hi everyone! this is where im gonna post updates on my journey of naturally rearing all the petz in my crew! my strategy is just to raise 3-4 petz at a time, as i wouldnt want any petz actively in my game to feel neglected or like they arent getting enough attention. that means if you have seen pics of my other crew petz, or perhaps ive adopted a pet of yours, and youre wondering where they are, dont worry! i will get to them <3 but for now, my first set of pets are all 1st gen, with some fun critters waiting in my crew file to be grown up next, and who knows how the story will progress? welp... only one way to find out! journal entry #1 (cross posted from whiskerwick) to sum up whats happened so far...
first, lets introduce the petz in play for the time being!
first we have our young dalmatian couple, petal and stone! both adopted 7/22/2023, petal in the pink collar and stone in grey. this picture was taken the first day they were adopted together <3
and then... we have scruffy, the maine coon. named and picked out by my beloved partner, hes kind of been the trouble maker and chaos incarnate of the group. he was adopted the day after the pups on 7/23. hes a weirdo, but we love him. he was chosen by my partner for the way he viciously and bravely fought the bone in the adoption center.
the first couple of days were interesting. there was a lot of tension and awkwardness between the pups and the cat at first! the pups were curious and honestly a bit too pushy with scruffy, while scruffy just wanted to kinda be in his own world, and it honestly seemed like it might not work for a while with both "sides" seeming to mutually distrust the other. there was some rough patches with a lot of squirt bottle action involved.
but, fast forward to today, things are going a lot better! everyone has learned that we can all, in fact, get along and occupy our own spaces! amazing! scruffy tends to enjoy lounging up high on the shelves or the fence and watch down judgementally as the puppies play. but best of all, they sometimes get along and all play together! the secret to harmony has been in front of us this whole time.... balls! no seriously! they are all obsessed with the auto rolling balls. the 3 of them could team up and chase that thing around for forever. its adorable. there is peace in having a common enemy to bully, i guess. dont get me wrong though, the odd fight does break out every now and then, but its understandable... we cant all get along 24/7!
and thats gonna be it for todays update i think. as i write this entry, everyone is age 27 on the brainsliders or just a couple days old real time, still babies but they are all learning and showing so much personality so fast!! its so fun watching their individual lil quirks pop up over time, learning everyones favorite foods and toys, and watching how the three of them bond and grow and learn together over time. see you guys again soon, and thanks for reading up to this point!

journal entry #2 good afternoon! heres whats up: everyones still age 27 on the slider. the trio are all in pretty good spirits today! still having fun torturing the ball as a team, as is their right.
for some reason, everyones neglect has stayed hovering in the 20-30 zone but never really going down. i confess i have knocked it down a couple points last night to globally be at 20, because i just cant figure out how to bring it down naturally! i play with them all, pet them all and feed them all multiple times a day and have not had to squirt anyone for quite a while now, so i dont think thats the problem... but alas. i am staying persistent and trying not to mess with the brainsliders or petza unless absolutely necessary or for my external breeding projects and files! im starting to worry because we have had a few bouts of sickness, especially with poor scruffy. any ideas for bringing down neglect other than lots of petting and food?
aside from that nonsense, things are good. they may be growing slowly in their size but im so proud of how fast all of them are learning to get along and how well they all are eating! they all have their preferences for favorite foods and will always scarf down a bowl of their favs given the chance. im trying to fatten them up as well since theyre all on the skinny side. i know their favorite foods, but now i gotta investigate what their favorite treats might be, maybe do some trick training?
oh yeah, and besides the rolling ball, all 3 of them love their stuffies. we have so many of them around the house now.... so. many. but its worth it to make the lil guys happy and comfy!

journal entry #3just as i thought to myself 'wow, everyones getting along so well!' ...... scruffy: you sure about that? those two can be so mean to poor scruffy. but at least he keeps his chin up at the end of the day. speaking of staying positive, heres a fun update; i set up the play pen for these lil scamps! i have noticed everyone gets along better in this set up, and its also great for leaving in the background to let them play while i do other stuff. i make sure everyones favorite food and toys are out, and then some more on top of that, some blankets and pillows, and anything else they might like or need. it keeps everyone preoccupied, doing something they like, and relatively well fed, though i still have to supplement with occasional solo, uninterrupted feeding times. plus, its just fun to set up cute spaces and rooms in this game. just one of those little things for me. and finally, i spent some time seeing what treats everyone liked. everyone loves the steak as well as the candy hearts and gobbles them up like champs, which has been the key to getting everyone to a healthy weight again! yay! well... except petal, i may or may not have accidentally given her a few too many when i left her unattended with a huge pile of treats which i meant to split between all three of them, but then i got distracted and... well :x shes still beautiful anyways lol. also, they all love frisbee and the beach, and petal + stone are naturals at catching it! maybe showing is in their future? thats all for today i think. ending today at 27 bsa (i just made that up its short for brainslider age cuz frick typing that out every time) and 21 global neglect ( ) lets hope tomorrow is a good day for everyone! good night!

journal entry #4 so, something important i should probably note about how i play, is that a lot of my petz days start right when my computer clock rolls over to midnight. i have a pretty whacked up sleep schedule at the moment, so if the days/progression of time and age seem split weirdly, now yall know why!
last night things got uh.... kinda weird. things started normal, everyone was in a good mood, but... lets just say i think petal and stone were feeling a lil TOO good...
WHAT? you guys JUST turned into "adults" who still look and sound like puppies most of the time and this is yalls first idea? welp. i knew this would happen eventually, just not this fast! guess we're gonna be raising 4 petz this round. as if things werent already chaotic enough!! we might even have to get one of them fixed since i dont know how many petz i can handle raising at once!
stone doing the infamous walk of shame after the deed has been done, petal looking... pensive? idk what that look means...
aaaanyways.... after that, things went back to being chill and normal. some of last night and this morning, we've been practicing our show abilities, mostly stacking poses, and a lil bit of jumping through hoops, and some frisbee just for fun. all 3 love the hoop and the frisbee, so i have been doing that every now and then as part of everyones daily routine. gotta stay fit!
we even did some dress up in some fancy looking show collars + leads. looking classy guys! stone was wearing silver, petal in gold.
the dogs are even getting good at catching the disc! scruffy was not impressed though.
after all the training though, everyone got tired. good work everyone, thats enough for now! time to wind down with some play and bonding time.
and thats about where im at for now folks. lots of playing, petting, brushing, and feeding in store for today, still trying desperately to naturally lower that stubborn neglect stat, which is unfortunately at 22 at this point :{ bsa is 33, everyone is officially an "adult" by the games standards, but id say theyre more like teens. they certainly dont look fully grown to me!
andddd as im finishing typing this up, i hear all my pets getting catnipped out of their gourds. teens will be teens i guess?! bye for now everyone!

journal entry #5 oops, sorry gang... i've been a lil distracted from my journaling here, but dont worry; my petz are still being taken care of daily, and everyone is actually doing great!!
first off: look at these two. just look at them. you would not have guessed at one point this cat and these dogs were at war just a few days ago. scruffy and petal especially have taken a liking to each other in the cutest way possible. ever since the puppy has arrived (more on that later) scruffy has been watching mom and puppy so closely, but staying calm and giving them their space. i was joking with my friends that he seems to be taking on the dad role stronger than stone. i have even seen scruffy and petal cuddling and making lovey eyes at each other! sometimes stone seems jealous and will glare and growl, other times hes just in his own world, probably chasing the ball or eating catnip.
seriously tho... stone loves his catnip.
when the puppy first came, petal seemed as unprepared and shocked as i was, her being born early because of an accident involving leaving the auto birth on after some off profile breeding stuff.
but, it only took a couple of days for things to start to return to normal. it helped when her baby was able to walk around by herself, leaving her a lot less defenseless and sad on the floor all the time. as previously mentioned, scruffy and stone have been great with lace too. it almost seems like a baby being born has brought everyone together in a way, solidifying everyones friendship. it takes a village to raise a puppy i suppose.
everything is going just amazing, i dont think i could have predicted just how well everyone would get along in the end, especially considering how much everyone fought at first! but all it took was some time and care to ensure everyone has the things they like, and the care to teach them when theyre not being nice to each other, just a little goes a long way! and the best news of all, global neglect has gone down significantly! globally its at just 9 points! im not sure what i did different to make it start going down but i am grateful it has. it almost seems like since the puppy has come everyone has started to feel truly happier, calmer and more peaceful. its so heart warming, i love these lil babies and cant wait to continue everyones story from here <3
ps: everyone loves the beach, we go there every day now to throw the frisbee and everyone chases it. even scruffy.
signing off for now!
