Puppy Protégés!
We have two new puppies in the Tavern! Each pup will be mentored by Elderflower & Tasty with the aim of attempting to gain their Good Pet Citizen titles over on WW! First, here is Sodapup Tizer! Did you recognise him? He's the puppy in the header & footer of the Brewery! He's been a quiet mascot for as long as the site has been up (a couple of years now!?!) and I'm excited to finally give him some proper play time (Tizer was lost in files of files for a while, but now he's here!). Barnaby is an 8th gen Dalmatian bred by nebula ☃️ @ Poppyhill! His parents are Nebula's champs Yuki x Inigo. I received him via trade and he was the first pup in the litter to catch my eye:  (Barnaby graphic by Nebula) How cute is his adoption pic! I loved his striking blue eyes, spotless coat, black ears and that he carries black eyes, which are so cool on Dalmatians - but I won't get ahead of myself thinking of Barnaby's potential offspring just yet, he's still a wee puppy with things to do!
 On first meeting, Tizer & Barnaby enjoyed a lot of play fighting! Hopefully this means they will be friends, but it's still early days. They both met their mentors too! Neither Elderflower or Tasty have Good Citizen titles ... so how well they'll fair as mentors I'm not sure, but there's no harm in a team effort! And the first lesson is napping ... I'm sure this will go great! Watch out, Tizer & Barnaby are coming for those titles!

Congratulations to Tizer earning his Good Canine Citizen title! He's one cute pup and I like his name. I love the Sodapup breed standard with the orange and fizzy white bubbles. Barnaby is stylish too  How long have you been breeding Sodapups? And if you breed two,are you certain they'll easily produce another Sodapup? Or is it more of a gamble? Curiosity from a fellow Dogz selective breeder <3 |

Curiosity from a fellow Dogz selective breeder <3 Aww thank you, he hasn't achieved his title yet, just prepping for it  But your message is very motivating!! <3 I've been breeding Sodapups since sometime in 2020! I can't take too much selective breeding credit hehe as they're mostly just Dalmatians with white spots! And then if they have different features (eg a fuzzy sheepdog coat) this becomes a new 'variety' of Sodapup (eg fizzy! Vs Tizer who is 'smooth' variety). I have some more info on Sodapups & varieties at the Brewery, but essentially, as long as I have a white spot Dalmatian OW in, I'll definitely get a variety of Sodapup (but of course this definitely doesn't mean all dogz or dalis with white spots are Sodapups, only if they want to be xD) |

Foundation Baby Citizen outtakes We've been doing all sorts of prep for the first of the Good Petz Citizen Scheme titles, Foundation Baby Citizen. To earn this title, Tizer & Barnaby need to demonstrate sitting, grooming, settling and playing nicely with toys and other petz. Barnaby did particularly well and so doesn't have many outtakes, as most of the shots taken will be used for his formal submission! He has such a calm temperament and didn't require a lot of guidance. Tizer on the other hand, was overly excited and very playful, so took a little longer to settle into the tasks. Luckily, Tasty intervened, picking Tizer up to calm him down! I will share their final submissions after they've been entered - I'm now deciding on shownames for both of them, which is part of the entry form (though I'm sure not compulsory, I'd like them to have shownames going forward!). Let's see how they do - please wish our puppies luck! |
