting with this thing!" and I take a picture and all of a sudden he stops what he's doing immediately to pose for the camera xD Salem did mention that he is an improvement over the late Bentley in terms of his independence level, aha. I believe it's VERY low.



Bentley's favorite part of out morning adventure was the BUTTERFLY. Boy, did he ever love that little thing. He was completely obsessed with it and chased it around like crazy and kept trying to catch it xD

I also noticed that he is super protective over his toys. I would introduce him to a new one, and he wouldn't want to play catch or bring it back to me. He only wanted to hold onto it in his mouth. Then he ended up digging a big hole and started burying all his toys in there for safe keeping, bahahaa.




At one point I was even worried he was going to bury the poor lil mouse alive... lmao



He really loved holding onto each toy I gave him. Didn't want to play catch or bring it back to me. Our day ended with him falling asleep while holding onto the star ball for dear life xD

Awww oh my goodness <3 I hope it's okay I post here! I'm sorry you lost the first Bently, and that was super sweet of Salem to do for you! Now you get to raise this super cute Bently and learn all about him. I'm already loving reading about him and his personality. His coloring is super cute and his personality is fun sounding too! I look forward to following along as you raise him!

Amy: Oooh thanks Amy! So happy to be a part of DG, finally. Thanks for sharing that app! I'm not sure if I will be able to get it working on my Mac, but I'll give it a try soon. I see Thor using it all the time and I was wondering how she was doing it xD

Day 3: Taking A Nap

I was so happy waking up again knowing that I was going to spend my morning coffee with Bentley! I read through some recent posts here and saw that some of you guys were trying to figure out your petz' favorite toy today. I'm assuming it's because tomorrow we are suppose to get a shot of them with it xD

I thought figuring out Bentley's favorite toy would be a fun thing to do this morning too, so we headed to the Toy Closet together!

Before introducing him to some new toyz, I decided to help start his day off right with some good ol' scratches and belly rubs, hehehe.




After that, it was time to see if he had a favorite ball...



Bentley seemed a lot more interested in sharing the ball with me so I could throw it for him today. Yesterday morning he was super protective about every toy I introduced him to. He wouldn't let them out of his mouth and ended up burying them in the flower bed, haha. I was pretty happy about how willing he was to play fetch and bring the ball back today!

It made me wonder if he's more inclined to share now after an experience he had yesterday afternoon:

I introduced Bentley to another one of my pups that I've decided to naturally raise as well: Huxley II



When Bentley came out of the kennel and saw that Huxley was playing with his (lol) star ball, he ran up and snatched it up immediately. 



But after getting to know Huxley more, Bentley initiated a ball toss with him!





Sigh... too cute ♡

So maybe that experience from yesterday changed him a bit! He was a lot more willing to share the balls I showed him today. He absolutely LOVED playing fetch. I couldn't figure out which ball he preferred the most though, but then I brought out the star ball...



That's it. That's the one, lol. He got sooo excited when he saw it again, tried ripping it apart, ran all around the Toy Closet and would not let me have it, and then finally decided he would put it down for me to throw for him xD We ended up playing a LOT more fetch together with the star ball. He even did some crazy backflips when retrieving it! I wonder if he has a high acrobatics value?

After a while, I decided to put the star ball away and try out some other toyz to see what other categories he liked. Stuffed toyz maybe? Does he want chewy toyz? What else is he interested in? ^^




NOTHING?! I showed him so many toyz and I was baffled at how completely bored he became. He didn't want to play with any of them.

Something weird was going on...

so I took the star ball back out...



Zero interest. Ok, Bentley is officially broken xD What's going on?! I had to take a peek at his PetzA sliders to see...



Eep! He is starving!! Ahh, the poor thing ;-;

I hadn't fed him yet today, and I guess all that ball chasing worked up a big appetite. Whoops!



He licked that bowl CLEAN and then decided he had a new favorite toy: the food bowl xD

He would not let that empty bowl out of his mouth, ahaha.. he even ended up taking a nap with it in his mouth:

4. My Favourite Toy

Yesterday I downloaded the extra PF Magic (Petz 4) toyz that they released for download on their website back in the day after the game came out. They are available at Middle Night if anyone is interested in getting them!

I thought it would be best to feed Bentley at the beginning of our playtime today because I didn't want him to starve again like yesterday, hahaa, whooops ^^;;





So I introduced Bentley to the extra PF Magic Toy: The Auto Feeder! I was really excited to see these toyz again because I remember being really excited about downloading them from the official website as a kid. Bentley seemed very surprised by it at first, but then decided to try some of the kibble...



Ummm Haha, not exactly great programming on PF Magic's side. But yes, he somehow ate the kibble through the plastic chute!

He only ended up eating a bit of it, so I figured he must still be full from yesterday.

Moving on, I introduced him to the adorable Unicorn Beanie! I noticed on Petzcord that Thor had this in her Petz 4 game and I was soooo excited when she sent me the file. I didn't realize someone had converted it to be used in Petz 4 too! Yaaay!!



Bentley actually really enjoyed playing with it. He wanted me to throw it around so he could go fetch it, ahaha. Super cute!

Then I decided it was time for the ultimate showdown: the unicorn versus the star ball. Which would he choose?



Nothing beats the star ball! That is still his favorite toy ♡

I ended up checking his PetzA sliders again and saw his fullness was only 8?! Odd. I hadn't fed him very long ago, but maybe it was all the running around? Anyway, I took the auto feeder back out and noticed Bentley didn't really want to eat much of it. I thought that was really weird considering how hungry he was. When he did nibble at the food, I noticed his fullness slider barely went up. I'd have to do a more thorough check to confirm, but it seemed as though the time spent eating from the auto feeder didn't raise his hunger level nearly as quickly as a regular bowl of food did. I ended up bringing out the blue food bowl, his favorite, and he quickly jumped to it and gobbled it all up. I watched his fullness bar go up super fast too!




Finally, we ended our day with the red PF Magic petz bed. I'm so happy to have it back in my game again. It's so big and pretty!! Bentley really loved it, hehee ^^

I'm actually not the biggest fan of some of the *new* PFM additions (like the auto feeder).

I find it so funny that you had a weird adventure with food-- I also had that problem! I think my petz weren't napping because they were too hungry!

Day 5: Running FAST!

Ooh, I had such a busy day today that I didn't get around to playing with Bentley until tonight.

I'm happy I found the time to play fetch with him ♡



He certainly loves to run fast after his favourite star ball!

His barks are deeper now and I believe he is officially an adult at age 33 on the PetzA slider?

Can't believe he grew up so fast ;-;

He's still mommy's lil goofball tho...



He loves to 'ride' on the pet bed xD

Maybe I should introduce him to the skateboard next!

Gosh, he does NOT like the skateboard. All he did was growl at it and beat it around with his paw ^^;;
