Meet the Team AllspiceThis crazy is from Hazy (and kathleen ). She's really adorable but also kind of weird at the same time. She likes to climb, hates clothes, and has way too much energy. Hot ChocolateHe's a mini B+W Shorthair with a Persian personality-- a Christmas gift from Koda , who got all of my favorite things down in one little package. Hot Chocolate is a little bit crazy as well (a common theme of my catz this season). He's moody, territorial, and needs tons of attention. RileyDaughter of Bentley II and recent addition to the Team Alpine team from Bunni . She loves to play and has tons of energy, but gets easily distracted with toyz, often needing to switch mid-game. She hates being ignored and needs tons of attention (another theme of my petz). CocoaLoveable and sweet, Cocoa is a Secret Santa gift from zan , who somehow took my vague post about what I want in gifts and bred this amazingly perfectly sweet dog. She's goofy, calm, and playful all in one tiny package. NibblesA special Christmas gift from Ratqueen -- Nibbles is a descendant of Ratqueen’s very first (and I mean very first) dog from Dogz I! He loves to play, hates water, and he trots. RolandECRose gifted me Roland for Christmas and once again, he’s perfect in every way almost as if my mind was read-- all these wonderful members of the community just know me so well, I’m so grateful for my friends here. Roland has permanent attitude in his face, but he’s a loveable friend who just wants to play (and also you have to do what he wants or else). Go Team Alpine!!

Introducing Team Member: NibblesContinuing from the short introduction of my team, I want to talk about a very special new addition to my family: Nibbles! He was an unexpected and lovely Christmas gift from Ratqueen ! Here's his story--
The Origin of Nibbles(written by Ratqueen )It all started in 1996, as Bytes took his first careful steps out of Dogz 1 and onto the Windows 95 desktop. He had a whole 8 MB of RAM to roam around freely, but it was kind of lonely. Stamp from RQ's PUGs shop First Petz Duo: Dog Bytes (1996) Stamp 1/2 in First Petz Duo Series, RKC 2021. Made with actual screenshot of my very first dog from Petz 1, Bytes, adopted in 1996, on a Windows 95 default teal background.Bytes was reborn as a Great Dane in 1997, when he had to undergo a scary operation they called a "conversion". Petz 2, and then Petz 3 awaited with promises of friendship and love he had only been able to dream about so far, so he didn't hesitate. Indeed, it wasn't long until he found love with a first-gen Sheepdog hottie, followed by the birth of their first son, named Megabytes in honor of his dad. The proud Dane face would hereby be known as the Bytes family trademark for generations to come! Megabytes had a happy childhood in Petz 3, growing up with lots of local friends and playing with all kinds of new exciting toys. He later moved to Petz 5, where he met his first of many loves, a Dane mixie named Sterling. Their first born, Octet, turned out to be a true mixie, looking a bit like everybody in the family. Octet, who was born in Petz 5 in 2003, decided to up the antes by learning how to pose. Entering his first show in the Spring of 2003, he earned his SGCh title in less than 2 months, before even his own father knew that shows were a thing! Octet, who was all for breaking family traditions, went out into the wide wide world without thinking twice, meeting and falling for a fancy Papillon mixie named Lala, who barked with a heavy French accent. Crumpet was the pick of the litter when she was born in 2006, with strong Dane & Sheepdog looks, but also her mother's delicate Papillon features. Following her illustrious parents' footsteps, she entered the show ring with confidence, earning her SGCh title in a record 2-weeks time! She went on to become one of RKC's most cherished breeders, encountering many suitors from all over the world. SGCh. RKC's Plump Sweetness Crumpet From Out of Retirement Show 2017: Picked her because she's the great-granddaughter of the first dog I adopted in Petz 1, so she's very special to me! Also, she earned her SGCh title in September 2006, so that would be exactly 11 years ago this month :)
In 2021, still feeling in her prime at the ripe old age of 15, Crumpet met her latest love, a Dachshund mixie they called Mariposo, on that dating site named PUGs. Intrigued by his German origins and Italian nickname, she found him very charming indeed! His looks didn't hurt either -- no Geralt of Rivia, but hey, he was quite a looker nonetheless! Little Nibbles was the fruit born of their passion. He may have a smaller bite than his great-great-granddad Bytes, but there is no mistaking his famous ancestry, as the Great Dane face and pudgy body run in his family. Growing up in an international household, he may surprise you with his linguistic talents, barking such things as "woof la la", "bellissimoof", or "achtoof" without even thinking about it. Nibbles is now old enough to leave the nest. He couldn't be more excited to go to Thor's fabled estate, in the far-far land of California, and as a Christmas present no less! He heard she was so very nice, and may even bake him home-made pizza if he gives her puppy eyes!
Mariposo, Nibbles' dad, was bred by Penny @ Just Dandy ! Mr. Moo is Nibbles' great grandfather!! This was such an awesome gift! I will treasure little Nibbles. <3 Thank you!

Wow. I loved this recent post, it was really fun to read and it's awesome to me when petz have whole backstories like this. Was "Brown Dog" an actual breed that existed for P1?

Aww thanks for the kind words :) Was "Brown Dog" an actual breed that existed for P1? :O I'm not sure-- we'd have to ask Ratqueen or others who used the original Petz 1!

I don't think there were breed names in Dogz 1 though? I don't know, but I think it MAY have been referred to as "brown dog", haha. Gonna have to look this up, now I'm curious!

Introducing Team Member: RolandThis lovely dog with constant "bad mood" face was a Christmas gift from ECRose and is one of my favorite new additions to the fam. Roland's mother, Polly, is a downloadable adoption from Anso's site, she was born in 1999. Also available to download fro Anso's site are Polly's parents-- Bing and Annie. All this information along with cute photos is detailed be ECRose on their thread: dj7.proboards.com/post/80388/threadThe exciting news is that Roland is partially related to the famous Ralph of Mythic Silence! Annie is Ralph's mom making Polly his half-sister. Roland's dad, Simon, is one of Ralph's friends. So Ralph is Roland's fun uncle 😁 I am excited to own a little bit of history here <3 Thank you for this wonderful gift!

These are such thoughtful posts! I am very flattered that you made one for Roland. ^_^
I wish I still had a few of my original petz 1 petz. I had the scottie, of course, but "Bootz" was always a tempting one to adopt too. Anyhoo, I love the portrait of the Bytes family!

I'm in love with both Nibbles and Roland! Petz with such history!!!
(and to answer the Dogz 1 question, I played with it a bit a few months ago thanks to Asiyd's dosbox version! Byte would have been a Bootz, it looks like that's what the Great Dane predecessor was called- )
