Unlike parents of most toddlers, who need to have eyes in the back of their heads to stop their littles from being too curious for their own good, Malika and Bains had problems getting their oldest son interested in anything.
Malika: Look, Rory! It's the back yard! This is where we have fun.
Rory: Zzzzzzzzokayzzzzzzzz.
Baines: You don't like the beach?
Rory: It's okay.
Malika: This is Mad Mouse Hill, where we chase the crazy mutant mice.
Rory: Okay.
Rory just wanted to sleep, or to sit and stare into space.
The Caliby family, on the other hand, had a very energetic group of five kittens to manage.
Savanna was v grump.
Buster wasn't sure she liked the boring, traditional snowman.
I think they had a great time.
All the parenting wore the parents right out.
Tabby and Stuart sang a duet.
Rubber duck hunting season was on.
Aw, it looks like Tamara and Tabbie like each other now.
Back home, Pooh wasted not a second in getting comfortable.
Pooh: Zzzzzzzzz warm. Not like snowzzzzzz.
Buster: This game is called "Teaching Hedwig to fly."
Tamara: Mom, no! She can't!
Pooh: And this is the poor unicorn who fell of a tall mountain.
The kittens weren't ready to nap yet, but it was time for another group to have playtime.
Jamie: Grr.
Whitney: Wow, he really is a lot like Charlie.
Cora: And that other one isn't any better.
Cora's grown so large, she's almost caught up with Whitney.
Watson and the two adult Oshies handled responsibility in the usual way.
Whitney and Cora practiced looking strict.
Then they attempted waking up the others for a shift.
Key word being attempted.
Watson: Guess it's just me, then.
Alexie: I'm not scared of you.
Finally it was the adults' turn to have free time. (Not that they work, but you know.)
Tobie seemed to suddenly show some interest in Moxie.
But Jaxon is the only boy for her. I think?
Tobie played snowball toss with Trinnie instead.
There was a disagreement.
Tobie showed off on the sled.
Moxie's all grown. She's from a different breedfile than Jaxon. Her bodylength is slightly shorter, but she's got stockier limbs. I'm curious to see their puppies, because they're the next pair of dogz to start a family.
Before that, we'll have a litter of kittens, though. It's about time the catz got to familize a bit. Yes, it's a word.
I think Trinnie has a problem with Jaxon, actually.
But fun was had and the dogs exercised. Time to return our attensh to the young.
At the beach, Rory was finally awake and aware enough to sniff around a little. I think his dad was actually a bit surprised.
Autoballs were not interesting to him in the least.
The parents had more fun with the toys than the kid. Hashtag Millennials with children. (Thankfully, not true for any of my friends kids.)
Next day they went back to the beach. Rory chilled in the shade.
Malika: Are you feeling okay, sweetie?
Rory: It's hot. B(
Malika: Actually, it is. Oooooh, cool sand! <3
Baines: Wanna play frisbee?
Rory: No, I'm waiting for the crab to come out of the shell.
Baines: That shell is empty. Come play with Dad?
Rory: I'm waiting for a crab to move in.
Rory: Dad, what's this?
Baines: That's a stick.
Rory: What does it do?
Baines: You have fun with it.
Rory: Dad, what is "fun?"
Baines: There, not hot anymore. Happy now?
Rory: I'm exhausted!
Mom and Dad ran around in the snow a bit, to keep warm. Rory watched the skies, waiting for the stars to come out.
Baines: Snowballs. Kids love snowballs!
Rory: This smells funny. Maybe the Guinea-Pig wants it.
Baines: Maybe you need other children to play with.
Rory: Children? What is children, Dad?
Rory: Dad, I'm worried about you.
So yeah. It was definitely time Rory had siblings. I used Petza to grow him up enough to separate, and then aged him back to where he'd been. (Age 6, I think.) Malika and Baines got some quality time together, but since no pop-up happened, I cheated a bit.
SCORE: A full litter of four, with twins! We already have a colour mutation, because they're pure grey, not the blue colour of Baines' coat.
The girls is named as "Hallie" here, but her name is actually Skye. (Named after the island, not a TV character.) She's mostly Dane, apart from her ears and legs. Greyson (who literally is a grey son) and Finn the Twin are all Dalmatian apart from their pricked ears. Blake, who's Malika's favourite of the litter, is very similar to Rory. He's got the Dane legs, but the rest of him seems to be Dali.
Tune back in soonishly to see baby pics! And to find out if Rory ever becomes a normal child.
