This is a team-building activity that doesn't count points towards SumOly, but only SumOly team members can participate!
Teams will help design a hunt for Petzy items across their websites. Giving a "list of hints" to the opposing teams, everyone will try to find the Petzy items and the team that finds the most (correct) and the quickest, will be the winners! (Again, just bragging rights for this event)
Stages for This Event
Designing the Hunt - dueJuly 18th July 22nd July 25th
Using whatever collaborative method you and your team has decided, your team will come up with at least 6 items/clues/hints found across your team's websites. The other teams will try to solve the puzzles/find the items/etc. Be creative, but reasonable. You can modify your website to make something specific to find for this. You are able to do what you want with this theme from a 6 part story mystery puzzle to a Petzy Find-it. Feel free to come up with more than 6 items if your team thinks it is appropriate. On July 18th, your temp rep will reply to this thread with instructions (including what websites the clues/puzzles to solve/etc are found on).
The Hunt - dueAug 1st Aug 6th (to give everyone some more time)
On July 18th, all the teams should have posted their instructions of things for you to find! All the opposing teams get to discuss and figure out possible solutions to the clues. Feel free to use the same system of communication you used. Once you've think you've found the answers to the clues, send your answers privately to representative/contact of the Team. The contact/representative of the team can feel free to "grade" or let them know how they did. If they want to let them fix their mistakes, and/or give extra hints, that's entirely up to you.
Please don't post answers until afterAugust 1st August 10th to make sure everyone has had a chance before we share all the things we found!
FAQ
Q: What if I don't have a website :( can I participate?
A: Yes! You can help your team come up with things to find.
Q: What "items" are people supposed to find?
A: It could be anything-- a pet on your crew, a download, a stamp, an image. Honestly, feel free to get creative! If you want to make a giant rhyme that the other team has to solve, go for it!
