Username: Keyglyph Prefix: WPR Petz Version: 4 What brought you to Duke's Group?: I've been aware of the forum for years, and it always seemed like it'd be such an awesome place for me since 99% of my engagement with the game is through naturally raising. But truth be told, I was always nervous about the playdate requirements! I knew if I joined there'd be no guarantee I could participate in events, which not only seemed rude, but also against the forum rules. ECRose recently had a conversation with me about how chill and positive this place is, however, and I've also been inspired to get back to my original crew lately... so I'm going to give it a try. As long as I can keep myself from feeling regularly obligated to post or manage events, I'll be able to take it at my usual snail's pace and share what I've been enjoying! Do you have any real life petz? (Feel free to show pics!): My partner and I have two cats, a bonded pair of rescued siblings whom we adopted just about two years ago. Big Big (given name: Morris) and Little One AKA Trouble (given name: Amber) are tabbies of immense personality. Morris is a sweet gray doof who was reportedly not a lap cat, but was clearly just never comfortable enough with any of his previous owners to unleash his full cuddle powers. Amber is a dilute torby, an intrepid explorer, and very naughty, but she gets away with it by being so cute.
Anything else you'd like to tell us about yourself?: I've been playing Dogz 4 since I was fifteen, way back in 2001. For twenty years, every single pup in my game was either a descendant of my original couple or a single I'd adopted online to marry into the family. Here's the current chart:
Pics of your favorite petz and/or petz you hope to participate with here:
Right now, these two below are expecting a puppy any day. Any. DAY. (We may be dealing with a stuck pregnancy, actually. Stay tuned!) Shelter is one of my fifth-generation pups, and Fluffy is one of RogueRowan's selectively bred Spaniels. Please, just look at how perfect and brilliant that dog is:
I'm thrilled to be expanding my line into its sixth generation, and Fluffy is bringing in our first poodle genes, too! I can't wait to see what the puppies will look like. I'll be focusing on growing this family and taking them on adventures, raising maybe three or so siblings together in much the same way that I used to do with my dogz families in high school.
I will also say that I loved RogueRowan's selective spaniel breed so much that I adopted two more around the same time as Fluffy. I have plans to match Kaolin up elsewhere in my OG line eventually -- that will probably be my next focus after this one -- but for the time being, they'll be the extended family jumping in to cameo from time to time, helping out with their niephlings when they're born.

Welcome to the group! Don't worry about obligations, it's very quiet and slow round here anyway nowadays cos most of us are adults and don't have as much time for petz any more. Anything you can post and host is good! I am very impressed by that family tree, that is mental. I also love the variety in the petz, I like seeing a good mixie or two (since I mostly keep PBs I can live vicariously through others).

Hello and welcome to Duke's Group, Keyglyph Like Anthracite said, it is pretty slow around here most of the time so I wouldn't worry about having to participate in events and playdates if you're too busy or not inspired. I think most of us including myself go through phases where we're into Petz for a while, and then we take a break for a few months or a year, and then we come right back to it, so don't feel bad Also, I love your family tree <3 There are so many cuties in your family I have my own Dogz family tree with 6 generations going back to 2018, but that's not long compared to your legendary pedigree. You can see it over here

Thanks Anthracite ! And yeah, being an adult and not having as much time for Petz is dumb. You ever think about what kinds of amazing stuff the community is going to crank out when we all start hitting retirement?
That's really interesting that you keep to purebreds. Of different breeds, or mainly just a few specific ones? UPDATE: Nevermind, saw your crew link, muahahaha~
And ✬MsWildiful✬ , not only did I check out your family tree... but I read all of your crew sites. I absolutely love reading people's in-depth reflections on their petz, and yours were delightful. T___T I'm going to have to read through your magnum opus thread, Quail's Legacy, too!

I even have my family tree framed on the wall in my room IRL <3 I look forward to learning more about your dogz lore I think the Spaniels are really cute and I like that selective breed too.

Hello and welcome to the group! I'm super glad to see you here :)
I've said this before on RKC forums but I absolutely love your family tree pix! Also that's wild that you've had this lovely line going since about 2001!
Also, we need to write down/fix these obligations 😅 I keep saying this but then we don't actually talk as admin about it-- I think I'll make a staff post about it finally and see if we can re-write the rules to seem less intimidating because we're honestly all just about fun and playing.
(and I'm finally on a two month vacation starting next Monday!! So I think I'll get to Petz again! woo!)
I can't wait to see Kaolin and Crosshatch grow up <3

Welcome to the group Keyglyph! I love everything about your petz and your website! Super cool and I love how much detail and work you've put into all of it! Your Snowshoe Scotties are adorable <3
As others have said, holding contests, playgroups...etc.. is no longer required. I've updated the rules so it says encouraged instead of expected. We all have busy lives and it's a-okay if you can't participate or be around here and there!
We're happy to have you join us and look forward to seeing you around!
