username: joni prefix: freefall's petz version: 4 do you have a website?: i am about to sound repetitive, but i'm working on getting freefall back up and running very soon. what brought you to duke's group?: i own way too many petz and i can't stop myself from adopting every cute pet i see. i don't even think about it anymore, to be fair. i want to reconnect to the game and to my petz. do you have any real life petz? i dooo. my bf and i adopted a five-year-old tabby cat a couple of months ago. his name is flaubert and he has one adorable floppy ear because he got into a nasty fight before he was found. i love him dearly, more than i've ever loved anything tbh. anything else you'd like to tell us about yourself?: i am very much a lurker and i find it difficult to reach out to people or to be very talkative on forums or discord. doesn't mean i'm not nice or don't want to talk to anyone, haha. i'm just very shy, but i love everyone in the pc and i'm saying hi to all of you in my mind.
pics of your favorite petz and/or petz you hope to participate with here: here comes my first obstacle. i have so so so so SO many petz and so many favourites, i have no idea who to choose to play with on this forum. how do you guys make that decision?
anyway, i am so excited to be here again and to see all of you have a whale of a time raising petz naturally. <3

Joni welcome :D
I also feel you with the struggle-- I don't have a website yet and I am a broken record of "I will make a website!" .. .... ... one day! I find it hard to sit down and take time to design it-- but I have a little project in mind for myself to learn one of those new "modern css frameworks" /dread it looks awful. But also Petz is old school so I could just do the old fashioned HTML/CSS (I refuse to use iFrames 😆)
When I first joined the community in 2017 (yeah really late to the party), I felt really shy because there was so much history and terminology and showing (I tried to join PKC hahaha!) and hexing/breeding that I didn't really know how to connect with people. Discord, for me personally, has helped a lot. It started off with just a group DM with several friends (who I met on Duke's Group) who helped me a ton getting settled in the community (it was easier to ask questions on "does this pose look good?" and drag-drop an image of <shows the most awkward aligned cat with no tail curve-- is it even posing?> and get instant feedback).
I don't do well in super large Discord chats and got to know a few people at once which helped a lot. I'll add you as a friend on Discord if you ever want to chat :)
All of this to avoid the elephant in the room question of who to pick to naturally raise haha-- it's honestly an incredibly personal choice. But one thing I like to do is write out all the petz I want to naturally raise and then realize "I can't raise 156 petz each game day". I know gyiyg will pick one or two to raise at a time (I guess keeping the others frozen in time until it's their turn). I want to try this technique but alternating between one or pair every week. I'm not gonna lie to myself, my life is too busy to raise more than 2 petz at once right now... so I am gonna be realistic and stick with that.

welcome!
yeah, usually what i do is keep a little queue folder full of the petz i've gotten from various places, and then i take out 1-3 at once to raise and document that while i'm raising them, and then once one of those petz is fully grown, i'll take out another to raise and start documenting that one. it helps with keeping things from getting too overwhelming while still allowing for raising all the petz i want to. if i ever run out of petz in queue to raise, i usually just spend a few days playing with some of the fully grown petz i don't showcase as much along with damien who i feature in every update because he's my favorite to play with, haha.

Welcome to DG I'm also not talkative on here tbh, I mostly just do the admin side and then I'm back to discord. All my kept petz are naturally raised, so I don't have any problem choosing, and it's very easy to resist more when you know that's an additional dog to look after most days a week
