Introduce your team! Write a post about your pet(z) that are going to participate.
For my team I have just two dogz, but they're both very special to me: Aurora and her son Harlequin!
Aurora is extra special to me because she's a rediscovered treasure. Back in 2013, I first entered the PC with a small crew of dalmatians, founded by four: Penny (my namesake), Peter, Pepper, and Pongo. When my files were wiped out in a computer crash, I thought that my original crew was gone forever. Imagine my surprise when years later I discovered an email I had sent myself in 2013 with .pet files attached! I opened them up and was stunned to find Aurora. Not only is she a beautiful and playful dog, she's also the granddaughter of two of my original dalmatians, Pepper and Pongo. She's a little piece of my history, and I'm thrilled to have her back after all these years!!!
Aurora first came to me as a puppy, so I decided to raise her alongside my naturally raised Tamsin Families. She got on very well with her new friends Clementine and Aveline, and eventually fell in love with Aveline's older brother, Tempertin.
Eventually she and Tempertin had their first puppy together, a little fluffball I named Harlequin! Harlequin is the third generation of naturally-raised tamsins I've been playing with, and I love that he's a combination of the old and the new! I kept these guys foldered for a while, so Harlie is still a puppy even though he was born months ago, but I'm looking forward to watching him grow up this summer as part of Summer Olympics (my very first)!!

Show your team spirit-- Dress your pet up in team colors.
Dressing these two up in Team Flamingo's awesome colors was pretty much the first thing I did, but now it's time to post about it!!
Aurora is showing off her summer style with a pair of butterfly wings, pink-rimmed glasses, and a charming rosy bow, while Harlequin has a more wild way of showing his team spirit with a spiked mohawk, cool pink shades, pink trousers, and a little bow tie. I think they like their outfits!
And they're certainly ready to represent Team Flamingo and think pink!!!

Make a new avatar & signature.
I had made a new Team Flamingo avatar the other day when I found out what team I was part of; I just couldn't wait to get into the team spirit!! Today I made a matching signature.
I love that the PC and the Summer Olympics event more specifically encourages such fun little graphics! I always have a great time making them

Make some new stamps, trading cards, or other collectible graphics.
This is the reason I joined Summer Olympics lol
I made some little stamps of my two team players, one of them together because this is all about family fun in the sun, and finally an animated stamp! Took me a while to figure out how to do it, but I'm happy with the results! These are free for anyone to collect and display, so if you like them, take them!

Your graphics are so pretty, omg. I'll be taking a stamp or two for my site for when I get around to updating it.

Have fun at the beach!
It's been a while since I've played; I've been busy with other petzy projects and real-life stuff. But the stamp contest spurred me back into action! I chose a pirate theme for my stamps, and while I was at the South Seas Island I got to thinking... this is a beach, right? So after we took some photos for the stamps, we had some fun at the pirate beach!
(Thor, if this doesn't count since it's not the official Beach playscene, just don't count this one lol).
I got Harlequin and Aurora all dressed up for their photoshoot. Harlequin is so big now! He's age 81 and he looks so grown up, especially in a scary pirate hat! Mom Aurora went for the casual but classic bandana and eyepatch look, and I think she's rocking it!
That parrot toy in the first picture was a favorite for both dogz. Aurora was a little hesitant at first, but was soon running around with her new feathery friend, and Harlequin didn't want to let go!
We found some other treasures at the beach too, including feathers, a golden dubloon, and a few messages in bottles! I'm thinking of making a playscene to collect all of the cool stuff that shows up in playscenes that you can't get from the toy closet and calling it "The Museum" or something. But it was obvious that Aurora's favorite treasure was the coconut. She kept running around with it and playing catch with Harlequin! I think it's so cute how dogz can balance toyz on their noses; it's adorable!
And we found some real treasure too! Aurora even started digging a hole for it... and then immediately stopped once I started taking pictures of her lol. I guess there will be no buried treasure today, but I think both dogz still had a lot of fun, and so did I!

Hexing and Breeding: Texture I figured I might as well post this here too, because even though it didn't work out how I planned it, it's still pretty cool! Team Flamingo is lucky in that Petz has a TON of pink clothing, but as I was searching through the clothes closet, I felt as though I was missing something. Specifically, a pink version of the Hawaiian shirt (original modeled here by the handsome Harlequin). This way, Aurora and Harlequin could have complementary sweaters! And all I would need to do was make a new texture.
I figured it would be an easy recolor, and as long as I used the colors from the Petz palate, I'd be okay! I edited the original texture in GIMP, reduced the color depth, and was apparently good to go. This is a (very zoomed in) image of my final pink floral texture. Cute, right? Now all I needed to do was add it to the shirt! I followed Buck's awesome tutorials on creating clothing to add the texture into a file I named Pink Hawaiian Shirt. I booted up my game, asked Aurora to model for me, found the shirt in my closet, and...
That doesn't look right! What happened? I quickly hopped on the hexing channel in the Petzcord server to ask for help. Thor kindly created an edited bitmap image for me to try instead, which led to an... interesting result. Aurora seems to really like it, though!
Arie cleverly suggested that I import the official Petz color palate into my GIMP, which after some Googling, I managed to do. I got another unexpected result: a black shirt with lots of pink. The pink was a good sign and I think this actually looks pretty cool, but where did the black and gray come from? Aurora is freaking out about these surprise colors on her clothes.
Another suggestion I got from Amanda was to take a photo in Petz, save it as a .bmp file, open that file in GIMP, and then open the texture I wanted on top of it. This way, the new image would be already indexed and in the Petz colors. But alas! The curse of changing colors struck again! This is another one where it looks pretty darn cool but still doesn't have that elusive pink.
I was close to just giving up on this whole debacle, but I made one final plea in the hexing channel. Prism Mirror Lens offered to take a look at the file for me, then sent me back a new one. I popped it in, and...
PINK!!! Glorious, glorious pink at last!!! How did this hexing hero fix my problem? By opening it in Paint, saving it, and sending it back. I guess my program was just being weird?? I still have no clue what was going on with this texture, but I'm thrilled that it finally worked in the end. Thank you so much for all the people who helped me! Now Aurora and Harlequin have cool tropical outfits perfect for Team Flamingo!
