Week Two: Day Ten! Prompt: Have a posing session with a pet, and enter them in a show if you're up to it. So, I love the prompts for this event, but I had a rough several days and couldn't find the time to play Petz much (which I have to say has helped to make 'Nodopt' a lot easier). Anyway, I've decided to do all of the prompts even if I'm not doing one a day ... so here's the second of several updates! I really wanted to get some better poses for a few of my older danes, so I figured this would be a great reason to take them out and work with them a bit. I started with Candi (a 2000 model) first. I wish her head was a tiny bit higher, but overall I think this pose is balanced nicely and hopefully will do well! I was showing her with a different pose, but the ears weren't nearly as aligned, so she wasn't placing especially well (so I stopped showing her with that pose). I wanted to get two dogz posed, if possible, so after I got a decent pose from Candi, I grabbed Aisa (also hexed in 2000). Aisa is, and always has been really, really difficult to pose ... but I was determined. After about half an hour, I finally got a nice sequence of poses and found one that was pretty good. Hopefully she does well! My plan is to enter them into some shows later tonight (after I run some errands).

Week Two: Day Eleven! Prompt: Clear out some folders you need to organize and shop in your own folders for petz. I actually spent a decent bit of time right before Nodopt began sorting some of my petzy folders, but my adoption folder had some old files & some petz floating around that I'm setting aside to put up as MPAs. I decided I would organize that one a bit today. Here's the before. See? Not terrible. I started with the Breeding Service folder since I knew I had a lot of old .pet files in there that should be deleted ... I flipped between my Breeding Service thread on the PetzLife Discord and my folders and discovered I had missed sending out a few petz. Oops. So I sent those out. Better late than never, I suppose? Here's the 'after' shot (took probably another 30 minutes to sort through everything). Then I deleted my old files. Don't worry, a large portion of these were petz photos I've taken as I've been working on updating my Crew Pages, but it still felt nice to delete all of those files from my laptop! The prompt did say to: shop in your own folders for petz ... and since all of these were bred LONG before Nodopt began, that felt fair. I found one mutt to keep from an old Breeding Service litter & two catz to keep from leftovers from Octowber! I'll have to think of names for them, but they're pretty cute, so I'm glad I took a few extra minutes to actually sort the folders instead of just deleting old files!

Week Two: Day Twelve, Thirteen, & Fourteen! Prompt(s): 12. Take a pet to your fave playscene and tell us what you love about it. 13. See if your petz like the watering can. 14. Have your petz help you plant and grow a garden! I decided to combine days 12-14, since the prompts were easy to complete all at the same time. Day 12: It likely comes as no surprise to anyone who knows me even a little ... the Garden is my favorite play scene. This scene was hexed by Lida of Hextraordinary. I grabbed two of my danes, aged them down to 12 and then headed outside (after loading the travel case with flower seeds). Noche (the black dane; hexed by me in 2008) immediately caught a mouse. Freyr (the red dane; hexed by me earlier in 2023) wasn't sure what to do, so he just looked one in confusion. ---- Day 13: Next, I checked to see if my petz like the watering can! Freyr was a big fan of being sprinkled with some water and rolled on his back in delight. Noche, however, was less of a fan and freaked out a bit. ---- Day 14: I threw a bunch of seeds out for the pups to play with ... though they kept eating the white tulip seeds, so not many of those were able to flower. It's interesting that the fully bloomed flowers can be 'knocked' around sometimes by the petz ... I'm not sure if that's a feature of the hexed flowers or the playscene? Either way, I loved the chaos of the space after a few minutes of letting them roam around.

Week Three: Day Fifteen! Prompt: Do some agility with a pet (have them jump through a hoop, pick up a ball and jump back through the hoop). For this prompt, I decided to play with Burlesque, a pup I recently got from Celia's PUGS shop. Burlesque was actually first hexed in 2008, but then was sent back to Celia. Where I snatched her up as soon as I saw her! First, I decided to get Burlesque used to the ball ... I chose red to match her coat. Pretty quickly she fell in love the ball. It took a minute, but after ignoring the hoop & knocking it out of the cursor hand, she was also in love with the hoop. Again, I chose red to match her coat. Then I just had to wait until she decided to leap through the hoop - which actually only took a few more minutes! Finally, I just had to combine the two! And voila, a new skill has been acquired.

Week Two: Day Sixteen! Prompt: Send a pet on a playdate and have a pet over for one! Technically, I'm supposed to borrow a pet from someone (and loan them one of my mine) for a playdate. But I didn't feel like doing that right now, so instead I snapped a photo of one of my real-life cats ( Fran) cuddling with me while I played petz. I give you: "Petz and Pets."

Week Two: Day Seventeen! Prompt: Give your pet a present in the present box. Here's a series of pictures of Dot, a hexed dane from Crissi (2005) opening a new present toy I downloaded: I can't believe how cool this toy is! It's from Amanda at Cargo Petz!

Week Two: Day Eighteen! Prompt: Put your petz in the basket and see which ones will hop out! For this challenge, let's play a little game. See if you can pick which pup will leap out of the basket first! First up, we have Deja from Liv @ Cirque (2010). This spunky little red-head surely won't let you down. Next, we have Frank, hexed by me in 2002! Frank might be the oldest of the players today, but that just means he's got experience. Our third player is Ty from Hayley@Chanceux. Ty is so fast that he only has two letters in his name. Player number four is Cleveland, hexed by me in 2008. He might looks soft and sweet, but it's always the quiet ones you need to watch-out for. And rounding out the field we have Envy from Lox @ AK (2008). You'll be green with envy when you see how fast this pup is. And the basket has been loaded! Place your bets. .... .............. ........ .... .. [ no spoilers here!] .... .............. ... Hope you bet on RED (or the blue glasses). Deja was the first pup to hop out of the basket! Eventually they all hopped out (and then in ... and then out again).

Week Three: Day Nineteen! Prompt: Take a couple of petz on a date I was sorting my dalis for my crew page updates, so I picked a few of them to play with. The blue boy is named Alert, bred by me, and the spotty white girl is Azure, adopted from Tea. Alert was immediately smitten ... And just as quickly Azure was admiring Alert ... There was several minutes of flirting ... And, suddenly, Azure developed a waddle! Because I had the Insta-Baby feature on, their sweet baby boy, Capture, was born just a couple minutes later (after I put Azure away and brought her back). I haven't decided if I'm going to use on of my Nodopt 'slots' to keep Capture or if I'm going to offer him up as a MPA.

Week Three: Day Twenty! Prompt: Give a pet a 'spaw day'. I was sorting my Hexed Catz while working on this prompt, so I grabbed Courthouse (a calico adopted from emily@nerf in 2008) and Fryer (a tabby adopted this year from Bunni @ Funfetti). I thought it might be fun to start the 'spaw day' festivities with letting the kittens pick a bow to wear (by using the auto-roll ball trick). Courthouse was first, she was a bit overwhelmed with all of the choices and had to lay down for a minute. Fryer was a little less intimidated by the pile of bows and patiently waited for me to take out the auto-roll balls. We took a quick break for a fashion show after they were properly bedazzled. Next it was time for some brushing; which they both really enjoyed! We finished the day with a cup of cocoa, since winter has arrived and it sounded nice and cozy! Courthouse loved the blue mug the best and after pouncing on it, she gulped it down. Then she spent a moment yelling her displeasure that she was out of cocoa. Fryer liked the green mug and carried it around for a bit before drinking her chocolatey brew. She, too, howled with sadness when her drink was finished.

Week Three: Day Twenty-One! Prompt: Have a pet play with the paint can and see what color(s) they end up! I started this prompt by filling the Toy Closet with paint cans of all different colors ... Looks pretty fun, right? Then I grabbed Schmink, a cat I hexed in 2001; so an update (even just a temporary one) was probably overdue. I put on some tunes and Schmink danced his way around the paint cans for several minutes. After about five minutes, I turned off the music and took a look at the results. Pretty cute, right? Might be good for some hexing inspiration for the future!
