Hello everyone! Some of you will know me from RKC and Whiskerwick, and I finally decided to take the plunge and create an account here! Looking forward to getting a feel for this place and participating with a few of my favourite petz!
Username: Zan
Prefix: Zan'sPetz Version: P4
Do you have a website?: No (maybe one day...)
What brought you to Duke's Group?: Well, if you know me from other forums, you'll be aware that I have a lot of petz and a large show team, so for a long time I wasn't sure Duke's Group would be the right fit for me. But recently I started participating in more activity/fun type shows, which got me playing with my petz more and bringing back a few of my old favourites who had retired from regular shows, and I realised that, although it won't work to play this way with my entire crew, it's been really enjoyable to get back to the basics of the game and enjoy spending more time just playing, really. I'm hoping that being a member here will bring a bit more focus to those elements of gameplay for me.
Do you have any real life petz? (Feel free to show pics!): Not currently. I'm renting, though we might ask for permission to keep a pet once we've been here a bit longer.
Anything else you'd like to tell us about yourself?: Sure, why not? I'm in my mid 30s and after a long time of inactivity I came back to the petz community a little over a year ago. The nostalgia was strong and the game and participating in the online community gave me a lot of comfort and stress relief during quite a turbulent time, and it's remained a strong interest since, so, I think I'm here to stay. Outside petz I enjoy being outside a lot - I enjoy walking, scrambling, wild swimming, climbing etc. Last year I moved with my boyfriend to be closer to the mountains, and since living on the edge of a farm I can safely say I'll never move back to a city again.
Pics of your favorite petz and/or petz you hope to participate with here: So to start of with I'm keeping things simple and I'll be participating here primarily with three petz! (I do have others I'm showing/training for activities etc, so you may see them from time to time, but I'm focusing on the petz I'll be playing with most often.)
This is Zorza, aka the moment I realised catz are awesome, and probably the main reason I'm here. I was always more into dogz, especially showing, and so didn't really play with catz that much, until I randomly bred a couple and Zorza was the kitten who popped out! I really like her markings but she's also just so fun to play with? She's got such a nice, positive attitude and always wants to be involved in everything. Unsurprisingly, she turned out to be a perfect pet to take part in activity shows with. She's already reached SGCh. in pose shows with 45 points currently, but I think I'll show her here for a little while longer and see if we can rack up some more titles!
I've also participated in Mousing shows with her. I'm biased, but I think she's a natural at this game, giving me plenty of pics to choose from and enjoying herself all the time. So far, she has 16 Mousing show points. We haven't started her trick training yet but that will come in time! I feel confident she'll grasp it quickly.
This handsome beast is Tamarind! (I love frisbee blooper pics, lol).
He's had a successful show career and is now coming back out of retirement as he's one of my favourite tamsins that I've bred myself. He may have the looks, but (like most of my dalis, tbh) he doesn't seem to have much in the way of brains. But that's okay, he loves to have a go anyway. Frisbee training has been...hard. It takes him a long time to have a go and even then he often doesn't manage to catch it. But that's okay, I know he's trying his best and I make sure to reward him anyway. He's the sort of pet that enjoys simple pleasures - eating, sleeping and getting scritches.
And last but not least, this is Spruce, one of my favourite dogz ever! He was bred by Salem, I can't remember if I got him from TFM or PUGS but I fell in love with him instantly, while I think he's still ambivalent about me/everyone else, really.
He has a poodle personality and is also a trotter so that looks hilarious (if you've never seen it I'll try and get pics or make a gif or something). He has two moods, angry or apathetic. I've never seen a dog go after mice so slowly, and when he catches them he usually looks like he's lost interest straight away and mostly just lets them go.
Spruce retired as a SGCh. a while back, but recently I unretired him and he's gathered a few more points (which I need to add to his total, actually). I'm hoping there are some poodle-friendly shows here, and other than that, in time I'll hope to convince him to participate in all the other activities that DG has to offer. Just don't expect him to look excited about it, lol.
