Dock diving is something I've always wanted to bring to the petz community and to Duke's Group! I've never figured out a good way to do it though, until now!
These trials will be run very similar to how they are in real life. If you'd like to read about how they work in real life, you can do so HERE.
We are only doing the Distance titles.
View our Dock Diving Dog registry and titles here: Duke's Group Dock Diving Dogs
Dogs will automatically be added to our spreadsheet / database when they enter their first show and after judging is complete!
Points / Qualifying jumps will be updated after every show.
Our petz trials will work like this;
You will need to post two task pictures, and two dice rolls for each one.
Task #1 - A picture of your dog running as fast as they can, eyes looking forward.
+ Two Dice Rolls
oR2DEfo4
Task #2 - A picture of your dog jumping left to right (A Trained jump with a treat, not a hoop or hexed jump, jump.)
+ Two Dice Rolls
You can find the dice option here:
You will need to click the dice for each dice roll.
Dice Roll 1 For Task #1 will be multiplied by Dice Roll 1 For Task #2 to get the total of how many feet your dog jumped.
Dice Roll 2 For Task #1 will be added to Dice Roll 2 For Task #2 to get the total of how many inches your dog jumped.
So the total for the example would be: 25 feet, 3 inches
Which means Beau jumped a total of 25 feet, 3 inches giving him a qualifying jump in the Elite division.
How to train your dog to jump:
In these shows, you are NOT competing against each other.
This is how Dock Diving titles work:
To gain a division title, dog must accumulate 5 qualifying jumps within one division.
A division would be; Novice, Junior, Senior, Master, Elite, or Premier.
Division Titles;
Novice (DN): 1 in - 9 ft 11 in
Junior (DJ): 10 ft - 14 ft 11 in
Senior (DS): 15 ft - 19 ft ll in
Master (DM): 20 ft - 23 ft 11 in
Elite (DE): 24 ft - 27 ft 11 in
Premier (DP): 28ft & above
In real life, there are separate divisions for lap sized dogs. Since we are only using one dice, it doesn't make sense for us to divide it in petz. All sized petz will be in the same divisions.
Once your pet has gained those titles, they become eligible for their Advanced (A) titles!
*Note: They don't have to gain ALL of those titles become eligible, there's an advanced option with each of those titles.
In order for your pet to gain their advanced title, they need an additional 25 qualifying jumps within a division. So on your petz 30th qualifying jump for a division, you can add an A on the end of their title.
Examples;
DNA
DJA
DSA
DMA
DEA
DPA
Once your pet has earned their advanced titles, they become eligible for their Excellent (X) titles. These work the same way as the Advanced title. Your pet just needs an additional 25 qualifying jumps in a division to earn it. So on your petz 55th qualifying jump in a division, they can add an (X) to the end of their title which will replace their (A).
Examples;
DNX
DJX
DSX
DMX
DEX
DPX
In real life, your dog could continue on to earn more excellent titles and you can read how that works in the RL link I linked above. I don't think anyone will want to go that far in petz, however, if you ARE interested and there is enough interest, please let me know and I can certainly make it possible here in petz too!
Please let me know if you have any questions or if anything isn't clear. I will be hosting trials often and others are encouraged to do the same!
