I know we did this last year, would anyone be interested in this sort of activity for this year? I know joint-hexing is usually really fun and this might be something to host for like late July/ early August?
I'm usually not good at hosting these sorts of things, but I was thinking it would just be a fun little non-competitive activity so people don't have to feel left out or like they "can't do it good so I don't wanna ruin it for the team" feelings.
I would be curious, if this was hosted, what are the typical rules, time frame, etc? Anyone wanna give me a good idea of what to set?
Also.... is joint-breeding a thing or like breeding activities? (I'm not a good breeder either)
Thanks as always for any input :)

I honestly haven't been around the community to know how it's usually done but it could be really fun! I don't have any experience hexing pets but this sounds like a chill way to experiment with it.
I don't know if joint-breeding is a thing but that could be really neat! Maybe people could pick one of their pets that would then get matched with someone else's... except people wouldn't know what they chose. Kind of like a blind date. Or maybe people could post a pet of theirs they'd like to breed and other people could answer with pets of their own that could be a good match. I think this could lead to some interesting results and it would be a neat way to diversify your gene pools!

I'd be up for joint hexing a breedfile (avoids issues with version and means we can all adopt from it at the end!) that maybe then can be put up for download and commemorate SumOly 2021... Plus perhaps the people who hexed it can be free to take it and continue with it to put their own spin on at the end too.
I don't know how it's normally done but I think it would be funny to have it so the file gets passed around and everyone adopts a pet from 'their' version of it so in the end we all have some unique pets that show every step of the way and we keep these hidden until the final reveal!
I think time frame might need to be based on how many people sign up. I'd be fine to hex within a very short time frame - like give me 2 days lol - but I know some people will want longer than that. Maybe each person could get 5 days but if you finish earlier, you can pass it along early. You'd probably also want to have more than one hex going if there are a lot of people so no one's work gets lost and everyone matters. 3-4 people is probably a better number for a single hex and then it also can't take more than a month to finish.
I'd suggest a loose theme such as summer or seaside or even just 'sumoly'?... And then we can do whatever we want! But I think of it like a hexing game of telephone where you know what you start with but have no clue what it's going to look like by the end! You can do as much or as little as you like... Elaborate addballz or just some painting.
I'd suggest any OB as the starting point (and maybe this can be kept secret) but an uncomplicated cat is probably best so that any people new to hexing can feel a bit more comfortable joining in. Or there can be a choice of a dog or cat starting point and let people sign up to one or the other depending on how comfortable they are.
