Welcome to the gameplay journal for Tympanic's Team Dolphin! Here's where I'll be keeping track of all our fun daily activities.
Edit: Alas, the Summer Olympics are nearing their end, and I will have to leave this looking rather sparse. Thanks to everyone who followed along with the Tympanic crew here! Hopefully we'll have more to share with you sometime!
Number of tasks completed: 4
1. Introduce your pet (See below!) 2. Hermit crab3. Dance or sing?4. Getting a reward 5. Thirsty 6. Beach ball 7. Ocean wave 8. Boomerang 9. Meet another pet 10. Mice 11. Collection from the sea12. Dress up 13. Favorite toy 14. Camping 15. Coolest trick 16. Gardening 17. Favorite camera pose 18. Favorite game 19. Paint bucket challenge 20. Sleeping All right, let's get started! 1. Introduce your pet This is Jubilee, from gyiyg ! Her name is Jubilee for a few reasons, the first being that she is constantly doing these happy little hops: Second, I am a total geek, which means that sharing a name with a character from X-Men is fabulous. And third, Jubilee and all of her siblings had names starting with J when they were being adopted out, so her new name stays within that theme! This is Ben, from neurohound/Emil @ Skyline! He was a leftover from neurohound/Emil's Shollie breeding project. He spontaneously decided to do a "handstand" during his intro photo shoot! I'm hoping that's a good sign for my future attempts to teach him some tricks. And last but not least, this is Skitter, from Shromp! He's a mix of Carolyn's Fancy Ratz breed and Shromp's worm OW breed. Shromp was kind enough to let me adopt Skitter and several of his relatives when I mentioned liking her rat/worm hybrids on Petzcord. And that's the Tympanic team for the Summer Olympics! Look forward to more of their escapades soon!

11. Collection from the sea
Well, I intended to do the prompts in order, so today Jubilee and I set off for the beach to find a hermit crab! ...Who, as it happened, was nowhere to be found. As we waited to see if one would show up, though, we found a lot of other fun things!
First, a piece of driftwood washed up.
Then a shell and a fish bone appeared in quick succession.
Jubilee seemed to like the fish bone the best out of our tidal treasures. She barely put it down after discovering it; not even a belly rub could take priority (although it was certainly appreciated)!
Of course, we had to show off our whole collection before heading home. Jubilee, naturally, was still hanging on to the fish bone. What a haul for my silly girl!
That's all for now. See you next time!

2. Hermit crab (?)
Having been snubbed by the hermit crab in our previous attempt, Jubilee and I returned to the beach today hoping to have slightly better luck. And there it was, sitting amongst the toys we had collected last time, a hermit crab shell! I immediately brought it over to Jubilee for her to inspect...
...Only to discover that she, apparently, had not shared my hermit crab hopes at all, and had no interest in it whatsoever.
She was much more excited about the driftwood she had discovered on our last adventure.
And her favorite shell, which she carried around while playing with the beach ball.
And cloud-gazing (still with the shell toy in tow).
And a second fish bone which the tide helpfully brought in to offer further distraction.
Basically, anything except the hermit crab was on the menu for fun today. Here's just a bit of proof that the hermit crab was present (and remarkably tolerant of my repeated efforts to get Jubilee to acknowledge it). I guess Jubilee is against hermit crab harassment? To be fair, the hermit crab did pop out of its shell twice, and Jubilee appeared to notice it once with some concern (which I failed to capture despite my best key-smashing efforts)...but she promptly went back to cloud-gazing, so clearly it wasn't all that important in her mind.
Oh well, the whole trip did end up making me laugh. Hopefully you found it entertaining too! We'll see you next time!

3. Dance or sing?
Eek, it's been a while! With life being rather busy at the moment, I decided to have some nice relaxing fun with Jubilee and bring out the music box.
At first, she seemed curious or even enthused about the new gadget. Then I opened the music box, and, well...
She immediately threw herself on the ground and appeared to have a brief temper tantrum. I feared for a moment that the success of this task would go the way of our hermit crab fiasco.
I quickly changed the song playing on the music box, and Jubilee seemed to calm down. She seemed to accept the strange new toy, and even began using it in her favorite game (namely, the "drop it, pick it up" game on the family room chair and fireplace). Still not exactly a dance party, but hey, at least she was happy. I tried a few more times, albeit hesitantly after her first reaction, to switch the song being played, but she didn't seem to take notice.
Then all of a sudden, aha! Jubilee found her groove, and started dancing in circles.
Unfortunately, being a dignified grown-up kitty now, Jubilee did not appreciate me snapping such a candid shot, and promptly stopped any behavior which might implicate her in silliness.
...Except sliding across the floor with the music box, which was perfectly acceptable.
Not so dignified after all, I guess. I'm glad she hasn't lost her funny bone, so to speak.
And of course, she is still as cute as a button. See you next time!
